People still use them...?
Considering that the last PowerPC macs were sold more than five years ago, and since the release of Snow Leopard more than a year ago they've been getting nothing but security fixes, no driver updates. I think five years is long enough to have supported PowerPC. Considering most Mac games that came out since the Intel transition started have been Intel only, not even Universal, I think Blizzard went above and beyond.
people use macs?
This man has four posts, I can only see three from his user panel... Blasted staff forums.
People still use them...?WoW moms most likely?at any rate, 6+ years is getting kind of old
I'd be surprised to see a Mac PPC that could even run WoW. I guess someone must have had a hard time trying to let go of their old computer.
I'm the guy who sent this into them.Yes my mac is quite old. It's a month or two from being 5 years old. That's ancient in computing terms.I'm currently looking now into getting a new computer ASAP and looking forward to new shinies :)
And to be fair 10.5.8 does get security updates. But that's about it :(
I wonder if my wife's Mac is an Intel processor...
I wonder if my wife's Mac is an Intel processor...Rofl!
I am playing WoW on a mac since the game came out.. never played it on windows even. First I played it on PowerPC architecture, now on Intel. The Mac version even has extra features ingame, like making movies of your gameplay.
Necrode: Same here :)Windows client cant record movies in game?Never knew....
Mac is not a gaming computer so I'm not surprised by this.
I'd be surprised to see a Mac PPC that could even run WoW. I guess someone must have had a hard time trying to let go of their old computer.I started playing WoW on an eMac during BC, and it handled adequately. Not great by any means, but enough to get by on.
Mac is not a gaming computer so I'm not surprised by this. That's not really why the change was made. The fact is even the newest PowerPC Mac computers are old enough that very few of them would have enough raw power to run Cataclysm. It doesn't make any sense to support a type of processor that can't run it in a realistic scenario.
I wonder if my wife's Mac is an Intel processor...Ohshi-.Also, pretty expected move, imo.
macs suck for gaming if you play WoW why would you have a mac in the first place
I have a PC.
Whats a mac? :O
macs suck for gaming if you play WoW why would you have a mac in the first placeCan't argue with that logic : ]
