All the pure DPS classes that are QQ'n gotta think about shorter queue times. The more people that can get in as a needed class, the more that will get in that are dime a dozen. This helps everyone. I will agree that it'll be a good time to be a tank.
A page and a half of reading and FINALLY! someone understood what they're trying to do. Blizz are offering some non-game changer incentives to reduce the wait time of "pure DPS" in LFG.
So things that would take pure dps classes hours upon hours upon hours to get, tanks are just gonna get for playing? That hardly seems fair because dps are never going to be the lower role. Not only that, but it's making things worse for dps because of all the tanks in the wrong spec and/or gear. They'll end up waiting longer having to queue multiple times, waiting out the deserter debuff, waiting until they can kick the tank, or waiting for a new tank.....and the decent tanks that queue for these things will just stop once they get what they want so the first wait won't even be much faster.I'd rather switch to Rift than spend my time and money to farm out these things that other characters can just get gearing their toon.
If this encourages tanks and healers to do heroics more often giving the dps a shorter q time why should there be qqing, the change is for overall benefit, and my tank/healer already farmed for ravenlord am i complaining that it was wasted time? No. Most of the time tanks and healers have the harder job in heroics.... Stop moaning or reroooooll
A page and a half of reading and FINALLY! someone understood what they're trying to do. Blizz are offering some non-game changer incentives to reduce the wait time of "pure DPS" in LFG.Very True.I'll still have my Turtle Pet with me for when tanks fail on my hunter. And its not like tanks/healers are getting unquie gear or anything there getting a Chance at gear that most of the older players already have.
To be honest. There will be no such thing as a balanced Dungeon system, EVER. To have the Q time be equal for tank, healer, and dps, there would need to be more tanks and healers than dps. Each group that starts has 1 tank spot, 1 heal spot, and 3 dps spots. Dps will ALWAYS wait longer. Therefore dps will never be the "needed role" and will never get goodie bags.
I think this change is great, encouraging tanks to queue up more and have an extra reward for all the stress of carrying 4 dps that mostly will care on how big is their dps and a poor healer that has to.. redundancy away... heal their mistakes? If you dont like it, roll a tank class and see the responsibility for yourself, tanking is not easy as it used to be in wotlk, wake up already!edit: in fact ever since vanilla, i can remember tanks 99% of the time had the responsability of carrying the group and having that extra awareness point for raid mechanics, bosses, positioning, threat, explaining fights, marking, and overall saving the dp's arseswho wouldnt love that extra reward?
Awesome, now tanks will wait if there is no Calls To Arms for them :D, and even better, I have 2 tanks!Oh yes, this is also an epic idea. Since tanks will wait for a Call To Arms, Q times can't get much faster than they are now anyways. Why Q for tank or heals without the Call to Arms? You won't get your goodie bag! OMG! Might as well sit and wait until it pops up.
they are trying to shut u up with ur continuous whining about long queue time and u still whine more! Those who play tanks and heals are well deserving of everything they get. u want to play dps, play dps and wait then.
Sure is butthurt in this thread.I am just sick of getting ^&*!ed over because I CANNOT MAKE A CHOICE in what role I fill. I am DPS, it is all I can do. And that isn't by my choice, that is by Blizzard's design. If I was told 6 years ago when I started playing my Warlock that I would start getting the shaft because of that decision I would have picked a different class (Probably Warrior or Shaman). If I could level an alt to 85, max all of my professions, obtain all of my Reputation that I spent 6 years building up, and get comparable gear within... say 3 months without severely damaging my social, school, and work life, yeah I would be down. But fact of the matter is, I am sick of getting screwed over because other people that play Hybrids refuse to tank and heal.I am glad queue times will be going down. Ecstatic about it actually. I am not glad that as a pure DPS class I am missing out on the opportunity to gain bonus rewards for filling 'needed roles'.You can learn like everybody else. Your warlock can by all means, still be your main, but you do have a choice, you are just being stubborn. My stance still stands. I run heroics on my main (hunter) for nothing but my daily valor points. I perform just as valuable role as any tank or healer, as do all other dps. Why single out certain roles when the dungeons need the team to complete them? I'm still not convinced that this bandaid will do anything to fix the queue times. Nothing like getting a 15 minute queue instead of a 45 minute only to have a dk "tank" in holy pally gear say "oh hai guiz, i hope i getz a pony".You perform just as valuable role as any tank? What... You clearly have never tanked, It's stressful @#$%, I do it because I enjoy it, but it is hard, you are not as big a contributor, don't make me laugh. If a tank leaves a group, you won't get anywhere, if a DPS leaves, you can easily 4 man stuff until another one joins roughly 2 minutes later. You also have 3 DPS classes in a group and only one tank, which means Tanks are contributing 3x more than you, in basic math. There is also a lack of tanks and extreme amounts of DPS, which can only mean they are easier to play, otherwise there numbers are equal. Also, to people who think this will be an easy way for tanks to get loot, let me remind you, they have to finish it, and it won't be a good drop rate, it will probably be something similar to the original, the only difference is we don't have to get to outland every day or Isle of Quel'Danas, or Stratholme. And for my opinion on whether tanks should get a little more rewards for a group they have to pretty much "Spearhead". Damn squiddy they should be rewarded, if they finish it that's an accomplishment of it's own. Especially with how many BAD DPS there are out there. There are good DPS, I know a lot of them myself, but the Bad's outweigh the Goods. There are also a lot of good tanks who just don't like tanking with pugs, one of them is me, and I will maybe consider doing dungeons after this has been implemented, it does need work though. There have been a number of good suggestions in this thread.1) Make it a requirement that both tanks and healers have successfully completed all bosses in normal modes.2) Make sure that they have Spec/gear to do the role that was chosen. And are not clicking the window because there able to.3) Make it that if the get vote kicked for a horrible job that they are allowed 3 attempts per day. If they get kicked from 3 dungeons then they are locked out of the feature. And are not able to use it until instances reset.Problem solved. This is the kind of thing Blizzard needs to do. You should send a petition because this is genius. (No I am not being sarcastic, I mean every word.)
Lets say a druid with no tank gear queues as tank, as soon as the group notice, wouldnt it be their part as well to kick that idiot from party rather than having the game decide if you actually have the gear for it?wow doesnt need an interface played entirely by automated mechanics, it also needs user's intelligence, thing that i have yet to see for the most part, regardless of how well you play, all these years laughing towards tanks and heals are now coming back to get you.... ahh the irony

I know when I have tried to kick people, it's usually best to just clear the instance first because by the time you're eligible to, you may already be almost done with the instance.I haven't kicked someone for months and months though, so it may have changed =\"

But I refuse to tank a dungeon until I know whats going to happen. Its less of a repair bill to have to pay.
I've noticed some people in this thread seem to think that after a few weeks every tank is going to have every rare mount or pet from this system. Let me remind you that even the best groups usually finish a heroic in about 30-40 minutes minimum and also that most tanks don't enjoy chain-running pugs. Just a quick bit of math (under the assumptions that the drops will be <=1%) tells me that it will take almost 100 heroics to get a pet or mount. Even if they're more common then that, this isn't WotLK, it'll take a good tank weeks and weeks of running heroics every day to able to hit that amount.I personally am pleased about this change, as it means my tank will have more reason to do heroics, which I have been avoiding recently because they can be so unpleasant, and also that my dps characters won't have to wait 40 minutes for their queue.
If this brings DPS queues below 10 minutes, everyone will sing its praises. Gutsy move by blizz.
Every time you hit these requirements (there is no daily limit) you'll receive a goodie bag that will contain some gold, a chance at a rare gem, a chance at a flask/elixir (determined by spec), a good chance of receiving a non-combat pet (including cross faction pets), and a very rare chance at receiving a mount. So, we get gold, most likely a combat pet, and then possibly a gem/flask/elixir if we don't get a pet, and a slim chance at a mount?I've noticed some people in this thread seem to think that after a few weeks every tank is going to have every rare mount or pet from this system.Just a quick bit of math (under the assumptions that the drops will be <=1%) tells me that it will take almost 100 heroics to get a pet or mount. Even if they're more common then that, this isn't WotLK, it'll take a good tank weeks and weeks of running heroics every day to able to hit that amount.Agreed, for all we know, the drop rates for the mount in the goodie bag may have the same, or even less, of a drop rate then going out and farming for it by oneself. As a healer, I am excited by this, because I like collecting the mounts, but don't necessarily have the patience for soloing a dungeon for the chance of a mount. Because, honestly, killing stuff takes forever! Granted, I'll stay alive through most of it with my heals, but it would be faster to run a current heroic with this bag. Granted, as a healer, I sometimes have a 20-30 minute wait for heroics, so I may not even have the chance at this bag, but I'll still do heroics.I'm just not looking forward to entering a dungeon to find those trying to abuse this system by signing up as a tank, and expecting me to heal them through the entire instance so they get a goodie bag.
I don't see how this is in any way fair to Rogues, Mages, Warlocks and Hunters.. Giving mounts people spend time farming in a bag that's obviously going to be exclusive to tanks? Might as well throw Glaves and Shadowmourne in there too..This isn't the way to solve the problem with a low amount of tanks..
Are people seriously qqing about this? "Noes Blizzard! i want a bag too, this is so stupid!..."We get a goody bag, you get ... let me see.. !shorter queue times!, queueing as the role with most people playing. Is there really guys wit this level of selfishness that they rather wait 40 min in dungeon queue, that letting other people get some more gold and goodies?
so im going to be stuck AH buying everything the tanks get of my hard work just so i could get one to join my group...Your hard work?LOL!
First of all, as a Protodin, i would realy like to wish this would come true. But since this is discriminating (Problem, DPS?) there would be helluva flame about this.Looks like i would have to farm these mounts with the good old way :(But in case this would come true, have they forgot about Reins of the Blue Proto-Drake and Reins of the Blue Drake?
