good, it was stupid gaining 2+ levels in a dungeon run
Yeah, farming dungeons for XP is one thing, but gratuitous amounts of XP from the quests is ridiculous.
I would have to agree with this move. I recently created a Troll druid, since trolls are obviously the coolest race of Azeroth, and by the time I hit Ashenvale, I was already overleveled and had to skip ahead to Stonetalon, all due to quests I had accomplished in Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns, and Blackfathom Deeps. I am 54 now, heading into Winterspring. Areas that I missed because I leveled too fast:AshenvaleRazorfen KraulRazorfen DownsDesolaceUn'GoroShadowfang KeepFeralasDeadminesScarlet Monastery - Graveyard/CathedralMaraudon - Inner SanctumScholomanceAnd I'm sure there are others.Don't even get me started on the fact that not once have I stepped off of Kalimdor. NOW, as a disclaimer, I honestly like the fact that I have two totally separate options for leveling: Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. I really like that we have a choice here. It just means I'll have to A) make an undead hunter, or B) burn through it on an 80.
Love it. Could easily reduce the amount of XP from kills as well, if you ask me.
You poeple are all mad! This is horrible! I am so sick of questing I can't see straight. This was such a nice alternitive.
While I was enjoying getting these "free levels", this is probably for the best.
Good decision.Blizzard spent along time revamping these zones, and they made what was once some very dull and dire quests fun, just for people too do dungeons and skip these places completely. One thing I noticed in the article though, how much have they reduced the exp by?
Yay no more idiots!
I wish they reduced the amount of XP you get from quests at low levels too. I am currently about 5 levels too high for the areas I do and I haven't been to any dungeons yet. Yes, I do use heirlooms, but the 20% XP bonus they give can't be the reason of this, can it?
Hate it, I'm trying to get to 80 on this Orc warrior I made last week. (admittedly I procrastinate a lot) It was great going into a dungeon and getting two and a half levels at a time. If anything the xp from doing regular zone quests is way too high. I'm only level 35ish and I'm getting over 3k xp per quest. It's actually just as fast if not faster to just do regular quests and forgo dungeons.
I agree with the reduction on the QUEST experience. My only issue is what if you actually are doing the quests at the 'right' level and are progressing through the area? Doing a level 40 dungeon with a level 40 toon and doing level 39-41 quests isn't unheard of. That would be unfair to me. If you are strictly doing LFG runs sure this makes a lot of sense.I can assume this applies to no matter how you do the dungeon, whether you get your own group together or use the LFG tool.
I love people’s mentality. Force people to play the way I like! Yeah! Good for you blizzard for taking another leveling option away. I am sure it is still decent XP from mobs. I am still going to level my alts on rest XP and dungeons. It is much more fun than go here, get 10 of these, and come back. Now go back to where you just came from and get 5 of these. Come back... A-g-g-g-g-g..
For those of us who prefer to level quickly, this sucks. For those of you who prefer do do story arcs, then DO THEM. If you're so interested in the story, then go along with it. Should it not matter if you get green quests versus yellow/orange? I loved getting so much experience in dungeons, and all I wanted to do was powerlevel a character as fast as possible. I have another character lined up that I wanna take it slower on.Not good, imo. You still have the choice to do stories, and now those of us who wanted to level faster have gotten that reduced.
Very irritating change.Leveling via instances was how I leveled alts. People are going to level their first main via quests anyway.I would like to see the heirloom trinkets put instance Xp back up for people speed leveling alts.
unfortunately i prefer randoming over questing, so i dislike this change. I've quested through so many characters already, it's a bore even with the new zones. Slap new text on quests all you want, i'm still just collecting X item, killing Y mobs, or collecting X item from Y mobs.Arguably this is the same for raiding, except the fights are (generally) more complex. But something about the dynamic of working with people to do the fights that I've enjoyed for 6 years now. Hence, i like dungeons and raids.Oh well. At least my tauren pally made it to 40 with that exp. What this will realistically mean is instead of skipping from one dungeon to the next, i'll just do a random or two until rested is gone, and then not play my alt until it builds up again. Hooray for slowing down on alt making hehe.
Well... yeah. I'm level 35 and still not out of Arathi Highlands yet because I ran each of the dungeons so far once before I was too high to queue for them because I didn't want to miss them (up through Gnomer and Graveyard, right now). I suppose it's for the best. Though, to be honest... I'm glad I am 35 already... I just want my diseased hawk on my Forsaken Huntress, and then I don't care. I'm fine with 2 levels in 4 hours rather than 5 levels in 4 hours. And, yeah, running around at level 35 with level 20 gear is kind of ghetto, though I still don't have much trouble killing stuff.I'll stop babbling. Good change.PS: They better not change general quest xp. Dungeon quest xp reduction is fine, though.
I actually kind of agree with this. I would do instance runs and be way way over-level for the zone I was questing in. So this will make things a lot more even.
I'm ambivalent. I kinda want to experience the new content without outleveling the new content so fast, but in a year from now it'll be the same old stale questing grind once again.
