Great! Now hopefully the win trading will stop.
Now if only they could re-balance TB win/loss mechanics, I would be happy.
Well, guess its back to getting destroyed on offense. GG
I have to agree, this honorfixing isn't doing anything to address the initial problem. Also, I take issue with this statement:
Blizzard honestly doesn't know what to do with Tol Borad. Yeah, this solution is so much better.(It isn't.)
lol the win trading was a bit silly will be interesting to see what it will be like now.
all i can say is what did thay expect if thay dont want stuff like this to happen then dont make such a badly broken BGCWR
They keep making changes and never addressing the main problem. The Tol Barad mechanic is broken. And they know it. On my server, Wintergrasp was held predominantly by Horde, so much so that the Alliance getting it was a noteworthy event. They're just setting it up for TB to be the same.As for the bridge exploit, that is a result of an imbalance on the number of people allowed into the BG vs. the number of people who want to play. People who are trying to get honor, achievements, etc, will find a way around overly restrictive rules if at all possible.
I'm glad I got my trinket and don't have to bother with Tol Barad anymore. To answer the question "Will this actually help 'fix' the Tol Barad situation?" the answer is definitely no. On my server the alliance held TB since the launch of Cataclysm until they gave the attackers 1800 honor for winning. From reading the forums and talking with friends I know most servers have a similar situation. Attacking in Tol Barad is one of the most frustrating things I've ever done in this game, the reasons for which have been stated over and over in many places. I have to think that the same people that came up with the conditions for winning on offense also came up with the 1800 honor "fix" and didn't see the win trading coming. Obviously 1800 honor every five hours is worth WAY more than the dailies and it is in both faction's best interest to win trade. This "spirit of competition" is just some idea that will get thrown out the window without a second thought as we have seen over and over.
Yeah. Back to square one.The initial fix wasn't really smart but at least it was effective. Now we're back to the first issue : one faction holding Tol Barad for weeks without any hope for the opposite faction to get it back. They should simply give a buff to the offense side for every destroyed tower. Tol Barad being to easy to attack is less of an issue than Tol Barad being to easy to defend.
They need to change the way Tol Barad is won completely. My suggestion (and I haven't thought it through entirely so I'm open to hear any holes) is to make it a 2/3 majority by the time the clock runs out. That'll make it a time game and it won't matter who has a starting advantage. In the case of a tie (each faction has one base) it can go into a "sudden death" type situation. Presumably the third base will be in conflict and whoever captures it first will win. This will make it more about skill and organization since the numbers will be even (more or less).I'm sure there are problems with this idea and I'm sure it's been suggested before. The fact is, throwing honor at the situation didn't help it and reducing the honor didn't either. In fact, there's still talk of win trading on my server because you still get 150ish (according to them, not so sure of this myself) more honor for winning on attack.
To be honest, I'm pretty annoyed. Horde always have TB, but in our Battlegroup, we are losing 3 or 4 games out of 5, so grinding Honour was especially slow. Atleast I got some more Resil (1.6k now), so I'm a little happy.
I would like to see an "area PvP" zone that was not an "attack and defend" situation. I haven't even made it to TB yet, but it sounds pretty similar to what we experienced with WG, where defending was usually much easier than attacking. I would much rather see a similar type PvP more like AV, where you start with equal resources and battle it out for control of the area for a period of time. And each battle starts with the same situation..
Why not just make it so the winner receives the 360 HP and the loser gets the 180 HP (or whatever they actually end up making the final points). Their basic formula for the battlegrounds has worked so far, so why utilize another formula if you already know that servers are very one sided? From what I've noticed on Zuluhed (so far), the horde always try to show up for a fight (offense or defense); however, most of the alliance don't show up to defend. When this is the case, only roughly 8 people per side are ever allowed in. I've read a lot of comments on the horde side from the PvPers and they are really upset that most of them have to wait roughly 5 hours before they can even get a chance to get into Tol Barad.....and it's a measly amount that is received upon winning (due to defending). I'm sure there are other servers with this issue for either side. If Blizzard was so afraid of having the old one sided issues they had with Wintergrasp...why didn't they create just create Tol Barad like a battleground and have people zone in? Is it really that hard to block off the bridges into Tol Barad with a wall or gate (for a more prison feel) and force people to zone into it? Has anyone tried participating in Wintergrasp lately? It's just as bad as Tol Barad, but worse! We have to run around killing guards to get enough marks to build any vehicles because it is nearly impossible to find any members of the opposite faction there!
Nope. It's probably not tomorrow. They're doing restarts.
