80 people per faction? holy &*!@ lets hope its not a part of eastern kingdoms and lag the whole continent like WG did. for northrend other than that this sounds like itll be a lot funner than WG cuz to me more people involved= more chaos which of course = more fun
horray for another failed attempt at world pvp by blizzardcant wait til i see a hundred siege vehicles driving aroundIn order to destroy the defenders' towers, attackers will have access to an all-new type of war machine: Abandoned Siege Engines.yep, gratz blizzard for yet again failing at world pvp
Vehicle mechanics is not why Wintergrasp fails. Also, you can't say that Tol Barad will be a failure of world PvP until you've tried it. To do otherwise is to claim clairvoyance.
Also, you can't say that Tol Barad will be a failure of world PvP until you've tried itummit has vehicles in it.maybe other people who have only pvped in world of warcraft think thats how pvp is suppose to be.but it isnt,my idea of pvp is you know players fighting other players.not players fighting siege vehicles
Wintergrasp failed because world pvp is pretty much only fun when it's driven by players. Have you ever had fun in WG, or on a for the alliance raid? No, because you're there for a goal. I raided Razor Hill with a few people from trade, and it was the most fun I've had in a long time. The raids in vanilla on southshore were possibly the funnest though.
these machines cannot attack players or buildings while the vehicles are being driven. Instead, players must drive them within range of a tower and jump out, allowing the vehicle to transform into an automated cannonPay attention, children. Also: Have you ever had fun in WG, or on a for the alliance raidUh, yes, actually I have. A lot of fun. You're saying goals immediately make it not fun. So raiding isn't fun? Battlegrounds aren't fun? Levelling? Why do you play the game, exactly?
Vehicle mechanics is not why Wintergrasp fails. Also, you can't say that Tol Barad will be a failure of world PvP until you've tried it. To do otherwise is to claim clairvoyance.Agreed.I wasn't much of a fan when it came to Wintergrasp. It quickly lost its new smell and became rather tedious and boring after just a few battles. And it would be completely irresponsible to speculate on how Tol Barad will perform until we've had a chance to try it out.
people who have only pvped in world of warcraft think thats how pvp is suppose to beSince you're so fond of omitting large portions of the thought at hand...WSG - Used to be horrible due to the lack of a time limit. One team could turtle and drag out the match for no real reason.AB - I enjoy it. Land Grab is more preferable to CTF for me.AV - It's alright. Groups and map is too large for my taste, and the way it's played seems to have shifted since TBC when I was really into it.EotS - I really enjoy this one.SotA - Feels like WG Lite to me. Also dislike the round mechanic.IoC - Never played it.WG - It's not the siege mechanic that turns me off. It's the fact I'm Horde on an Alliance dominated server, don't PvP during the server's peak population, and getting anything but a preformed raid to listen to a plan is like herding cats. I kinda enjoyed it before the queue when raids formed on their own, but I can see that causing more imbalance than I experience on some servers.I don't dislike PvP and will probably participate in some Rated BGs in Cata, but for the most part I find it too time-dependent for getting a team with a decent shot on performing well.
Some of us prefer siege engines, you know
Some of us prefer siege engines, you knowand some of us dont.if i wanted vehicle combat id play call of duty
Ok, if you don't like the WoW vehicle mechanic, either play any BG other than SotA, or don't be on vehicle duty.
Have you ever had fun in WG, or on a for the alliance raid? No, because you're there for a goal.Oh I'm sorry, I forgot that you control what I find fun or not.I actually have a lot of fun in WG, even though as alliance on a horde dominated server we don't win WG that much (I've noticed that we've been losing more in recent months though). I prefer attacking rather than defending though, because you don't get stuck in just one spot.
Ok, if you don't like the WoW vehicle mechanic, either play any BG other than SotA, or don't be on vehicle duty.thats not the point.the vehicles shouldnt be there in the first place
Says you. I don't mind the vehicles, and I think there are people in this thread that think they are great.
Says you. I don't mind the vehicles, and I think there are people in this thread that think they are great.good for them, there probably the same people who havent pvped in any other game besides world of warcraftbut whatever,i guess my point is.pvp should be player vs player, not player vs siege vehicle
So...siege engines aren't driven by players? And who gives a flying $^& if they haven't played other PvP styles. If they like WoW's model, I don't think playing a different MMO's PvP will really change that. WoW is not a PvP-centric game. Of course, other games will do PvP better*.*Entirely subjective. What one person dislikes, several people could enjoy immensely.
*Links successful troll picture I am too lazy to look up for real*I'll just leave this here.
Based on his history, I don't think he's a(n) (intentional) troll.
So...siege engines aren't driven by players?nevermindyou dont see my point
I see your point, you dislike the vehicle mechanic. Sadly for you, you don't work at Blizzard with the ability to say "PvP should not consist of vehicles." Honestly, there are only so many ways to do PvP with just players running around doing objectives. Vehicles add more options. If you don't like vehicle-driven PvP, don't do it. It. Is. That. Simple.
