Dont forget the same can be said about dps Iceveiled, its not only just tanks, usually the lack of good dps and awareness... about in 90% of the time they re the cause of wipes, but of course since apparently 90% is less than half according to qq'ers, tanks will always get the blamewith the exception of ozruk that isand maybe some others, toolets be real for once, dps? by the millions, tanks?if a realm has more than 500 active per faction, you re lucky to be in that realmi strongly suggest you start rolling a tank class, aint so bad to do it, plus youll get the goodie bag as well, even if that tank would an alt, stop complaining and be part of the solution already
Flame suit on? you'll need something like Solar Flare deflector pretty soon
LOL Stop saying healers might get a chance at the goodie bag too. Is only for Tanks. Any healers out there have instant ques? I sure don't MY Que time is usually around 10mins or so. So really this only reward tanks and TANKS only. No one else. I am going to tank on my pally now even though I have no experience in tanking in cata. If the groups wipes coz I am a bad tank I will simply tell them blizzard made me do it coz they are only giving tanks the goodie bags. Too bad other people will have to pay for my mistake coz of blizzard smart way to fix things. Want to blame someone blame blizzard.
This is going to be a total failure.-Only tanks have instant queues, healers still have 10 minute waits....So as everyone has said already, only tanks will get the rewards.-The idea of shortening queues is a best case scenario. If it works out how blizzard wants it, tanks will queue more...which means shorter queues for everyone. Do you know what that means? Shorter queues mean NO ONE gets a goodie bag. So what will happen then? Tanks will STOP (or healers, or dps but I will bet it'll be the tanks) queuing just to get the goodie bag. The end result will be the same queue times as always since one role will always start not queuing to get rewards.-Like the first point, it's pretty much rewarding tanks when they are already in the best possible position. The only way I could see this working in it's current form is if it was to reward everyone once their queue got above 20 minutes while still letting tanks get their welfare reward. This way tanks will get something to make them want to queue while dps will get a little something for having to wait (because it'll still happen, refer to my second point). The only downside to this is healers will get screwed because their wait time isn't >20 minutes and they aren't in demand like tanks are. Which pretty much proves there is no way for this to work out fairly unless when call to arms procs everyone in the group gets the bag.-As other have said, it'll only promote bad tanking/bad healing/bad dps. I have toons that do all 3 roles, I have a warlock, I have a DK that I tank on, and I have a shaman I use purely for healing. On all 3 toons I usually try my hardest to slightly over gear something before I even attempt it. Sadly, not many think that way. I see tanks all the time with half greens (still confused on how they meet the ilvl 329 to get into heroics), healers come in with 60-65k mana (I'm sorry but I dinged 85 with like 70k so I don't see how you're still that low), and dps using an off spec's gear.-Another thing that's been pointed out. Sure you might get a nice short queue but what happens when it's a fail tank/healer/dps (point number 3)? You just sit in queue again with repair bills. You'd be better off with 35 minute waits for a good tank. So yea, that bad player won't get a goodie bag..but everyone else just has to suffer. There is just no way to do this and be fair about it. Tanks will get the rewards 90% of the time and people will just abuse the system. The ONLY way I can think of for this to come out in a fair way is to just reward more justice/valor points because getting them is just a matter of instances (which is the subject this effects). Have it set up to where the call to arms role get something like 30 valor points per boss (there would still be a weekly cap to prevent farming to an extreme) while the other classes get something like 30 extra justice or maybe 10 valor per boss to play with the person with call to arms. It'd still be rewarding tanks over everyone else but at least it would promote gearing and it'd still speed things up a little bit for the dps.***As stated previously I have toons of all 3 roles so don't say I'm singling anyone out. I've played all 3 and I really enjoy all 3. I just don't think one should be rewarded over the other.
Maybe they should give a bag to dps who don't die, pull agro, or generally fail in the dungeon. Probably wouldn't work because it would require as much attention and skill as rolling tank or healer.I like this new feature as it give my tank and healer another reason to que other than just the mind-numbing rep grind.I see a lot of people crying about how dps will never benefit from this- but it is a "Call to Arms" and it won't just be tanks and healers. It will shorten que times for a while and that would mean that the call to arms will shift to dps as they would be in demand.
I will say that i don't like the new system. I play a ret/prot pally but mostly a ret pally. I for one will feel bad for others i get paired with bc i do not have the mindset for tanking but dearly want the loot on my main.
I can see this idea backfiring. Queue times might get reduced, but say you get a bad tank or healer and a wipefest ensues...tank leaves...you get another bad tank, etc. Sure, this happens NOW, but with the extra carrot dangling in the faces of would-be tanks and healers you now have a bunch of new players trying to tank or heal encounters they've only done from a DPS perspective. sure, you could get skilled puggers, but you could also get a long string of fails, turing a 1 hour pug into a 3 hour one. And even then....no extra reward for DPS and their patience.I agree with this all the way. I will be rolling my tank spec more now than ever but will be the first to admit that i am not a good tank and will feel sorry for the group wiping
Short term boost to queues may be worth it, but the heroic rewards going weekly is a bigger factor and is the single biggest reason I'm looking forward to the 4.1 patch.
How about re-working the mechanics of the heroics depending on group make up? Players will though have the option to want a healer or tank in the group.Example:No tank, means PLATE dps would have the option to do the tanking provided the mobs dont hit or crit as hardNo Healer, some concept except ... Things will be tough but you will more then likely have an extra CC
I was against this when they first announced it. Now that it is going to be Bind to Account, I have no complaints.
I love those of you blaming Blizzard for your decision to tank for a near worthless goody bag. That's being part of the problem, not the solution."I dps, and have a tank alt, but blizz is making me play tank 4 my poniez omg, don't blame me, blame blizz"Puh-leaze.
