i hope they turn the mounts into an attainable rep mount cause that will make me go for it =D
Removing ZG is a good idea, i mean what new player knows about ZG? nothin they will never play in it.Going by that logic...why wasn't it removed at the start of TBC and Wrath? I mean there was no need to do them then as even the greens from TBC quests were far superior to anything from there.
Yaknow....another question. What are they gonna do with the Zandalar Tribe rep?
in cata we can fly in azeroth...what's the point in ground mounts outside collectors and the maybe 2 open instances? Are there other places we wont be able to use flying mount in?
Yaknow....another question. What are they gonna do with the Zandalar Tribe rep?Interest? Here? Cool :).Yeah, probally gone, but maybe they are the faction which occupied ZG now, and they will give rewards. We'll see...
Why can't they just plop some portals down in the Caverns of Time for those of us who like to farm rare drops, etc. so that we can keep on doing what we like doing and they can still move the "current" game world forward with all the radical changes they can dream up. Everyone's happy.Never got to raid Naxx40 but wanted to? There'd be a CoT portal for that.Want to farm ZG mounts? There'd be a CoT portal for that.Want to live in the past in the pre-cataclysmic, ground-travel only version of Azeroth? They could make a portal for that too.Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about the changes that are coming with the new expansion. But I would be even MORE excited if its arrival did not mean there would be things I could no longer do. Especially things where the reward is based solely on RNG. Yeah, yeah, same old QQ from a farmer with uncooperative dice. I'll keep going until the expansion hits and crossing my fingers, but since I have yet to see either mount drop the likelihood of me getting even ONE before the expansion hits is not good, and getting both would be astronomical. It occurs to me that they might give us a recolor option (blue tiger and blue raptor to match the clockwork rocket bot and crashin' thrashin' racer re-colors, for example) perhaps via reputation but I'd rather they didn't.

It is there. You want the ZG mounts? Well, too bad. I want the Amani Bear. You want to live in a lamer place? I don't think so.
should've started farming earlier?
The reason I'd like to be able to go to Naxx40 is to learn the obsolete recipes from Master Craftsman Whatsisname from the Argent Dawn who is no longer inside. Because I collect tradeskill recipes. And yeah, I'd like the Armani Bear myself as well :) Would've stayed at level 70 to do it too, had that been an option. Because I collect mounts. As for the older Azeroth being accessible, I personally don't wish to do that but there are players out there who do. Entire guilds have been formed by people who only level to 60 and then raid Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, AQ20/40 - vanilla stuff. People should be able to play the way they want to. /shrugBut in regards to the Amani War Bear, you seem to agree at least a little with the point that I was trying to make (granted, I could have perhaps done a better job at making it) which was that when Blizzard removes content from the game it adds limitations to gameplay. Limitations that I think are unnecessary, that's all.Reading the comments though, there are plenty who disagree with me and of course, their opinions are no less valid. However, I can't help but wonder how many people who are indifferent about the raid being removed would still feel the same way had they not already gotten all the items and achievements that they wished out of ZG.Thanks for responding to my comment and best of luck to you in the coming Cataclysm.
That tiger mount looks cool, but honestly I couldn't care less about those mounts.Nothing is worth farming for years hoping to have that 0.01% chance to get it and especially not a mount.Looking at that thread the above message links to made me laugh about people whining...But I must say that the choice to remove ZG entirely as a raid instance is quite remarkable. It was the most played classic instance (and I hope not for those mounts) and I've done it a few times (TBH since I'm an achievement hunter, so I had to down Hakkar someday). The suggestion to move it into the Caverns of Time wing (so that the ZG can still be played without spoiling the rest of the game story-wise) seems like a very good idea to me (it was offered by somebody on the blizzard-forum). I can only hope that people won't waste away lots of years then hoping to get the mount if Blizzard takes over that suggestion. As for ZG as a quest area. Rumors told me there are some very interesting quests, so I'd love to see what they came up with.
Thats rough... I been running ZG on my DK since I hit 80 in hopes to get the Tiger mount and have yet to see it... and now they are removing it.... figures... hurray blizzard for making me feel like ive been wasting my time...

Tempted to farm the mounts, but should I really.....nahhh back to level my 2nd char instead :)
Wander what will happen with Thekol's Grasp and Arlokk's Grasp. Those were some fun toys to play with.
Half you guys are QQing about the mounts. The other half say there's nothing to QQ about.Maybe some of the reasons below offer insight into how a lot of the lvl 60 raids have become popular playgrounds for collectors. It is a GAME after all.
Turtle polySpecial petsAre available out of the raid in Cata.
I´ve been playing Wow since 2006 and i have many memories about Zul´Gurub! Vey sad it´s being removed and i hope the mounts will still be able to get.Thank you Valnoth for uploading this! Cya.
For anyone who still doesn't know, they found another place for the Razzashi Hatchling from ZG. There was a lot of hype about getting one for the psycho vanity pet people since it wasn't going to be available, and could be sold for major gold. I bought one myself for a premium hoping it could catch as much as 15k after it was gone. Nope.Blizzard is keeping it in the game as a drop from mobs in Northern STV. So they keep the stupid vanity pet that hardly anyone outside the super rich, hardcore collectors would want, but not the awesome mounts that even more people have farmed for years. Good game Blizz. A+Ask any hardcore ZG farmer, and I'd wager 9/10 were in there for the mounts, and not the stupid pet.
funny how the whole instance is removed so that the people questing there could do... 1 quest? yes, 1 damn quest that takes 5 min to do and its not important at all lorewise so it could have been replaced with anything else. also, the whole area is deserted now there are no mobs there at all so it seems now more than ever a waste of spaceto all those saying "its old", "its useless" and whatnot. sure its useless and outdated so what? some people like it why should it be removed? the same could also be said about MC, BWL, AQ20, AQ40 and BC raids..
