It's still an exercise in human-verification technology, regardless of what words appear on the screen. Regardless of what words appear, we still prove that we're not a software agent. The only time I've needed to refresh is when they add in non-English characters. I can never remember the ASCII codes for those off the top of my head.
I'm glad that ReCAPTCHA are looking at fixing this. It's become a huge nuisance.
Maybe it's just me, but it didn't bother me I just refreshed until I got one I can read lol
Another solution... just buy Premium and the need to enter ReCAPTCHA will go away completely! :)
The non-standard characters in any ReCaptcaha (several sites I use use it) are annoying, they really should screen/filter those in general. Maybe dump one if so many people refresh past it? I like the principal behind ReCaptcha a lot, but I have noticed that the quality of them has gone down a lot lately, and it's starting to get annoying. Having to refresh 8-10 times to get one that's English, no non-standard characters, and at all readable is a bit annoying.
Lol, those are tamil characters in that pic. Me, living in a state next to the one which speaks tamil, can't read it either but can recognize it.
Luckily, I'm fluent in over six million forms of communication.I mean...luckily I pay not to have to enter those. :)
I got one where I had to type in the equation for slope of a line once...
I got one where I had to type in the equation for slope of a line once...y=mx+b that's not hard. :PEdit: That's actually slope-intercept form of a line. Slope of the line would be m=y/x
Actualy, there is no need to type in whole thing. Only one word, that should be readable is needed. You can type anything you want in place of second and it should let you through. Thats how ReCaptcha works and it can make it easier. Also its their mistake to make it unreadable if they want us to decipher it.
It's readable, just not to people unfamiliar with the languages.I've seen reports of Arabic, Cyrillic, and Tamil...
Uh, lol. If having to refresh a captcha bothers anyone, that anyone certainly gets bothered way too easily. So much effort has to be spent on them arabic capthas, ooohhh. Its not like i spend a billion^2 times more effort on typing my posts, and that i actually do not even notice that i have to type captcha after each one. The only time when i realise the captcha is when it says something funny.Just ignore the whining? Seriously. If anyone who has ever wrote a post over two paragraphs long finds it tedious to refresh the captcha once or twice, its a problem of a bad personality, not of a bad captcha.
You realize you only have to enter one of em to be post, right? As long as you enter the one normal english word (Non fuzzy, punctuation, numbers, etc) and random words/letters, you can post.
Oh good. I always hated seeing russian or whatever. Also didn't know they got the words from digiized books.
You realize you only have to enter one of em to be post, right? As long as you enter the one normal english word (Non fuzzy, punctuation, numbers, etc) and random words/letters, you can post. While true, it completely defeats one of the main purposes of using this particular system to begin with.
Type the illegible word as whatever you want (I'm partial to f***, but any word works) and then just type the real word correctly. It'll work. I just did it for this post.
Captcha: Helping Wowhead users to be multi-lingual since 2010.
you dont need to type in the whole captcha really just 1 word sicne the proggram only recognizes one wordor you can click on the audio thing and trype in same word 10 times
I'm slightly annoyed that people try to beat it, I think the system is awesome.
