I was hitting the cap by myself when Cata launched, so I understand the nerf. If every size guild can easily hit the cap every day, then whats the purpose of it really? Each guild may as well just gain 60% of a guild level each day.
That really sucks, because I am finding it extremely difficult to get to Perk 1, which I know we desperately need. To hear that it's going to be 4x harder, really makes me lose hope. Please Blizzard, as much as stealth is a good thing, tell us.
As a guildmaster of a small guild, this seriously hurt us. We only managed to get half of the cap today, with four members online questing at all times - a peak for us when we aren't raiding. If we can only get a half of the cap during heavy activity days, we are NEVER going to get to level 25.
this sucks considering my guild is private and only has 4 members >.<
this does make sense, three people in my guild will cap us for the day within a hour or two.
idc. My guild reaches the cap really quick with an average 10 players online at all times. Small or private guilds can't complain since its kind of your choice to be private or not recruit. And if you don't like it cause you can't level your bank-alt's guild or something then you REALLY can't complain since guilds weren't exactly meant for a single individual in the first place lol.
Considering that guild perks are meant for large guilds to accumulate through the contribution of many people, I'm thinking Blizzard isn't particularly concerned about 4 player private guilds. Want the benefit of a guild? Be more social.
I have mixed feelings about this. Seeing as how Cata just came out and people are questing like crazy, it's super easy to get capped with only 3-5 people questing for a couple hours each. But once stuff slows down, I'm hesitant to see how this nerf effects guild leveling.
You don't have to actually gain experience in order to contribute to your guild's leveling process. Completing daily quests at 85 still helps the guild. But the main chunk of the experience should come from dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, and arenas - all those were intended to really move your gLevel up.
i hope its a bug, i dont have enough people in my guild to get the levels at any reasonable rate...
We hit our max in a few hours we are not a large guild its perfect the way it is.Maybe even to easy as is
Two-man guild here so I think you'll have to forgive me when I say, in the words of Nelson Muntz, "HA-Ha!" :D
I don't see how some of you can complain about this. My guild was reaching the daily cap way before the majority of players were logged on. Only 5 people being online seemed to be enough to generate significant amounts of guild xp, enough to reach the cap before noon. At this very moment, 6:50 am EST, we are at 11% of the daily cap with 3 people logged on.You guys have to be doing something wrong.
To be honest, I am in one of the moderate guilds on my server. We haven't had any problems meeting our daily. Most of our xp is coming from leveling, but most of that is because we are waiting for the guild achies until later. The only gripe we have had is with our people not being able to earn guild reputation after their minimal weekly cap, but the guild experience leveling is fine, even with said nerf/bug.
I have to agree we are a very small guild maybe 10 people 30 if you count all the alts and we just don't hit the guild cap. Sure on the first 3 or 4 days we did but that was when 2 of us me and a friend was power leveling to 85
