Could make the Heirloom like the Authenticator pet, the one they send to every character on the account. Have special vendors that you buy an heirloom from and every character gets one on any server. If you can't use it (plate for a clothie) just get rid of it. Any new toon you make gets a mail when they first log on.It's just as easy to log off and trade herilooms so having one on each isn't really OP and this would fix the cross server issue. What dealbreaker am I not thinking of?Although I guess the programing that would be required to set this up might as well be spent just making them cross server transferable.
This is a lot of crying over something that really has no bearing on anything. Quite frankly, if your so stuck on the fact that you can't get your exp bonus on a different server then maybe it's time to review just how easy this game is now. As posted earlier, you can clear a zone and almost be out of the next zone as far as questing experience goes (Westfall to Redridge was the example I believe). Obviously, the issue isn't that you care if you get the full questing experience (completing all of the zone quests, just to clarify), you just want to power level. That being said, go do it and quit crying. Having BoA gear solves little to nothing other than having one less thing to pay attention to, which you barely have to be awake to get to 85 as it is. All of the new quest chains more or less outfit you with a new set of gear, so no real worries there. Not to mention that you can just queue up for dungeons which hand you quests, cash, and gear just for setting foot in the instance, along with the boss drops. Yes, you spent your emblems/points on the gear and yes, it does say "Binds to account," but it never did say that it was accessible across servers and it still doesn't, though it does still work on your account and either faction on the server it's on. People are to easily led to stupid assumptions and illogical leaps in reasoning. If anyone is so dependent on BoA gear to level that they are really angry about this then you have a few options. Go play and quit whining, the time you've wasted on this forum was probably worth the first 10-12 levels. Stop playing and start a demonstration in front of some place of your liking, letting the world know that not being able to transfer BoA gear across realms is an affront to mankind and needs to be rectified immediately. Go back to doing whatever it was you did before you started playing Warcraft since this game obviously doesn't do it for you either. As for the helm/shoulder enchants... are you all serious! Go grind the rep, and if you don't have the time to grind rep on all of your toons then you don't have time for those toons anyway. The fact that these are BoA is just silly since it only incites laziness in people, and laziness in Warcraft seems to know no bounds.
Instead of "Cross-Realm" mail, add something even better! Account Bank. a single bank(hell make it cost 10,000g just to help them sleep better at night) that all of your characters can access from any realm, alli or horde. Maybe even allow gold to be deposited so you can move that from realm to realm as well. Me i play regularly on 2 different realms, horde and alli. i would find such a feature extremely welcomed. it would certainly stop people from using 2 accounts to neutral AH items/gold cross faction. Yeah i know, dont want to give gear n such across factions(high level stuff) so maybe restrict items going into the account bank, by ilvl, or type, so on. Right now any player that has a friend(or 2nd account) can mail and move ANY item or ammount of gold across realm and factions, all over the place and back again, so this isnt changing anything that isnt already in place, just adding a very very nice feature. heck, make items become BoA or something once put into the account bank, like mats or gear(BoE), you put in a stack of leather...it becomes BoA, so u cant sell it on horde after farming it on alli. can i get a 2nd that?
Let me put it this way; I dislike doing SOME things double, triple, quadruple times. You get that Minipet? Yays! You get that minipet TWICE? Scrap it, no alt is going to ever see it. If one wants that mount by himself, one has to be alchemist. So for all people who have not alchemy as one of their professions, they need to run archaeology on a character they do not actually WANT to run archaeology just to get this mount. They have to do the crap again on their main anyways, and doing the same thing twice and trashing all the mounts and minipets certainly is frustrating :(
