Way to nerf mages like they dont already fail as it is.Woah woah woah woah woah woah....woahMages getting nerfed? Fail as it is? Are you sh*tting me? I ran an os 25 3D yesterday and the fckin arcane mage had keybinded arcane blast to every key of the keyboard and just rolled his face all over the keyboard making sure to get as much slobber on the keys and possible and he pulled a whopping 22k dps( i wish i was joking). Me and my measly 8k went in a corner and /wristed after this.
Fire mages spec down to 10% "bonus" from 25%... it's not really a bonus since all specs get this ability for the spells they SHOULD be using. I say this is a major cop-out to "balance" a non-issue. This means that as compared to patch 4.0, mages now inflict 90%, 85%, and 90% of their dps respectively. so if you did 9000 dps as an arcane or frost mage, you're down to 8100 dps...However, as a fire mage, ur looking at a whopping 7650 dps now... that'd get you kicked from most 25hm ICC runs on my server (Illidan).Make balance where balance needs to be, Blizzard. Take note:Pre Cata player gear and respective dps outputs w/i 2 SDs of maximum dps output (realistic avg output for all classes of that gear level).Cata patch 4.1 gear and projected dps estimates within the same 2 SDs of maximum dps output.Figure then, realistically, how much dps you want each class putting out at a given gearscore (i.e. 8800), and then adjust things accordingly for each patch. This way, you can admit to players that you are READJUSTING for new gear that will be in the new patch content, to make balance.Instead what do we get? A game developer that's scaling dps for gear and abilities that (1) the community may or may not even be aware of existing yet, (2) might not be used in a way that the developers expected, (3) Not be that much of an advantage as the nerfs might make them appear to be.I will be very suprised if my guild loses some mages from the sheer loss of patience with generations and generations of dulling to the point of plushie status. It seems each and every time mages are "accidentally" buffed, a firestorm of dps decrease results. Naturally, correcting any mistakes in coefficient numbers is not only expected but wanted! But, going far beyond that, to the point of decreasing the class' damage output in a way that makes them inferior on average to other classes of similar roles is wrong and bound to piss off those of us who cannot simply STOP playing a game we've invested thousands of dollars in gametime. We have spent so much money playing WoW, we should own stock in Blizzard. For us to play characters whose abilities and limits of ability are as fickle as the US government, is almost as annoying as paying taxes for meaningless earmark-ridden endeavors...with one major drawback: we cannot elect a lead class developer based on their promises of balance and/or correction to the worsening issue of nerfing and failures to fix spell and ability scripts as well as item effects and the occasional unexcused inclusion of a bug from beta into the live version...many weeks after player testing and documentation of said bug as a known issue./rant
^^ I love the guy that posted before me. It's the most intelligent thing I read in the whole post. Not that arcane mages DIDN'T need to be kicked square in the junk. They really, really did need that. It's just too bad it's not really a nerf, it's just a tooltip update. For blue posters just reading the last post, let me sum it up. QQ QQ QQ QQ QQ QQ. arcane mages are still overpowered. rogues didn't get a nerf or a hug. SHAMMIES NEED LOVE TOO. QQ QQ QQ QQ. BTW. Shammies do still need love. When you nerfed all the buffs, (with good reason), you failed to take into account how much each class actually benefited from said buffs. For instance, cough, enhancement shamans benefitted the most out of every class and spec from buffs. I'm guessing that's why I'm now an elemental shaman. Fix enhancement, I click 2 buttons and wait 5 seconds before I can do anything else. I'd really like you to undo what you did to Fire Nova. That might actually help. And, seriously, it's not going to be a queue waiting on tanks in cata. It's going to be waiting on healers, because it's !@#$ing impossible to keep people alive with your stupid ass throughput. I don't care about the mana issues, that was supposed to be an improvement. But you've nerfed the ever loving $%^& out of throughput. As in, heals per second. I don't know why you did that. I really don't. Please fix it. BTW. I know this isn't the official forums. I've already posted there. This is my rage forum. Leave me be.
I'm not saying that Arc mages weren't OP, just saying fire mages, played the way they are below metagaming and using calculus for stat point maximization got hit hard. 15% total damage reduction... wont be able to make that up in mastery rating until 85
Nerf Paladins, buff everyone else.......2 months later do the Opposite...$%^&ING FAIL ASS BLIZZARD...ROFL
I love when people freak out about Arcane Mages DPS in 20 second fights such as 3D sartharion. In real fights such as heroic LK arcane mages are just battling with the other classes that aren't broken (hunters have it bad atm). This is of course after the 25% >> 15% change.Just remember QQing about a DPS chart for 20 sec fights only reflects your noobiness.
Yay buffs for everyone (me)!

This is of course after the 25% >> 15% change.Just remember QQing about a DPS chart for 20 sec fights only reflects your noobiness. That would be the form ignorance you need to expect on the internet. People still ignore the constant comments about how these are mostly TT-changes, and not actual spell-changes. But then again, the people who complain about this, is probably the same people who post current fight recount statistics, where they did nothing but AoE the crap out of 15 mobs at a time. I've seen warriors do this excessively, and mages likewise. Or people who end out after the whole dungeon with a dps far and above everyone else, who only post dps-meters. And generally, it is the same people who are sitting on 4-5 % of the total damage done throughout the whole dungeon. Those who complain are mainly* people who aren't completely sure what they are doing, and liked the OPness they could achieve without really trying. This is why we've seen tanks disappear, and people complain their class can't tank anymore as well. If any class really were as f****** as some of you seem to imply, please explain why even the insane raiders, who require 6k+ GS to enter raids like ICC10 normal or Ulduar 25 don't care that much about your class? I've heard people say druids now suck - Funny, since i've seen the exact setup I just explained, ask for Mages and Druid Tanks. Go play the game. Skill always beats stats, so even if your spells doesn't allow you to out-dps everyone else, you skill might allow you to. If Gear and spells are all that matters to make a good class, explain to me why i've seen these so called OP Arcane mages patch 4.0.0 do no more than 2,5k dps in Random Heroics, and this is mages sitting at 6k GS. Noobs will be noobs, and pros will adjust, and remain pros, as long as they are willing to. *I said mainly. Some pro-players complain as well, but we are talking the minority here. Most are able to adjust, and know their class isn't anywhere near broken. I've seen Hunters perform well overall, admittedly in Random Heroics, but still well, and almost better than some other classes. I believe Memesis' template applies to half of all the QQ comments not only here, but on any other wow-forum as well. Guys, Blizzard isn't after your class. They don't favorize anyone. Name 1 class, and I can explain why they aren't as favored as you seem to believe. Paladins? Check their healers. AoE heal is bad, and compared to any other healer, almost non-existant. People complaining about their healers getting a "nerf" in their blanket heals, are stupid. Especially because Paladins are OP tank healers anymore either. And i'm a Druid/shaman healer, so this isn't biased at all. I don't heal on my Paladin, because I dislike their healing method. They really should utilize the previous mentioned method. Check Itemlevel, determine "how much damage do we want people to dish out at this level of gear?", and balance out abilites, talents, glyphs and so on, based on this. Personally my favorite suggestion so far. Another issue we have here, is that people doesn't know what Blizzards plans are. Healers aren't supposed to be able to multiheal 10 targets at once, while making dinner and watching TV at the same time. The point wasn't to make healers need to look at their mana pool, and remember to stay mana/heal-effective, it was to make Healers less OP. When someone %^&*s up, and pulls another group by accident, you are meant to die. All of you. And if you, as the DPS, have no idea what you are doing, and pulls from the tank, regardless of aggro-warnings, you die. And you aren't going to blame the healer for it. Prepatch, i've seen dps, especially the plate classes, yell at the healer for being a noob, for the stupid reason, that the healer wasn't able to outheal the damage done to them. They even somehow managed to kick the poor guy - when all they SHOULD have done, was wait for the tank to aggro first, instead of dashing right into the middle of the fight, and drop DnD, almost before the tank even noticed what was going on. So in short, Blizzard want to make the game more punishing for noobs who are too stupid to care about things like threat. But let's wait and see what Blizzard plans for us, because frankly, all we can do is guess. We don't know what they intend to do, but so far, they haven't failed at pleasing us. If they had, people wouldn't complain about a new change, unless they are dimwitted idiots.
You guys know that pretty much all of these changes are just tooltip updates for a hotfix that happened a month ago? I don't follow any of the other classes, but the Balance Druid and Mage nerfs have been in almost since 4.0.1 hit.
Either way, sure hope they fixed the glyph issues for classes that've been known since 4.0.1 PTR...
My favorite characters are mages, so the reduction in damage is going to hurt, but I can deal with it. What hurts me most in a group is Tanks that don't know how to stand and deliver. They cut my dps by a freaking huge margin. You want to play with a mage, remember they get their best damage with AoE on groups. So cluster up the enemies in one spot and keep them there. Your healer can keep the tank up, everyone can wear them down, and the mage plasters everything with damage. The kangaroo 'tanks' would be utterly shocked to see how fast the foes die if they do that. As to the bouncing tanks. Your jumping and running around doesn't reduce your getting hit in the slightest out of PvP, but it does F-up a lot of spellcasting by your group. STOP IT. You're a TANK, not a freaking JETPACK JR. You need to STAND AND DELIVER. You have HP, and Armor, and a healer backing you up. Don't be afraid to do your job.Sorry, got distracted by one of the dumbest new trends I've ever seen. Basically I can live with this, so long as I have a party that can do their jobs in cooperation. Nothing Blizzard has done to anyone even comes close to what Sony did to Enchanters in the original Everquest. Let's put it this way, has anyone organized a sit-in to protest what was done to one class by everyone who doesn't play that class while those that do play that class don't do so during the protest? It happened. (And one of the bigwigs got so pissed off he popped in as a giant gnome avatar of the god bristlebane and threatened to permaban everyone. F-N A-hole.) Has anything like that ever happened in WoW? Not even close? That's right. WoW may stir the pot and occasionally goof up, but they are trying to make it better for everyone and they don't have an axe to grind, so stop the QQ and learn how to work with your groups.
''Skills always beat stats'' :DDDDDASDASDKALSDDDDDD Oh, and did I forget to mention, :DDDD?Arcane mages? I'm playing one as my main, no matter the skill, if there's 2 arcane mages and the other one is better geared and not totally retarded (Ie. not suffering from Down syndrome or something) then the mage with better stats win. Actually, if you could make a machine to press a single button on your keyboard every 1,8 seconds, and make the machine do it while playing on your 6k gs mage, you will EASILY beat the 5,5k gs mage, who has ''mad'' skills. SO NO, SKILLS DON'T ALWAYS BEAT STATS. It's not a skill to learn to time your button pressing. It's just common sense. Stats are the thing that separates people at the moment. And that is good, because you can check someone's stats BEFORE raiding with them, rather than risk taking a newly dinged scrub to leech on the raid with his ''skills'' and green gear.
Does Blizz hate boomkins or something? Why couldn't they just keep boomkins the way they were?
Does Blizz hate boomkins or something? Why couldn't they just keep boomkins the way they were?Blame moonfirelol
Several important notes I just gotta throw out there:1- Blizzard has regained there balls. I must say I'm happy with this so far, people will either have to learn to play properly or GTFO (Friggin finally) which is amazing.2- For anyone that says something is "nerfed" so far I on my warrior, have outperformed damn near everyone as everything. I have seen in all honesty, not a single effing nerf to my class at all besides threat acceleration, and at 85 that goes back to normal.... but hey were the single most gear dependant class in all of WoW, always have been and always will be. You expected to be the tanking king of kings during the LEVELING process? rofl. Same goes for other classes, mages shaman priests pallies rogues everything does MORE damage healing and tanking now than it used to, if you know how to play your class. great examplehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ISsOjfHgtwsand#3:Has anything like that ever happened in WoW? Not even close? That's right. WoW may stir the pot and occasionally goof up, but they are trying to make it better for everyone and they don't have an axe to grind, so stop the QQ and learn how to work with your groups.Yes actually, several times. Something I can name right off the top of my head that I was not around for but remember, quite vividly, is the Great Flask Nerf of Vanilla. Ya see, the dude that got me into wow played during vanilla and popped up in high school pissed as HELL about this when it happened, and this is how I learned about WoW. What that was, is back in the day we could STACK flasks. You wanted more HP for tanking? Stack hp flasks. more AP? Eat 10 AP flasks. Well people complained that it was too expensive to go buy 10 flasks for a raid... so blizzard solved it. Now we cant stack flasks anymore. GG.

Therefore there's no need to conserve mana and an arc mage can spam arcane blast freely, resulting in such high dps. Honestly, I don't know why people complain about arc mage dps on >30 second fights like this.
what did us balence druids do people need to learn to deal with a balence druid not nerf us i used to do a mil in an arena now i barley do half that thanks blizzard and in dungeons and raids its worse please un nerf us
I wish QQ balence sucks now :(
