When do Rift come out?March 1:st for the US March 4:th for EU. I also heard of something like a headstart for preordering, so it might be released in stores a few days after these dates.Headstart is February 24th I believe. As long as you have pre-ordered you will have access.
Are those beta keys actual keys or are they just an increased chance to get into the beta events?
What's with all the RIFT coverage lately? Are people incapable of going to a RIFT-themed website for news about this game? Wowhead is a WoW site is it not?It is also a ZAM site. I don't see where is the problem of having ONE thread talking about a new mmorpg and its ZAM site in a ZAM site about wow, a mmorpg.About this Rift... seems interesting, but one drug is more than enough for me. ;-)
Can Wowhead have my babies?Please?addchild()?Are those beta keys actual keys or are they just an increased chance to get into the beta events? When you enter it it says its a VIP Beta Key so I'm guessing it's a guarantee.
Well, other sites have offered "beta keys" as well. Most of the major gaming sites did; I got one from Gamespot, about a month ago, since that was the only site I already had an account with. However, they weren't guaranteed to get you in, they only improved your chances of getting into the beta events.
Just random numbers since I know some like them. We went thru 5k keys in under 3 hours. We just added another 10k keys, but I think it surprised everyone how fast they went. If you're interested, grab one now. We've been promised unlimited, but ya never know =).THANK YOU FOR THIS, woke up to check my daily dose of wow/mmo news and VIOLA FREE KEY FOR RIFT

Finally! A game that uses the metric system!
Anyone using Chrome having issues with that Soul Tree Calculator? Namely, nothing appears other than the background?Have you tried clicking on one of the empty squares in each one of the trees? Doing so in Firefox brings up a menu that allows you to select a, what I think about as, specialization.Yeah, it looks like each "soul" is basically a specialization, and apparently at level cap you have have three specs...I was intrigued by this calculator so I thought I would take a look around RIFT for more info. Apparently, there are 4 classes each with 9 (8+1 PvP) "sub-specializations" (I used a different term because they aren't comparable to WoW specs). Essentially, in WoW you have 10 classes with 3 specs each and here you have just 4 classes but each has 8 (+1) sub-specs. You can concentrate in just one, or spread yourself out among 3 different ones. Each sub-spec has 51 points and you get a total of 66 points. So, you can put all 51 points into one tree and still have 15 points to play with. The unique thing about RIFT is that you can, for example, play a (WoW equivalent) rogue and hunter...on the same character. Since you can have 4 "specs" (instead of the 2 in WoW), each with a combination of 3 of the 8 (+1) sub-specs, you can do this without a huge penalty. You will still need to spec specifically for PvP since, as I mentioned, one of the sub-specs for each class is specifically for PvP as you will see if you check out the calculator. There really is a lot of customization, but that may be a bad thing when it comes to balancing PvP. There's also the chance that certain specs will eventually become the cookie-cutter specs. I guess only time will tell regarding that.So the two big problems I see with RIFT:1. The talent trees and skills (with ranks you have to purchase separately) are extremely similar to WoW pre-4.0.1. In fact, had I never played WoW before and compared the two side by side, I would think they were from the same game. And that includes the icons themselves. The art for some of them appears as though it could have been taken right from WoW. At any rate, this would all be good, except that 4.0.1 vastly improved the trees and removed a lot of bloat which the trees in RIFT still have.2. All the videos I have seen of RIFT show an art style and gameplay that bore the hell out of me. I had no interest in the game until looking at the innovative class customization.Well I got myself a key so I'm interested in trying this out next week. I'm not hopeful, but ya never know.
Does anyone know how to link Wowhead/Zam accounts? I've never made a ZAM account, but I was told that becoming premium means that I have a ZAM account, but I can't log in.<Wowhead Name>|WHFunden|WHHmph. I tried that when I first started, and it didn't work. Still doesn't.
Did you click on the squares in the center of the 3 trees to pick a (is it soul)? I use Chrome and I have no problem as of now. Its actually fun looking through the massive abilites to pair together. Its almost overwhelming I love it!
