I have very few unpredicted problems with the dungeon finder. I like its concept and implementation, really.Going over what you said about making new friends in PuGs, that's hardly possible. With most people being on separate realms, you don't really meet many interesting people on your realm. There are a couple people that I've really wanted to talk to more that I met via LFD, but there's just not much you can do with other people you meet in the game through the dungeon finder.
I think the dungeon finder is a wonderful tool, and it's true: If you don't like the tone in the group, then why stay? We're obviously all playing the game for the fun of it, so why bother ruining the experience... I always do lvl 85 groups with one or more guild mates so trolls aren't really a problem :)
Yea that's a great point -- Why IS everyone always so angry?
pretty much every heroic group ive gotten lately i havent been able to finish the dungeon without people leavingare heroic pugs just getting worse.or do i have bad luck lately, because i mean.i could at least finish 1 of them in a pug and lately i cant even do 1
Increase item level requirement and do not make pvp items boost that stat. Player must quest around and be properly educated about the game and respect his own gear and time before being able to use this tool. Also, make him able to find server group before being able to use said tool, so if he has guildies there may be lower requirement for ilvl to join in.
Picture wins. When I was leveling an Alliance character (back WAY before the Dungeon Finder), I noticed so many male humans using the blood elf spiky hair. Looks awesome on blood elves, but does anyone but me notice how ridiculous it looks on humans?
I've noticed that the dungeon queues on my battlegroup (Emberstorm) have been unbearably long recently. I'm a warlock, so i always get stuck waiting 30+ minutes for a group (20 if i'm lucky) and my own server doesn't have enough people to make guild runs and premades viable. What else am i supposed to do? There is no other way to get good gear after level 85.
Blizz cannot watch all the LFD groups that are made so if there was a way to "punish" the bad players it would have to be something done by the players. the problem with that is that the "bad" players can still say they good ones are bad therefore punishing the good players as well. or if you get into a group and its a guild run and your the only one who is not part of the guild you roll on the boss loot and they do you get it and they call you a ninja looter just because they think they have a right to all the loot and now a good player who doesn't ninja loot gets marked as so. the only way to solve the issue is to just make some friends on your server and set up a time and date where you all get on to run some randoms together. Well thats my input :)
The thing that I think needs to be changed is the ability of people to queue as one role and yet Need roll on items for another role. I cannot tell you have many times I've sat the full 30 minute DPS queue, and then had an excellent physical DPS item taken from me by a Warrior or Paladin tank who claims that "DPS is my main spec, I only tank for shorter queues". It's not fair to those of us who have the patience to wait the queues for these tanks to need on both kinds of gear.
I have had quite a few bad groups using the LFG tool. One of the things is people behaving badly because they are from a different realm and will never be seen again. No consequences to their actions. I also see people needing on the final item weather they need it or not just to ninja it for a few gold. Again no consequences. I also see people playing badly because of the bad habits LK instilled in a lot of people. CC? What is that? Uber raiders used to face-rolling instances are now required to know how to play their role in a group. OMG! I love the LFG tool since I am in a small family guild and it lets me run instances easily. When I have a great group its totally enjoyable and the bad rep PUGs have is tossed aside. But when the group is bad it really ruins my game time.
I noticed that in the dungeon finder alot of people keep asking the same question? Why are you so under geared, which in their minds it means to kick them from the run. And also i noticed a few people say, hey this is a guild run and we get to say whatever we want, and if a certain item comes up we get first choice. How is this fair to all that are running with this guild run but one extra that isn't part of the guild? And another matter at hand since the tank is unexperienced at being a tank, why choose to boot them and talk crude behind there back or tell them and then boot. Everyone is unexperianced at one time or another. How can we fix this problem so people can enjoy the game again?
Yeah.... but what did you do when you join a LFG group at 8am and at 9pm you still haven't complete a single damn group because of terri-bad healers and tanks :/P.d: sorry for my english xD! but i hope you get my point
I only use the Dungeon Queue feature to do a dungeon on random with my guildmates (ie, we pre-compose our group and then spin the random-wheel for which dungeon we do) or when we need one more person to do a heroic (ie, there are only four people on and we'd just need a healer and we'd be good to go).I feel that the majority of the complaints of the "nightmare PUGs" that people encounter are when they're just queuing up solo because they're used to hopping in the LFG queue for 5 minutes and being done with the heroic in 15. The dungeons are hard now and require people to communicate, and that means that the healer that spammed AoE heals on you through a HHoR run now is forced to talk to you, and is now shouting at you. And yes, he's a jerk -- they've ALWAYS been jerks. I reiterate, the average person that queues up solo in LFG is someone who just wants to trip through the heroic and get their points and leave.NOTHING has changed about the temperament of the average person you encounter in LFG. But now that you're forced to talk with them these complainants are now waking up to the reality of what the people they've been running dungeons with for the last year are really like. If people are TRUELY repulsed by the strangers they encounter in LFG they should probably re-evaluate their use of the LFG tool -- it's not the slap-and-go Justice Point feeder that it was in WotLK and people need to stop expecting it to work that way. It's why dungeon queues are 40 minutes long now for most servers -- most tanks and healers do mostly guild-composed runs, like how I do.
Queuing for Queuing sake could be solved by making the "tank" role check that you have a tank spec active... same for healing.. if you are not in a Resto/Holy spec, it is grey'ed out..OR it switches you you when you accept for that role as you port in... -- I known that does not mean they will *do* their job, but it would mean they should at least *be able too*
As DPS, I simply know and play my class.Strong DPS, good CC with interrupts, and not peeling off the tank keeps most people happy.I've found as long as there's no ninjaing within the group, I'm up for whatever little silly plans the rest of the group has.One idea I would like to see though is for people who don't leave early, or AFK when the queue pops to have a higher matching priority than chronic quitters or people that simply don't respond to the queue once it's ready.
"don't deal with it - try to kick the offending player(s) if possible, and if not - don't waste your time on trolls: leave the group."this would be a great idea if you didn't get penalized and a deserter debuff for 30 min after you left? or when people leave over the most ridiculous crap. people die once and leave or don't get the loot they want and leave. i mean really this system is flawed, they should make it so at the end of each dungeon you fairly rate each person in the group and you are grouped with people about your rating. or some sort of system based on performance...force the elitists to deal with each other and let the normal people enjoy the game ect... okay my rant is done sorry >.<
Oh the best is when you finally get in a Dungeon, everyone buffs up, moves to the first pull, and then the tank pulls a big pack and drops group. Just today while in dungeon with my mage, a nice caster neck dropped from the boss, and I rolled need as it was a huge upgrade, and the shaman healer needed as well. When I won it he tried to kick me, reason was I won the neck. Like really? I was pulling top dps every fight, I didn't take extra damage from boss mechanics and/or die to anything, and he wanted to kick me solely because I won the neck. People like that make me not want to do random dungeons. I understand if I had been failing over and over to an explain mechanic and causing the group to wipe or the instance to take longer that it needed to, but its whatever, he will get his in the end.
The biggest problem I have encountered is the "Because We Said So" and let me just say that after spending an hour in a queue to get a group where everyone else is from the same guild and told that I have to do things their way (achieve attempts, for example) when all I wanted to do and all I queued for was a friggin' random is a massive pain in the behind. Blizz - you absolutely created this with the guild system! This mob mentality of 'crush the little guy if s/he doesn't want to do our bidding' is your fault - you have effectively ruined the very system you created to make players' lives easier. So what can a dps player do? Leave or get kicked then sit and waste yet another hour of their life in queue. Guess what - you don't get very far doing that. I think what we're going to see happening soon is no one queuing for randoms unless they're bringing their own posse, which will make filling groups harder because people queuing will be in groups of at least 3, which will also further the mob mentality. Also, due to the lack of skill I have seen in randoms (4k dps in a reg is not ok people, so it's horrible in a heroic. l2play already) individual healers and tanks could very well stop queuing, since the weight of a groups' survival is that much more to bare when you're trying to carry more than half your group through what is currently tough content. I don't know.... you can't heal stupid and stupid weighs too much to carry... at this point, I think we simply need to abandon the dungeon system. It's beyond broken and only a major overhaul could start to fix it.*dismounts soapbox*
