I hope this means that 70 twinks will be unable to buy gear >:). (Just a personal hate.)
You can get some valor points for your daily Cata heroic too as you can with frosties now.
Cata-gear costs are linked on page one.
-1 observation points
So, will it be worth it to save my JP instead of buying my T10, or should I just get my gear?
Why should i go 10 man raid & riskng,if i can do daily heroic dungeon instead, which will give me the same amount of Valor points? You gonna wipe out 10 man raids for ever...
Oh noes. The pixel color is different?
what about BC dungeons and raids
Nice to see that the 155 triumph and 85 frost will only get me 1 item with this new system. and will that mean that you will no longer beable to get the old gear if you so wanted?
All the old gear will be on the Justice Point system as well.
There seems to be a ton of misunderstanding of how this will work.@85 in patch 4.0.xHeroic bosses will drop JP which allow you to purchase high level blues that are equivalent to heroic boss dropsT11 raid bosses will drop VP which allow you to purchase T11 epics and gear equivalent to T11 piecesDuring patch 4.1.xHeroic bosses and T11 raid bosses will drop JP which allow you to purchase T11 epics and gear equivalent to T11 piecesT12 raid bosses will drop VP which allow you to purchase T12 epics and gear equivalent to T12 piecesand so on...This is not in place to get the "bads and casuals" into epics, it is done this way so that fresh 85 toons can get into the current tier without having to grind out of date raids. If they don't structure the currency like this, your guild will have to drag your sorry goblin/worgen through old raids if you want to get him into current tier raids before 5.x. Imagine that your guild loses a healer today and you can't find one on your server. Instead of having a guildy re-spec and grind heroics for a weekend and moving on, you would have to run that toon through Naxx for 5 weeks, Ulduar for another 5 weeks and finally TOC for 5-weeks before he could enter ICC. 2 progressive tiers of currency is very good for hardcore raid guilds, quit acting like babies because your gear is only "special" until the next patch drops
How about a method similar to the current arena model. Using T13 as an example: Get T13 for full VP cost, T12 at discounted VP cost, and T11 at JP cost. I don't think having to fall back one tier to gear up a new raider is that harsh, but I'm also not going to complain if they stick with the current plan.It is, after all, their game.
I personally don't think non-current raids should stop awarding VP. I think the difference in item price should be adjusted in such a way that running those raids could still lead to getting current-tier gear. However, the points awarded compared to the cost would make those raids less efficient than current raids. This way, there's still balance, and guilds struggling with current-tier can still get raid points and, in a longer time, get gear to help them on the current tier.
