IMO not really a great idea, especially for people that do not like questing and are absolutely not interested in the lore. I would gladly lvl 1-85 on dungeons and dungeons quests alone.
I have yet to see a valid argument on why this is a good thing. It used to put you past your levelling zones? Poor thing. Guess what, doing all the quests of a zone means the next zone will have grey quests before you finish it. Even without rested or without heirlooms. It makes you skip the lore? Poor thing. Guess what, you can still do grey quests just fine and follow the lore. On top of it, there is an option to make the grey quests show on your mini-map. Isn't that awesome?Looking forward to seeing the first valid argument in favour of that nerf.
heirlooms can in fact change yoyr whole levelling curve. if youre experiencing the new content for the first time. i would suggest not using shoulders and chest.
This is a good change.XP in dungeons was so huge, you would miss out on questing in the updated zones. While I like levelling quickly, I also like to do some questing and experience the new content.Fantasy MMORPG's are mainly about questing, because it feels like you are part of the story and that you are having some kind of effect on the world.
I've had guildmates asking me to run them through dungeons (on my 80) to block their experience gains so they wouldn't outlevel their current zones afterward. Dungeon XP was pretty stupid.
Hooray for Blizzard responding directly to things I think they should change! http://aeodyssey.blogspot.com/2010/11/old-solution-is-new-issue.html! Bwahaha!
This is good since just dinged 60 before this fix :D
Since all of the quests are now located inside the dungeons and there really isn't any "travel time" like there used to be, this makes sense. Getting 2 or even 3 dings one dungeon run was excessive.Personally, they could nerf outside quest experience, too. I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I'm outleveling areas quickly by just doing initial quests... averaging 3 dings an hour or so, and that's with me taking it slow and reading quest text. I'm sure I'll appreciate this after I've leveled a few alts through the new zones, but it's hard to do a few quests and not outlevel my friends right now!
Awesome change. It's wrong to get two whole levels in a single Ragefire Chasm wrong.
There will be a point when most folks who like the lower EXP gain, will be doing the same stuff a 5th or 6th time and forget they chimed in on slowing down that gain, moaning how slow it all is... LOL
Honestly I started retail just few days ago and already lv 40 but wow leveling via instances was waaay to fast I was left behind a lot of my quests and questing here is really nice specially since last changes
Scholomance was a bit overkill. No joke, you gained an entire level AFTER the dungeon was over just from turning in the quests.
i agree with it and those moaning about "omg i cant level using random anymore"yes you can its exclusively the exp from the questsmeaning your getting the same exp from all the mobs which means the first time you do the dungeon youll get less but the next time will be exactly like how it was b4not that big a deal surely?
I wholeheartedly agree with this change, my dwarf shaman has been leveling WAY too quickly to even just do all the different dungeons that are level appropriate before moving on to higher level ones, not to mention not being able to finish the zone's set of quests before they all end up grey. I'm definitely glad they've changed this.
