Another major issue I find is people who up their ilevel with PvP gear just to get into a heroic and then put on their sub par PvE gear. It could be so easy.> scanning items for average itemlevel...> If "stat = resilience" then "remove item from math" and "look up next highest ilvl for that slot"I do not know if that would work for healers and tanks as well. Like for example;
A nitpick for a nitpick, sorry.Yarrrrrrr, knewing this would happen XD but I did not want to stress the envelope with another way-too-big-post. Thing is, I do know about server load and using as less resources possible. This is good code vs. bad code, which seperates quality programs from a whole lot of buggers. Also performance wise, we know there are some games written so well that they run better than OLDER games even on OLDER machines. The whole of WoW is pretty badly coded, just take the graphical engine point of view. And no, I do not mean "bad graphics". Its the style of WoW, and I will not say that stylistics = bad. No, I mean HOW the graphics are coded and processed by the hardware is pretty awkward and resource unfriendly. Multicore implementation is an unwanted bastard. Sound processing is by any means abysmal. Coming back to the topic; I see three ways to release stress on the servers but to keep this idea working;
Teaching leadership, teamwork and responsibility through applied use of World of Warcraft in the classroom?And someone seriously considered World of WarCraft? *hides face in his hands* please don't. If you want to have an MMO teach something, then use EvE Online for that.And they'd feel right at home since playing EvE feels like schoolwork when you're at home.
Careful what you wish for in that "DPS Gear" thing.My protadin is wearing 2 or 3 pieces of straight up DPS Plate. Why? With a little reforging it ranks with the best Tanking plate of the same level.yeah, it does.
Just drop the item level of PvP gear by 50 points across the board.You don't "get" anything for having item level on PvP gear; Full 349 Honor Gear could have the extra same stats, but call it item level 299 instead.Problem solved.
Thanks a lot for the "Everything Else" section. Some great sites with some great thinkers. :)-Raw
Because some people who are well-skilled can actually do it at that iLevel, I'm sure.There's a couple people in my guild who were able to dive into heroics as soon as they reached the minimum iLevel. Skill does make a difference. I, personally, waited until I collected all of my reputation gear, and reached an average iLevel of 345, before I started trying heroics.I also found running the regulars so much were good practice and experience healing through mistakes by DPS, or even tank, or the unexpected extra mob pulled by accident.
And someone seriously considered World of WarCraft? *hides face in his hands* please don't. If you want to have an MMO teach something, then use EvE Online for that.For... like.... math?
For those interested in the video of the Starcraft mod, check out last week's Legendary (link). They included at least part of the vid in their broadcast. I believe it was in the first half of the show.
