I think he missed part of the 'homogenization" complaints players give. It doesn't revolve simply around crit numbers. It also revolves around play styling and feelings gotten from playing more than just one class. Can they all punch? Sure. Does one punch harder than the other? Of course. Come across a healer that has as much health as a tank...A pally that out heals a pure healing class priest...Questions start to arise. Examples only. Not definitive. A lot of the player base that complain about 'homogenization' do so from seeing character class descriptions not hold up to what they stated 'made the class what it is'. This may start a flame. But with vanish 'broken', players with the rogue class felt that class did not fit the actual description given for them.
should i build up crit rating on my resto shammy even though it doesnt benefit elemental shaman to have it. Just wondering what I could do if i dont have the resources to have 2 different sets of gear.
Refreshing to read it here than MMO champion.90% of posts there mock the devs, claim they could design the game way better, and say they quit and are going to play rift.I seriously /lol and /facepalm when reading MMO champion.
For healers, Crit would be as interesting as Haste if Cirt had an effect instead of "big number!" Kind of like Mastery, a Critical heal should do something additional. Or a basic idea is that it should also increase the actual amount the critical heal ends up as a result. It shouldn't be rated in a linear way but if you double your Crit rating, you should see a moderate increase to average critical heal numbers instead of just more of them.
I think his sentiments regarding the homogenization drum thing is him being deliberately obtuse. Nobody cares if you make all crits crit at 200% rather than some being 150%...people care when you make every tank and healer spec use the same model for spells such as everyone having 1 long-cast medium-throughput efficient heal, 1 short-cast big-throuhput inefficient heal, 2 o-crud buttons, etc. Base mechanic homogenization =/= class ability homogenization I've really only ever seen people QQ about the latter.Otherwise my opinion is "Meh, whatev" I liked it when my holy pally was more crit-based because I liked big numbers :)
