I'm actually happy about this change. I'd been wanting to get this mount for some time, but didn't want to spend the time grinding the same quest over and over for several hours each day, even if you could get all the rep you needed in a day. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of time to be playing the game all day. Hell, there are some days I can't play due to my schedule. But this change makes it a guarantee, at least for me, that I can spend an hour or less each, or almost each, evening before bed doing the dailies, and in 20 days, being rewarded with the mount.I know some think it's become trivial, but for me and my schedule, this works. So, happy me. =)
Either way, it's just a pointless change. Can't agree more. Archeology is a way more ugly grind than this was.. They should spend their resources on that!
Doesn't affect me. All Horde, all the time. Does make me chuckle to see the Allies whine though. :p
Dear Everyone who is upset about the Wintersaber changes:Your tears are delicious.
I think this change is REALLY unnecesary.
I know a lot of people I know would support the change. Not everyone liked grinding without som separation. To each their own. Besids:But that's the only way Aetsu knows how to justify his existence.
Leveling the playing field between similarly purposed factions with one target in mind makes perfect sense. It makes no sense whatsoever. it's unfair if something is ridiculously easier for one side. You know, it would be perfectly fair if every girl on the planet looked exactly alike. No one would ever be able to complain that the other guy's wife was more physically beautiful than their own.Thank God I don't live in that world. I'd call it hell.I know a lot of people I know would support the change.Let's be honest about why people support this change. For the same reason they would support the change if all Lear jets sold tomorrow for $100. Because they can get what the other guy has for a lot less effort. The irony of course is that all these players will go out and get the mount on the cheap. Then they will never actually use it because everyone else has one too.
That cub is ADORABLE!Also, so happy this quest chain is gonna be like the Horde equivalent. Makes it even (kinda).
Admittedly I skimmed/scanned but didnt see anyone ask this...Is the faction going away? If so I see A LOT of people there grinding to get to exalted.
My issue isn't the removal or reduction in the grind. My issue is that I understand neither the point of this particular change nor why the current dev team is obsessed with homogenizing everything. World of Warcraft atm has many issues wanting for developer attention. Why they would pour resources into redoing this chain but not upgrade or fix seasonal events or fix issues like phasing bugs or bugs in major gateway quests (such as the Twilight Highlands and Deepholme quests) makes no sense to me. No one is going to quit the game or really care that the Horde and Alliance have slightly different questlines or that an individual grind varies in difficulty on one side of the fence on the other. Homogenizing everything, however, does make the game much less worth playing.Probably because it's very little development in it - they have the process with the Venomhide, they just change the items and the location and it's done.I ground out the mount back when it was 50 a turn in, and I'm glad I can do this with other toons now signifigantly easier. I do think it would be fair to give those of us who earned it when it was difficult a FOS but if they don't, I won't cry. I still have the cool mount.
I will admit that it was a pain to get....but why making everything so easy now? I rarely feel like I've accomplished anything these days :(
My biggest issue is this:-1 faction for Alliance. So now the Horde is not only one mount ahead, but also one faction ahead.Balancing sides causes more imbalance between sides!
The irony of course is that all these players will go out and get the mount on the cheap. Then they will never actually use it because everyone else has one too.Only the ones who need video game accomplishments to justify their continued existence in the RL world. The ones who want shinies to have shinies will use them and enjoy them and laugh at the people who pout and whine about it 'meaning nothing' anymore.I will admit that it was a pain to get....but why making everything so easy now? I rarely feel like I've accomplished anything these days :(I rest my case. ;)
What was the merit of grinding this anyway? Grats for having such a huge amount of time to waste?
This all goes towards Blizzards socialist leanings. It is not fair for those that have taken the time, especially when the rep was 50 per quest to go through and grind to get the mount. I did it on my hunter, and have partially done it on at least 3 of my 5 current 85s. After a while I get bored with doing it. Anyway, with the advent of flying at level 60 for all of classic and outlands, what is the point of upgrading this other than to make the people that are too lazy to do the grind get a reward. The haves will always have to sacrifice for the have nots. Get used to it, as long as people think that life should be fair this will happen.
This is a great new concept going from companion pet to full-fledged mount. I'm excited to see how Blizzard can apply this mechanic later on. My only question is, what will the state of the Cub be when you get the mount? Or will you still have the companion, and just receive the mount as a quest reward. In that case, will the 'only usable while in Winterspring' requirement change? Excited indeed.
I don't understand the point of this change. Why this obsession the new dev team has with homogenizing everything?Hey, if they REALLY wanted to homogenize everything, they would make the NPCs in Bloodmyst Isle their own faction to give an Alliance equivalent to the Blood Elves in Tranquillen.
So if they are trying to even things out and make both sides equal, then Alliance needs two more mounts considering Goblins got actual mounts that any Horde race can get, but Worgens are their own mounts that if you are a Dwarf you are unable to get, thus making the Horde having more mounts available to them.
I like it.
You know, it would be perfectly fair if every girl on the planet looked exactly alike. No one would ever be able to complain that the other guy's wife was more physically beautiful than their own.You are the king of bad analogies.I only hope understand the delicious humor that comes from introducing an analogy about good looking girls in a discussion about shiny mounts. This all goes towards Blizzards socialist leanings. It is not fair for those that have taken the time, especially when the rep was 50 per quest to go through and grind to get the mount. And you're the king of misunderstood economics. It doesn't even resemble socialism as there's no redistribution of wealth.
