Could be awesome, if they make it
I wonder if we will be able to kill opposite faction workers that gather ressource :)Also, I hope they will update Arathi Basin to have such workers to make it a bit more living.I always thought AB and WSG should have guard NPCs. In AB to prevent ninja taking (there would be some kind of alert to tell someone is trying to get it). In WSG just to add some lives to it.
"This new 10 vs 10 battleground will take place in the actual city of Gilneas"It looks to me as if it takes place outside the city proper with the lack of buildings, streets and the ginormus cathedral.
Fewyn, better get your facts straight. That Battleground does NOT take place in Gilneas City itself.
"What's so great about this map that it's actually in the city so there are all kinds of choke points and places you can strategically block the opposite faction from progressing."I don't know if direct quoting the very Wowhead page we're on is enough of getting the facts straight for LordGabriel, but it's the best I can do.
this is really origi... oh wait!
lol, yeah i'm going to have to go with LordGabriel. I remember when they first were talking about this BG, this map was usually used to illustrate it. However, we now know that the city map is used during the Worgen opening (before you "wolf-out" and get shackled). So, to reiterate:
A battleground with no siege vehicles?SIGN ME UP!
Oooo, I can't wait for this one :)
Thumbs down. It would have been so cool to have a battleground in a city. Arathi Basin 2.0 isn't quite so cool.
Blizzard deemed the original concept of the Battle of Gilneas (the battle inside the city) as "unsalvageable" after testing. So, they decided to make it how it is now.
Poor.Blizzard is running out of ideas. Stop re-hashing already done BGs.
I honestly think that the idea of city based guerrilla combat sounds like a fun idea, but I'd like it if they did it with multiple levels in buildings and possibly "bridges" of sorts that connect them together. Sort of like a fps design to the bg, though that would make LoS issues a major problem. Then again, that is what they seem to be going for with this bg.I am seeing some issues though. The thought of three bases seems like an interesting idea, but I don't see much beyond "Go after waterworks and ignore going after your enemies other base (mines or lighthouse)." Then again I may be mistaken. The other issue I'm seeing is that according to the map, the alliance seems to be closer to the waterworks than the horde do. They may have ledges to make it impossible to get to other than across bridges and things, though it's not looking to be the case so far.I am looking forward to give it a shot though.
Reminds me of Warhammer Online.
Like many people, I thought this was going to take place in Gilneas City itself. But I guess that's why it's no longer called the "Battle for Gilneas City", and just the "Battle for Gilneas".
Sorta don't like how 2 contested graveyards are closer to the alliance one, and only one is near horde's. Though there appears to be no siege vehicles, so that's a relief.
