My last requirement is DMF which Im working on as fast as I can. Sunday Dec. 5 until Saturday Dec. 11 is the last DMF before Cataclysm hits on Tuesday Dec. 7!So, knowing that DMF faction will exist in Cataclysm (we've all seen the 85 trinkets) does that mean that I will be able to recieve the Feat Of Strength if I go Exalted some time after Dec. 7?
"It's possible that in some very specific situations where someone has completed the reputations which are being removed, but not others that will still be in the game, that it can still be completed."Now for anyone with decent reading comprehension this infers that if you were to get the reps that are being removed (e.g. shen'drelar) you could then get the remaining ones after cata hits and still get the achievement. There is nothing in the blue quote that would indicate what was speculated in the last paragraph of this postBut if it's no longer a criteria, then why would it matter? It's not going to historically remember that you had some criteria that no longer is actually a criteria, it just doesn't work like that. Bashiok's post was made before Shen'dralar was removed, therefore his statement simply says if you complete all of the reputations required (including "others that will still be in the game") then it can "still be completed."It looks to me like he was just pointing out that when Shen'dralar was still a requirement, you could have earned it but not the others then finished the others when Cataclysm came out and get the Feat. Now since it's no longer a criteria, I don't see what would keep you from simply earning all of the appropriate reputations post-Cataclysm (though from what I understand Booty Bay is supposed to be significantly harder due to removal of certain repeatable quests.
lol... removing one of the hardest and most expensive reputations... doesn't make the title easier to get AT ALL..... not.The title rewarded for this version of the feat should be changed to "The Slightly Insane".I'm not usually one to complain about them making the game easier but this is ridiculous. The whole point of this feat was that it was hard and insanely annoying to do and the Shen'dralar was a big part of that. Just removing it, making it easier to get, destroys the whole point of this feat of strength. FFS why can't they for once stick to what they said and simply make it unobtainable with Cataclysm and that's that....

Removing the achievement completely on such short notice would piss off many people, who are in the middle of their grind. And ye scratching out the Shen'dralar requirement makes it much less "special" and worthy. Maybe Blizz might find a way to scale the things. They could make the other criteria more difficult to obtain, than they allready are... So that it remains as challenging and so the folks who allready done it and suffered the pain would not feel the injustice that much ..
The title was never hard to get. It's just tedious (hence insane).Besides, this happens all the time. Some examples...I, for one, grinded Wintersabers back when it took forever. Now it can be done a lot faster, as you no longer get 1/10th of the rep from killing grey mobs (and not even 1/5th, but the full 1/1), and the quest rep is greatly increased. In fact, the whole achievement system is slightly off in that it was implemented at the end of TBC. I had done loads of things before that and become more casual for WotLK, though you get like 6000 achievement points for raiding in WotLK, and 200 for raiding pre-WotLK, which you even had to revisit after the implementation (The actual numbers are quite different, but since I don't have them at hand, I just took some arbitrary ones). They were even thinking about removing the old PvP titles so they could reuse them at some point, which pissed off my Grand Marshal friend who only has that title to show for his dedication back then. I'm not sure if they're still planning to reuse them, or if they changed their minds for now.If you got the title, good for you. Perhaps you even have the date locked (though achievement dates tend to "reset" when they're updated). The thing is, almost no one but you yourself care, and again, this happens all the time in various areas.</rant>
Can't imagine Blizz would award the title under "all but" circumstances--if you have all exalted but for Shen'drelar, I wouldn't hold my breath for a magical title award after that faction becomes extinct. Just because you can't get more rep with the faction doesn't change the fact that the rep is required. It may be slightly different, but when 4.0.1 came out, I had a toon at 392/400 for "Did Somebody Order a Knuckle Sandwich?", and 3/4 for "Master of Arms". Since weapon skill was removed in the patch, so were those potential achievements. Hope this ach is still available after Cat arrives, but I doubt it.
Evening there. My personal opinion is that Blizz make a mistake here. When cata come on Beta said us that * Insane in the Membrane * will not be removed. They come after 2 months and told us it wont be removed but u cant cant take the tittle plus the achiev if u dont have the Shen'dralar reputation.Personaly i spent more than 25k gold and enough hours of farming Dm for librams and pristines the last 2 weeks so i can get the Achiev. It's not fair for many peeps. An award should be nice for Shen'dralar reputation. The tittle insane is not the same for me anymore. And i thing for most of the players that trying to get these achieves.excuse me for my English. My Greek r much Better ^^.Hope For a blue post that can tell us more infos about this achiv. And ofc for Shen'dralar reputation and if we will gain something in Future.T.c guys.
So you're saying me selling al my PBDs 3 days ago was the smart thing to do?... Perfect!
Hmm - not sure if I should go finish this grind, but I'm just tired of searching through Plaguelands for Blood of Heroes.. then again, I have tons of pristine black diamonds ;)

Well, i'm not surprised or upset that blizzard removed it from the feast of strength . it was bound to happen as many players "like" to grind for it and would be utterly disappointed when all their effort go to waste.Edit: blizzard gave love to those who did shen'dralar; my QQ was therefore meaninglesstime to get lockboxez!
In the meantime, anyone else out there celebrating? :)Yesssss! I've already put a ton of time into getting the title, but I got lazy and was stuck on those smelly elves. I had decided to just give up when the removal was announced, because well... trying to get exalted with them in that length of time would do nothing good for sanity.Much love to all you crazy people out there who did it the hard way though. You should get an extra insane title or something. (Assuming it really does end up changing, of course.)
In the meantime, anyone else out there celebrating? :)And this is what is wrong with WoW today.YAY I CAN GET PURPLES IN A GAME EASIER...why? It's a game. When something in game becomes easier to get...it diminishes its value...but of course you have dumb kids and ridiculous nerds who play this game for the purples or to get their trivial BS and pretend it means something so they can put themselves on the level of players who did it when it was hard.Like I said, I don't particularly care about this change, but I loathe this mindset.Hell, the entire point of the achievement is that it was designed to be obscenely hardcore and time-consuming to get. A nerf defeats the entire point of the achievement. And it proves why these so-called "casuals" are full of it and really just hardcore bads who want to put themselves on the level of skilled players without making effort. Why would anyone be glad they can get a title in a game when it ceases to mean what it did?
LOL thinking pixels in a game "means something" and crying about it hardcore. It just means you hardcore fail at priorities in life, and your many protestations about "not caring" are so much blather.Someone who really doesn't care wouldn't waste so much time being insulting and acting superior about a game *they don't even PLAY ANYMORE* on a message board for people who do play. Why would anyone be so mad about something so trivial, when they profess not to care about or wish to play the game at all? It's a game. None of it requires true effort, because it is all PLAY. Recreation.Acquiring a college education requires effort and is an accomplishment worthy of praise and recognition.Becoming the owner or CEO of a successful corporation is an accomplishment that requires much hard work and dedication.Raising children to become productive members of society is hard work and "means something" much more than pixels on a screen.Yes, I know I too am griping on a message board about video games, I guess I just finally had my fill of Aestu and his constant whining.
LOL thinking pixels in a game "means something" and crying about it hardcore. It just means you hardcore fail at priorities in life, and your many protestations about "not caring" are so much blather.Oh my God can we let this one die. It's at least five times as annoying as Aetsu. To be honest, 'it's at least five times as annoying as Aetsu' applies to like 90% of the posts made in response to his posts.
And this is what is wrong with WoW today.YAY I CAN GET PURPLES IN A GAME EASIERI don't think the celebration is necessarily because it will be easier - but rather because it will still be obtainable at all. That's my stance on it at least.I'd be perfectly fine with them leaving the Shen'dralar requirement there, if they still existed and there was a way to work on it. I think I'd even prefer it that way than to remove one requirement completely. (Or even putting in an equally obnoxious equivalent.) It sucks for the people who did it the hard way, no question. That doesn't mean I'm not glad that I still have a chance though. I've already put a lot of work into the title, and for a while it looked like all those hours would have been wasted. Now they might not be after all.In general though, I do agree with you to a point. I dislike the sense of entitlement that a growing number of people seem to have, I'm just not sure it applies in this case. And I'm not sure this particular title ever meant anything, when the vast majority of the populace has no idea what it is or what went into it. It's never implied skill, only dedication - and most wouldn't even recognize that.
The title rewarded for this version of the feat should be changed to "The Slightly Insane".I was thinking "The Eccentric" myself, given the heavy nerfs to this feat of strength. Taking Shen'dralar requirement out removes the last "real" grind from the achievement that was originally intended to reward crazy rep grinders. All that's left is a few light evenings of BB Bruiser / Syndicate slaughter plus some gold for DMF decks and lockboxes. Grats, the new breed of Insane.Edit@ KittyKat - your argument can go both ways. If all these pixels are completely meaningless, why get upset when a title or a mount becomes unavailable? Why say that time and gold put into some achievement or other is "wasted" if all this is just "recreation", and nothing else? If a pixel reward is indeed meaningless, why do we assign meaning and value to cheap plastic trophies we earn in sports IRL? Just something to think about.
