I'm still not looking forward to tank alts in poor gear trying to run heroics... =__=Don't worry, they'll soon get kicked and realize it's not worth it.Cheers.You would be surprised how dense people can be. Or how fast you can max out your kick player ability. At least in my battle group.
Man I can wait till this comes out! Going to none stop dungeon!
I think this system will be great. It will help everyone using the Dungeon Finder. DPS would benefit from the ability to run more dungeons, more quickly, resulting in easier gearing. Tanks and healers don't have as hard a time gearing up (due to their demand in randoms), so their encouragement is different: mounts and pets and other nice things.Complaining about not having a chance at satchels is silly. You want shorter queues and bonus loot? Don't forget the cool mounts don't help your character do anything but look different. Enjoy your easier group-finding or satchels!
I like this. The main reason I don't play the game that much anymore is due to it's extremely time consuming nature. I probably still wont gear my priest main to heal though, the changes to healing in Cataclysm really aren't my cup of tea, which fails because I really enjoyed healing in WotLK. But eh, just my opinion.
why couldn't they just leave well enough alone with letting dps get ninja que ppl it moved faster and no one complained. You start adding a satchel of goods and ppl are gonna like it at first and then just like leveling ppl are gonna open the bag and sell it as vender trash and then not care anymore and were right back to 45 min que times
I definitely think this will help in the long run, but it's not going to be drastic at all.I remember in LK gearing up my Pally tank, and honestly, having no wait time queues as a tank is incredibly exhausting. Sure, you get a really high chance at the loot that you want, but it's probably (alongside progression raiding) the most intense time I've ever played. You suffer from a lot of burnout as a tank. I feel it now too as a healer, but it's definitely an order of magnitude less. I just need to sit there and push buttons, sure it gets difficult, but I'm not having to lead or take an active role in any form.To save myself from going crazy on my Pally, I started queuing as DPS, just so that I could go quest, herb or farm something for 20minutes. TL;DR - classic "grass is greener on the other side" scenario, if you've never queued consistently as a tank, and also seen what it's like for DPS, you're going to idealize one or the other.
I love how people assume that shorter queues for dps are a benefit to all dps and missing out on the loot is an easy pass for shorter queue times. The dps who complain about 30 min wait times are the ones that cannot (or will not) use their time wisely (I know of several who whinge in vent about wait times but they don't utilise the time to do their dailies). This is catering for the lazy, rewarding the cheap and robbing the hard workers who go out and grind rep and old dungeons. I'm happy with the 30 min waits - I get my dailies done and my AH scanning. But, I'm an AVID pet collector and love my mounts. And after 3 years of non-stop grinding (daily), I have only just got the Hawkstrider. Yeah, sure, the bags will have the same drop rate, blah blah but it's not the same as forcing someone to go do the mount circuit daily to get them.As for the Cenarion Hatchling or cross faction pets, this is a major slap for any poor dps who's a pet fan. I suppose it's just more gold I'll have to come up with (assuming the Cenarion pet isn't foolishly BoP).
I'm still not looking forward to tank alts in poor gear trying to run heroics... =__=Don't worry, they'll soon get kicked and realize it's not worth it.Cheers.Yep, true. They'll get kicked plenty, and will either use that as the clue-by-four that gets them looking up HOW to tank and acquiring proper gear, which means more competent tanks, or they quit trying to tank.I suspect more people will quit trying it than will actually put forth 5 minutes of effort learning to do it properly, but some who can tank and just don't enjoy it will be more motivated to tank heroics for the rewards, so I believe it will even out.My main healer has a tank offspec I use for questing. I could easily gear it up for tanking heroics, and since I know all the dungeons I bet I could be good enough. All I need is one or two gear upgrades from JP, and since i don't need JP for my healer gear I have too many of those anyhow. Add in some cheap gems and enchants, and boom. Shiny tank all ready for heroics. There's been zero motivation for me to try it up until this point, but with this change I might go back to tanking.THIS is why I really do think the CTA feature will actually work. It may be just enough of a motivation for people who CAN TANK, but don't do it for whatever reason to spend more time queueing as tank. The other thing is just how éasy´most of these mounts are to get normally. If people really want them, and can´t figure out how to tank, they will just grind them. The nice thing is this will happen in 4.1, where there is really no gain to running extra heroics (already gear and JP capped)... and the bad tanks will quit. But when 4.2 comes around, I will want to be running heroics A LOT (359 gear for JP).. this makes it just a little more rewarding
I still submit that my idea of 6 man dungeons was better :p
I still submit that my idea of 6 man dungeons was better :pLuls.
I still submit that my idea of 6 man dungeons was better :pWhat about 10 man dungeo- Oh wait.
Im so excited! Im a healer, but i can do tank spec too. This will be awesome for DPS, i dont see why people keep complaining about it. People are never happy. Would you rather sit in que for 45 min, or be able to que in 10 min or less, and be able to run another one in 45 min? you can do so many more heroics with more tanks and healers showing up. Even if it is a newly heroic geared tank, as long as they know how to play their class, i dont see a problem with it. They will eventually be fully geared, and will help out more. And to clarify BoA means bind on account, if you open the bag, any of the gear can transfer to your other toons on the same account, and same for mounts. If you dont want that mount or pet on the character you got it on, dont learn it... just send it to your main, then learn it. I think this will be a good thing for everyone! Go Blizzard!
Liked the original idea. Love this one. Originally I thought "hooray, faster queue times!" Now I'm thinking "time to dust off my old paladin alt!" I'll be shuffling mounts and pets around my account as much as I can.
I can't wait for it to balance out after a while so that DPS are getting the loot!Cheers.
With all of this discussion and controversy about one of the biggest changes to the game since the Dungeon Finder itself, it's odd that I don't care. It's not going to affect me; I stopped running Heroics months ago. For me, it's sad: I used to love running Heroics in Wrath. I ran at least one every day, and even up to the launch of Cataclysm, more than one per day pretty often. I didn't even need the emblems! They were still just fun to run for gold and to outfit my second and third specs, even if I wasn't planning to use them. My experiences with Heroics in Cataclysm, though, has been awful. The increased difficulty of this expansion doesn't affect me too much directly, but very much so, indirectly. When I wasn't with the guild, Heroics felt like server-first heroic progression raids. Literally hours of wiping on the first bosses. One run in particular had a revolving door at the entrance; entire groups would slowly disband and reform around me as I stuck with it, determined to get my stupid valor points after so much time invested, until I got lucky and found enough geared and skilled players to get through it after three and a half hours. Granted, that was the worst run I can remember, but not the only terrible, terrible one. Like that miserable hour I spent on the first boss in Shadowfang Keep before we gave up. It didn't take long for me to quit Heroics altogether, even when I still could have used the valor for a small upgrade. It wasn't worth it. My alt ran dungeons frequently to level up to 80, but I'm not going to touch these new ones, even on normal. I'm not interested. But then, I stopped running them months ago; I don't know what Heroics are like today. Are they tolerable these days? Have enough people slogged through them to get appropriate gear and knowledge of the fights enough to not make them incredibly boring? Will this new Call to Arms feature make things easier, or even more painful?

Or how fast you can max out your kick player ability. At least in my battle group.Yes and no. I rock a hell of a healer. I'm in all but 2 raid epics now, and I'm loving it. I can keep almost anyone alive in a heroic. Recently I was in a pug with one guildie. (He wanted a faster queue, and I didn't want to tank, so I healed.) PuG'd a DK tank. Halfway through SFK, I'm going OOM on some pulls (Which I'm really not used to.) We ask if he's using Death Strike. He's not sure why he would, he stacks mastery to heal more, instead, he says. After about 30 seconds of explination about why mastery means USE DEATH STRIKE, he starts, and my mana stops falling, and he's realizing how much easier it is to tank.No vote to kick, no ranting, nothing. Suddenly the DK tank in about 334 ilvl steamrolled the instance because my 358ilvl butt made sure nobody died. Cake.Sometimes talking to people who aren't doing their job right helps. Sometimes it doesn't. (Including the almost entirely raid geared resto dr00d who couldn't heal me in deadmines last night. Then the next healer comes in and tells me I'm seriously easy to heal. I literally told the first druid at one point "I Feel sorry for your raid group if you're healing." He got mad at me. Then he managed to fall off the boat, DURING THE COOKIE FIGHT. How exactly does one manage that? The boss doesn't move!) His main problem, he used regrowth as a heal. Nothing else. One button spam. (Oh, sorry, once I saw him pop tranquility.)There is no fix for people who swear they're right, and fail. But sometimes, people will listen when you say they're doing something wrong, and if that happens you're not in bad shape.
Awesome, that is all.
I approve of this change, my dk is my tank, but my mage is my main, I would rather have him get the mounts and the pets."We’ve been following discussions and reading feedback..."WTF, they do? I always thought the just ignored complain threads, like the Archaeology threads in the profession forum.
Ok so let me get this understood. If the Bag is BoA then if a rare mount/pet drops and the toon has it already then we can still mail it to an alt for them to have it also correct?
