Test post. Who wants toast.P.S.: Cool feature.
No one cares how much health your warlock has.
Hey, I play on Velen too lol
I find it interesting that at least the initial feedback only seems to be negative from people who aren't Premium. Just sayin'.

Yeah, you don't have to be Premium to say that it detracts from the content, which it kind of does. I think it's mostly the brighter than normal colors.
Personally, i prefere text sigs. That is on "random" forums like wowhead, mmo-champion and blizzard forums. But on a guild site, it's nice to have sigs of a players most used chars. Makes it easy to see the valuable stats for a player in your guild, at least if it automatically syncs with information on the armory. And sorry guys, i have to agree with many other comments: this is not you :(
Its just kinda tacky.I love the concept but it just doesn't seem to fit. Even with just a few people using it atm, I'm finding it hard to read posts without the bars standing out and being distracting. Maybe if there was a transparent option for the gradient background available. That could be less obtrusive.
Actual sig image:A lot of the backdrops conflict greatly with the overall Wowhead style, and having several different ones can be quite overwhelming. I think they would look much better with just a couple gradient options that don't clash with the site's style, then options to have either faction or race as a backdrop. A Horde/Alliance/racial crest in muted, yet appropriate colors would probably look much better. I also don't like the sharp square corners. This is the main problem i have with it as well, the backgrounds need to be sorted and made more consistent with the site.
I find it interesting that at least the initial feedback only seems to be negative from people who aren't Premium. Just sayin'.Not a fan. Then again, I've never been a fan of image signatures (not a huge signature fan in the first place, as you can see by my absent signature). I just don't see the point, and far too often the signatures are larger than the post. The signatures I've seen on the posts in this thread are all very garish and bright -- not exactly an eye-pleasing contrast to Wowhead's normal subdued colors. I think the signatures would look better if they weren't as bright. And smaller. And just text. (OK, just kidding about that last bit. Sort of.)And not really cosmetic feedback, but functional problem: I found my character, but the "Claim Character" button is disabled. I am running Firefox 3.5.9 on OS X 10.4.11, so I'm not sure if it's just an older browser or older OS problem.

For a character that isn't claimed the Signature button will be greyed out and the Claim Character one will be red, on a claimed character the Signature one will be red and the Claim Character will be greyed out. I like the idea of the signatures but not of the colourful backgrounds, I'd prefer them to be in grayscale which would make them blend in a little more.
No, simply because of most of the points above.
I have to say, I agree with the people who say it clashes with the rest of the site. It has sharp edges and color, whereas most of the site is rounded and shades of grey. It has the potential to be great, but not with the options given. Maybe something like Frame's idea would be better.
Based on the feedback, I would recommend offering this for people to use on others forums and such only... many people seem to be concerned about the signatures taking away from the current appeal of Wowhead.
If you do go forward with this, somehow allow users to block all signatures. It's horrible. Like someone else said, "I don't care how much health your warlock has." If you want to show your title, name, guild, and server (IMHO the only "important" info in a gaudy sig), do it in text.It looks bad. I and many others don't care. I come to forums for discussion and text content, not to see big banners with stock Night Elf and Orc pictures and "My Resto Druid has 35694 mana." If I cared who your character was, I'd click on your profile. Please do not implement this. This is one of the reason I hate the MMO-Champ forums.
I must agree with most of the sentiment here.. it clashes a lot with the look of the site at the moment and it distracts a LOT from the information I am here to read. The parts in this thread where multiple users have posted with the new forum sig basically are very annoying to read, it doesn't 'flow' anymore if that makes any sense. I love wowhead for it's clean minimalist setup and I think many others do too, and I think you would kill one of the biggest assets of your site with this.Porcell above me also sums it up pretty well.If you really must have them, I like the suggestions quoted below:I'd like to say that a standard, non-customizable background that meshes with the Wowhead color scheme would be a much better option. Let users pick the stats and possibly the avatar, but the background image should be static and fit the simplistic theme around here. I hope there will be an option to turn off the image based sigs without disabling the text ones if/when this is implemented. I like Frame's idea much more, a simple mouse over that meshes with the site design. It seems to be much more in tune with the current design of the forums.Another suggestion which might or might not be feasible, is to place a sig like this to the right of the text; the place where our avatar is now. Maybe it could be an option to replace your wowhead avatar by a sig that fits nicely in that space. This would make the text in forums a lot more readable since not every thread would be chopped up by dozens of flashy neon colored sigs.
The only real reason I don't like it is that it makes posts larger. I don't read posts/threads so that I can see a large graphic. For me, it's more about the content. Adding a giant flashy sig takes away from the core reason for posting, and is distracting. Now, if you could make the sigs smaller, and put them under the poster's avatar (i.e. off to the side, and not in the middle of reading posts) or something like that. Then, it would be better imho. Also, they do clash with the wowhead design. Maybe muting the opacity by 30% or something if you decide to keep them? Finally - if all else fails, maybe you could give everyone the option to turn sigs off so that you don't have to see everyone's sig. So people who like sigs can see them, and people who don't like sigs don't have to see them. Someone previously mentioned this, and I'm just agreeing with them.
Im liking the feature. Though, couldnt find my current DPS-cloak exactly in the background list :DMy recommendation - maybe add a "slimline" option. Creates a sig logo only a bit taller then the Faction/Race/Class logos, and only supports Name, Level, Server and Guild. For those who may want a little note about their character in their sigs, without the unused space.
It would be cool to have a background that looks like an item tooltip.. make your sig display as if it were an epic item ;)Also on my user page I see no signatures tab after I create it.Edit: nevermind.. just took a while.
As an altoholic, if you're committed to doing a sig generator, could you extend it to the point where it creates a non-flash animated image (rebuilt periodically to grab updates) of all the characters, please? I only know of one other signature generator that does this and it's a very nice feature.
