I believe it will soon stay longer and spawn faster as the event gets further on. Like with the zombie plague. it got harder to deal with and harder to get rid of.
Had a well thought out post but lost it, I didnt get the buffs doing the rifts when I had dropped my totems, but got it when I didn't drop my totems. If you are having trouble getting the buffs for the achievement, Try doing it without any active class buffs. may help.
right it is. I just found an Earth rift in Azshara on my 80 paladin. My question is for anyone who knows, do I have to get all the 60 minute buffs at the same time to get the Feat of Strength? I really don't care about anything except the feat.Tripping the RiftsThese Elemental Rifts are level specific. So, for example, all level 80 characters will have to kill rifts in Northrend locations to get credit for this achievement, while level 60 characters can kill rifts in Silithus, Western Plaguelands, or other level appropriate zones that spawn rifts. No, you can kill any level rift, but in order to get the mysterious object you have to kill a rift of your own level.I was wondering about that. Killed a rift in the barrens and didn't get a quest. Thanks.
I'm not so sure that the rifts opening on the hour is correct. Last night on Bloodhoof-US the rifts were, according to the in game clock, opening at 10 minutes before the hour (XX:50) meaning that if the rifts disappeared in 10 minutes, anyone looking for them on the hour exactly would be out of luck.Yesterday I closed a wind rift in Southshore. The rift appeared shortly after I landed, which was 2:30 local time. Killed elementals, got the wind buff.In the Wetlands, I found a "phantom" rift. One that I could see from a distance, but disappeared as I got close. I stood around for a minute as I was looking up other regions for water rifts. The clock ticked over to "something o'clock" (I forget the hour, but the minutes were zero). Poof! Water rift. Killed elementals, got the water buff.So there definitely appears to be some variance in the times.
I arrived at Hrothgar's Landing, just to see the rift despawn at 22:50, with 3 mobs left to kill. Then later at 23:40 they respawned again, this time I did kill em all. Then I went exploring other zones, and found a fire rift in Zul'Drak at Rageclaw's Den, near the lake. Closed that one too. Then I was in Crystalsong just on time to see the wind rift there despawn at exactly 23:50.Pattern?Anyhow, I'm on the EU realm Nagrand, in case anyone wants to know.PS: Have yet to see any rifts outside these 10 minutes of time.
Is it in specific subzones, or throughout the zone as a whole?
