Even though it's still not completely polished, I'll probably use it.Also, in before a lot of comments on how to polish the Guild Finder.
Looks good, will certinly make recruiting a lot easier
what I just noticed reading this is that the guild finder gives you a limited number of request to join guilds. wonder if that resets after a request has been rejected or if it's a daily or weekly reset?
Will probably be max number of requests at anyone time so you can't spam requests rather than a weekly cap style.
I want the ability to put time slots under availability on certain days.
"A new Guild Finder button will now appear on your Micro Menu if you're either a guild leader or currently unguilded.", can you get at this if you are guilded and not a GL? In case you're looking to leave but don't want to until you have somewhere to go.
I hope they put "Casual" or "Social" as one of the interests.Might leave a bunch of guilds out in the cold.
I really hope they change who can use this feature.Guild Leaders aren't always active members of the recruitment process. I'm the raid leader of our guild and have been actively trying to recruit people, but because I'm not the guild leader this feature is useless to me. They need to make it available to anyone who has Ginvite privileges (or at least make it so the guild leader can say who can and can't use this feature). Also, it'd be nice to be able to search for a new guild while still guilded, especially with all the guild perks that people don't want to lose out on while looking for a new guild.
I can see how it will benefit some players and guilds, but I can also see how it will make it easier to guild hop and allow for those players who everyone tries to avoid. I would like the ability to investigate player history before I would consider it a useful tool.
Considering it's been my #1 problem with Cataclysm (rolling out Guild Perks without rolling in a proper in-game LFGuild system), I shouldn't exactly complain too much about this feature. It does, however, feel bare-bones, and I hope Blizzard already has ideas on how to improve this.
I'm hoping they add the option to allow other ranks to access what a Guild Master can see. Not every guild has the GM in charge of recruitment and I'm sure most GMs would want their officers to be able to see people applying even if they can't personally accept them.
