C.R takes a fast round 2!Warlocks - if you PvP, do you prefer a particular spec in Arena? There seems to be some debate here!
Seems they're using a 3.x build for this tourney... Just thought that was interesting...
To LCA's credit, amazing job winning round 3. The length and intensity of these fights is amazing...
I'm a huge fan of PvP, I always get dreadfully bored of PvE as I'm unable to dedicate time to the game to play new content all the time - leaving me stuck repeating older content and doing the occasional PuG and I can't stand doing the same content over and over. PvP always feels fresh - unless you have to do the same BG over and over because the "random" battleground won't be random..I tried to watch some of the arena earlier but it was terrible quality and I couldn't work out how to increase the quality - that and I was a little sore that I had to download a proprietary player to watch it - anyone able to point me somewhere (other than buying a virtual ticket :P)?EDIT: Looked again when it wasn't stupid o'clock in the morning and noticed the option to view in flash player :)Also, to add something in, I play a Priest... Disc pre 4.0, Shadow post 4.0 (because Disc seems to just get destroyed* unless you stack resilience in every slot .. which feels cheap and I think you'd then be forgoing your ability to save others if they are focused)*Patch 4.0, day 1: Tried dueling a couple of mages and a lock and got killed in a matter of seconds within a silence or a fear each time, with 1200 resilience - was not impressed. Then went into a BG and was getting destroyed over and over every time I left the graveyard... so then I specced Shadow and the pain stopped
So I took a long break to eat and see Tenacious D and THESE GUYS ARE STILL AT IT.Dude.THIS IS SUCH AWESOME PVP.Do any of you compete in Tourneys?
If I did arena on my lock, I would go destro as WoTLK is all about burst. You seem pretty excited GGG :3
And Complexity.Red wins the day. AMAZING PLAYING by both teams. That was incredible. Probably the coolest arena fights I've ever seen.Hope some of you got to see those fights!
Hmm Just asking but why post this in General Forums when we have a PvP Forum?
Thread relocated to PvP forums for both cleanup and (hopefully) feedback. How many of you closely follow these tourneys?
I usually follow the results of the tourney rather than the actual replays themselves. I didn't pay much attention to this particularly tourney, due to the fact they're operating under 3.X builds when we're on 4.0 currently, so any experience we could have gleaned would not be particularly useful.Arena is amazingly fun, provided that you have the gear and some dedicated teammates to play with. I've never gone particular far on live arena seasons, as my friends and I don't raid, and contrary to what many people say, having access to raid gear makes the ride considerably easier. My friends and I did participate in the this year's Arena Tournament, and were considerably vindicated by our performance. Having a level playing field in terms of gear made it a great experience, and I'm happy that in Cataclysm, entry gear will be available for all without rating requirements.
" they take home $75,000 and championship rings as a grand prize!" What would a WoW arena tourney championship ring look like? Sounds like it'd be bad %*#
Its only a skirmish but imo its one of the best arena match EVER.I was playing spriest and my partner is arms warrior, our opponent was ( unfortunately ) Resto dudu and ele sham. They focus fire on the warrior and ignoring me, i took this advantage to mana burn dudu. But shammy got some great bursts on my part, he was down to 6k health and he SW-ed.. I panicked and start spamming renew, PW:S, PoM, and few fheal.. That time i think dudu popped inv, and back to 80% mana. Ele shammy was oom and we decided to go for the kill on druid. We really put massive pressure on the druid, silence + 75% mortal + slow + fear completely locked down the druid. He pooped barkskin and Beared. But, that causes us to tunnel vision (which is gonna cost us later) and we forgot about the shaman, he got full mana, CD-less, and ready to throw down Thor-godlike Wrath on us, which he did. Were both down to <10k and trying to LoS the ele. (this is the $%^& right here)We barely managed to LoS the shammy, i start to heal ourself with my last 5k-ish mana, we got ourselfs in a tight situation. And we just gonna go Bombarded the druid with all whats left.. And it worked! Druid was caught off guard and shammy was chasing us but got LoS-ed when we dpsed on the druid. Shammy is now on range and casting up to finish my 6k hp, and the druid too, cycloned the warr.. and i just relaxed cus im gonna be dead in the next 5 secs. But... the warr trinked, Interventioned, and Spell reflection is up. Reflected starfire and double lbolts from overload.. BAM! out of nowhere druid is dead cus of rend, and the shammy was dotted up to death, the warrior death was heroic... lol
Just a little correction, *aAa* did won this competition :)You can see the final match here.(don't pay attention to youtube comments, expected stupid flame war)
