What I'm trying to say is Dark Succor is pretty ridiculous considering in a single rune rotation you heal for more than a Death Pact would.Wanna make it even worse? Toss in Empower Runic Weapon and heal 60% (or more if you're Frost) of your maximum health within 4 globals...as a non-healer class. No, that's not right.Unfortunately, this is another PvE/PvP split issue. Dark Succor was DESPERATELY needed by DPS Death Knights in PvE, as our only way to restore health was essentially to drop our rotation and spam Death Strike until the meager healing got ahead of whatever damage we were taking. Example: I'm running Vortex Pinnacle and I'm fighting Grand Vizier Ertan. He pulls in his tornado shield, and in the process of running past them, the party takes a few hits from the lightning coming off the tornados. The healer's priority is on the tank and himself, which leaves the DPS to fend for themselves. The Rogue sets up a Recuperate, the Ret Paladin uses Flash of Light or Word of Glory, and they're good to go. In order to get myself back to a safe % of health, I used to have to spend the next few runic rotations spamming Death Strike; if any other AoE happened during that time, I'd have to use even more. With Dark Succor, one or two Death Strikes and I'm back in the green and ready to resume my rotation.I don't doubt that this is an issue in PvP; when Dark Succor was first added, I was telling a fellow Death Knight about it in a PuG and he immediately made the comment that it would be killer in his next BG. The problem with trying to nerf it (without using Blizzard's last resort) is that you're putting the PvEers back in the doghouse. You honestly do not have it as bad as some other classes.Warriors? As Fury they can probably stay alive fine but as Arms you have to blow Enraged Regeneration (3 minute cooldown), hope your Blood Craze procs, or maybe you specced Second Wind and are on a fight where you're going to get stunned or rooted (which is pretty conditional as few fights even use such mechanics). They also don't really have any defensive cooldowns like you do (IBF? AMS?) to help mitigate any incoming damage that are right there at the click of a button. Nope, they have to pop defensive stance, swap their shield on, then Shield Wall the damage and sacrifice their dps for that time (much worse than just tossing in Death Strikes, I assure you).Hunters? Even as a ranged dps one of the specs has NO SELF HEALING WHATSOEVER for a PvE spec. That is pretty damn bad considering ranged do take some group-wide damage. It's stupid when as a Survival Hunter, I die to Cursed Bullets while you, as an Unholy Death Knight can laugh it off, AMS the last 2-3 ticks, then spam Death Coil from the Runic Power you gained as a result (assuming there's no decurse, which is quite possible). In addition, all 3 specs heal less than a DK using Death Strike in their rotation. Death Strike is a bit on-demand, but Chimera Shot for instance is something Hunters will use every cooldown, regardless of whether they are dying or not. Spirit Mend? You can lose out on a group buff just to keep yourself alive. Besides, the cooldown is nearly half a minute.Your self-healing was fine prior to Dark Succor. You have defensive cooldowns to help you survive. Healers shouldn't have significant trouble keeping you alive unless you stand in the fire or something. So in conclusion, use defensive cooldowns if it's really that much of a bother. That's why they are baseline - to keep your ass alive just in case. Also, for Recuperate you do have to sacrifice something. I think it may be a core ability in the rotation for Sub but if you're another spec you're sacrificing some combo points. That is pretty bad for both the other specs, which rely on the finisher (Envenom for even more poison application and finishers hit harder due to Revealing Strike. Combat finishers also reduce the cooldown of an ability). In addition, if you're caught without combo points and need to heal but can't generate combo points, you're sunk.Retribution Paladins can tap themselves of their mana. Flash of Light costs quite a bit at 85. From what I recall 4 casts will finish your mana pool. (I'd rather just use Divine Shield or Divine Protection in cases you described anyways).
Fail they didn't answer my question about bots which was beyond highly rated.Time to start botting.Have fun with that.
Pathetic hunter cop out is pathetic.
I agree with the summarized version.I'm sure if they got the Q: How about getting rid of the deadzone? We'd get A: Meh, nah.
I agree with the summarized version.I'm sure if they got the Q: How about getting rid of the deadzone? We'd get A: Meh, nah.I think that was asked...numerous times.
I've been in a few Heroics (Deadmines & Stonecore to name a few) where Blood DK tanks absolutely did NOT need a healer and Holy Paladins did NOT need a tank ....There should never be a case in-game, where ONE player can defeat a heroic boss - by himself...Eh. I like weird fights. If you make the fight weird enough _someone_ is going to find it's their niche. I honestly can't imagine what fight wouldn't require a tank in DM or Stonecore. At least not unless you're pretty over-geared. And the dps knows what it's doing. Maybe certain trash packs with a lot of cc?
I just want to know why mages can pop mirror image and iceblock, and shammans cant even use elemental totems in rated pvp.
LOL, exactly as I expected. Half the questions were basically "This spec is OP (read: kills me a lot), why aren't you nerfing them more?"
If 1x1 and 2x2 are not intended to be balanced, they should state it in-game and remove the 2x2 bracket, so that people don't waste time. Also, if some classes suck at arenas and do well only in RBGs, they should make that information available when creating the character.
I just want to know why mages can pop mirror image and iceblock, and shammans cant even use elemental totems in rated pvp.The same reason Warlocks can't use their infernals or doomguards.Elementals are a tad too unbalanced. Mirror Image is intended to be a target drop like Invisibility or Feign Death. It's meant for confusion, not for massive damage.Ice Block? There's a reason Paladins can still Divine Shield in arena.
One thing that frustrates me about this exchange is that they essentially took almost ALL "FOTM" kinds of postings - by which I mean people QQ'ing complaining about how their class or team combo is UP compared to someone else and, essentially, how they wish THEY could be FOTM for a while.. While "interesting" (I guess), it is really the kind of insider, deep dive dribble that is pretty darn boring if you don't play a lock, a Blood DK, or a hunter laying down traps.MY QQ is about unbalanced battlegroups and I wish they had addressed that since it effects THOUSANDS of players. II you have a battlegroup where one faction is consistenly winning >60-65% of the time it is "broken" and I wish that Blizzard would figure out a dynamic and reasonible way of dealing with that. In our case, it is because there is a world top 5 PVP server in our BG on whcih Horde dominates (80% plus of toons). All too often one ques, and there 2-3 of them are- fully decked out in vicious and simply pawning alliance, sometimes who comes to the party wearing PVE stuff. My own belief is the simpliest say is to make conquest and honor points dynamically scale - with a faction that has an overall disadvantage in winning percentage get a bit of a boost in honor awared. Gear would, over time, equalize. Now I am sure that "skill" will continue to tilt, but at least on our fail BG it is ridiculously frustrating to que 6-7 times in randoms before you even smell a win and equalizing would help address that. And I am sure there are other Battlegroups where Alliance dominates. That too is "broken"
I read the second question as 'Death Knight style' the first time. I thought someone just straight up asked Blizzard to bite the bullet and ban them all from real-people content. :(
Overall, we think they’re fine. Warlocks in PvP often compare themselves to Shadow priest, and to be fair, Shadow priests have some very potent emergency buttons, particularly Dispersion. Warlocks have good self-healing (which also to be fair, was nerfed recently), abilities like Demonic Circle and fears that are good for both offense and defense. Once Shadow priests lose their defensive dispel capabilities, we think they will be less versatile and their entire package will be more comparable to warlocks.1.I cant !@#$ing belive we Priests got nerfed because of the retarted locks? This is an outrage! Finally, hybrids can absolutely swing the outcome of battles with their self or off-healing. Feral druids can stop, shift, and heal themselves up. It happens all the time (though obviously not while being focused). That doesn’t mean that those specs are supposed to be chain healing the whole time (that’s what actual healers do).2.I mean SRSLY?I dont want to offend anyone but druids (specially feral) absolutely deserved that i mean they dont use mana and when they need healing they just swich form and use all of there mana to bolster their hp to 100%.But we poor priests (specially shadow) have the biggest mana problems of all classes in the game atm and you are still nerfing us,i cant say this is druid's fault unlike the damn locks but we just didnt deserve that.Next patch why dont you remove Mind Flay and make Smite the main DPS ability in Shadow Priest's roation but increase the damage of shadowbolt by 50% just to satisfy the cursed Locks?Sounds like a good idea blizz?I hope not...
1.I cant !@#$ing belive we Priests got nerfed because of the retarted locks? This is an outrage!Justified nerf is justified. (Lol @ Hunters being 1% for > 2600 in 3s...when people said Hunters have a viable 3s comp)
We did nerf the Glyph of Dark Succor to keep it from being abusive.Which would stop Unholy and Frost DKs from healing huge amounts of their health in an instant...(It doesn't)It does. Death Pact is an "OSHT" button, but only heals for 25% (probably around 30-40k). Lichborne + Death Coil is another OSHT combination, but requires that Lichborne be off cooldown and for the DK to have at least 36/40 RP. Besides Blood, DK self healing isn't any more potent than any of the other DPS classes. Couple that with the fact that we have limited hard CC (pet stun on a 2m CD, that's it). Fighting DPS DKs is a whole lot less irritating than fighting any ranged class.Hunters would like to know where their potent self heals are. No, Chimera Shot isn't what I would call potent; if anything, it increases survivability in PvE by providing a small but steady stream of self healing. Expecting a BM hunter to camp one of six popular rarespawns with lengthy spawn timers in order to get a potent self heal is ludicrous - I still know BM hunters who have tried and failed to get Spirit Beasts due to jack***es (yeah, I know it's not on the profanity filter anymore) stealing or ganking the beast mid-tame. I just wish the devs would implement a spirit beast that isn't a rarespawn. Oh, and SV hunters have zero self heals; that would actually make your statement true for SV hunters, since there is no self-heal to compare Dark Succor against! So no, DPS DK specs' self healing is actually more potent than not one but three DPS specs, and they are all of the same class. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if there are other DPS specs that suffer in terms of self healing relative to DPS DK specs.
