What about the tornadoes? Wheres the vanity pet for that? Why help over there when just as many need help here in America where blizz is located?
Yes.Yes, I will. 1) I always donate to every charity I can (even those little drop buckets at cash registers).2) Its...so...CUTE!
Wow, only took one comment for someone to complain.Grats.
@sltrhouse I don't have anything civilized to say to you, other than this.I'm kind of disappointed that they're not selling that flying lion mount... But totally getting this, regardless.
I love how they call it an adoption fee. Fantastic. Will be adopting one as soon as I get home to my authenticator.
If they allowed verify by visa I'd buy it but seeing as they don't...
Looks abnormally cartoony, tbh.But it's still awesome...need to get my wallet.
Aw, I already have the other one. I've already donated to the Red Cross, but I'd buy a *unique* new pet if one was offered. Boo on Blizzard for both making this one less desirable to purchase AND making the previous one less rare and cool.
I'd be surprised at the hate directed at an obvious humanitarian effort, but this is the internet and haters are going to hate. All I can say is this: If a massive disaster wrecked most of my country, I hope people would think more about the good $10 a person could do instead of the fairness of who gets a vanity item for what.
There are a lot of really worthy causes out there- a lot of people and organizations doing good things, who can use all the help they can get. It's kind of sad that people would look at a fund raiser, and get angry because they think that the money should go somewhere else. You don't get to slam someone for doing a good deed, just because you would have picked a different recipient. And, to put things in perspective, the death toll in the Japan situation was 18,400 people, and 452,000 people are now living in shelters.http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/21/japan-earthquake-death-toll-18000The death toll for the tornados in the united states is 345, and another 2,046 people were injured. I couldn't find numbers for the number of people left homeless.http://arbiteronline.com/2011/05/02/death-toll-after-vicious-southern-storms-reaches-345/http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2011/04/death_toll_from_storms_rises_t.htmlThe point is- both situations are tragedies, and both are worthy causes for people to donate time, money and energy to. I can see how Blizzard, when choosing a cause for this latest pet, decided that Japan was someplace where they needed a lot more to get back on their feet. If you feel that US domestic issues should take first priority, regardless of death count, then you have every right to feel that way, and should continue to support those causes that you feel are the most important. But can you really get angry with someone else who looks at these two situations, and decides that Japan is where they want to put their resources?
Off-topic: I think someone spends waaaay too much time in front of a game and has lost grip with reality entirely...On-topic: bought and it is much cuter in-game than the picture and animation on the site. I was really hoping they'd pop a critter in the blizz store for japan! Kudos to Blizz (and it's one time where I don't begrude recycled content because I'm sure this was a pita to arrange and they have major content they need to be working on so while a recolor would have been nice I think this is fine)
