The entire time I was imagining hilarious noob info-graphics to help explain the thresholds.Good topic ... info-graphics one day?
75% gear, 25% skill. That's the name of THIS game.
Gearscore is like a Bikini. What it reveals is suggestive, what it conceals is vital and what it does is generally distracting
blizzard games are based on gearits not to say that skill doesn't matter, but its just how the games work. the whole game is based on getting better gear whether in pve or in pvp. why would it be set up like that if gear didn't make you perform better?Edit: its really really simple.
i found that skill is more important in every case, except one irrealistic case : when you somehow manage to reach that theorical limit your gear has.I've yet to see someone going even close to it...On the other hand i've done such things as tanking a raid boss with a tank bearly over 120k hp fully buffed/flasked, half of the gear in greens. Was it hard? YesDid it require use of all CDs, including heals and DPSers ones ? YesBut it is possible.
the whole topic of gear is so much more than skill it total crap, i personally have managed to tank a cata raid in mostly ilevel 333 gear and a couple of 346 items in there but the main problem was my legs i was still wearing redsteel leggings which are 316 greens and i was managaing to nick aggro off the main tank which was a blood DK in almost full epic gear, so in my opinion skill is far more valuable than gear. :)
I love how he takes twelve minutes and twenty four seconds to explain the concept... and yet people still miss the point entirely./facepalm
