This is a much needed change. All I can say is---FINALLY.
I don't see why what the fuss is about. Blizz is making a change to something that a fair % of players will never care about at all! Lets face it, the players that collect mounts and or pets for that matter are a persistent lot and would have done the rep grind one way or the other. Changing the format of the grind is just a change, annoying for some, good for others, and not a deciding factor for most of the players that would bother with it in the first place.
This article may help answer any questions you have regarding the situation.
Homogenizing? ...tell me where's the tauren plains running and the worgen cart?
I like this change, honestly. I don't think WoW suffers for it. I found the Horde quests for the mount to be well-done and I was happy when it was released (I was Horde at the time so maybe I was just excited about a new mount). Really though, I did the Winterspring grind back in the day twice, but I'm not going to miss it nor do I think other players should 'suffer' through it. Raising a mount from childhood over a timespan vs. grinding until your eyeballs bleed for a mount--the latter simply didn't showcase Blizzard's designing potential.
I wonder what is more cataclysmic to Winterspring: Deathwing melting the ice cap or 100 level 85 players roaming the country side.
Well, I did report that post; nothing was done. Hmm.Also, question for Ashelia:Are those screenshots posted in your profile of your own character?
