I like the stitching on Onyxia's neck. Consistency ftw!
Undead Onixya *-*
onyxia? again? will that B@#$h ever stay dead? lol
Camels? And they spit? Where the hell is Conan when you need him?
But this time, will she BREATH more? or... will she attempt to deep breath and it will explode out of her belly and kill the raid?
the "legendary" camelShecky the Comedy Camel?
O_O omg camels!...Why does Onyxia have a bird face.....?
Neither of those two things happened actually. Onyxia only died once at the hands of Varian Wrynn after he returned to Stormwind as the King. The most lame retcon ever. The camel mounts are awesome. Definitely going to be grinding rep (if need be) for one of those.
They're called Wallmasters. And yes; These do bear an uncanny resemblance...
Wow those camels look awesome. Really professional work. I like how they are holding their head up high :D

Or is it merely your personal opinion? Why retcons aren't so bad. A very good read and well written article.
Hahaha, I hope that was an intended Aladdin reference in the title.Either way, the camels look pretty sweet, almost Talbuk sweet. And the wall master thing is definitely going to be joining my collection.
Retcon? I don't remember any previously established lore stating that anyone else killed Onyxia first.
Eww looks like Nefarian's windpipe/oesophagus is hanging out. :S
Retcon? I don't remember any previously established lore stating that anyone else killed Onyxia first. Before Varian made the official lore kill in the comics, these quests had established who killed Onyxia (Victory for the Alliance / Horde). It was kind of inconsistent, seeing as she only had one head which could be hung from one city. The whole 'Varian retcon' thing cleared that up, and now we know where the head is in lore and who killed her.
We've also found the model for an eerie little crawling hand companion pet (think Thing from The Addams Family), which also looks like it may come out of Uldum (with all the creepy mummies and crazy Egyptian-themed business going on down there). If I remember correctly, one of the animations for this lil' guy features him swooping up into the air and gives you a thumbs up - very cool, but he's still a creepy, detached hand. This thing comes from a middle-eastern themed zone, in which giving the thumbs up gesture is offensive.
Nefarian looks like he fared better than his sister did. He's much less beat up.
Why retcons aren't so bad. A very good read and well written article.Interesting. I have to take a closer look at that one, as it matches pretty well with everyone I've written earlier with my theories on how the Cataclysm would converge with everything (I'm sure a lot of people remember that). And also obligatory: OMG CAMELS YAY!
Nooo! Wallmasters... I shat enough bricks about them when playing Zelda :<

Blizz wanted to show how bad ass Varian was, they wanted to make him a little more interesting and that was how they 'tried' to win people over. The link you provided was indeed a nice little read as well (slightly delving off into fangirlism at times) and I really liked the reference to Neil Gaimon. (his style of 'no small characters' definitely does not apply to the Varian retcon though but does put me in mind of Tirion). Being an avid fan of comics in my youth, I learned what a retcon was and what it was used for. Usually there are four big reasons for a retcon:1. We screwed the continuity up, big time; lets retcon it. (Crisis on Infinite Earths) 2. We have this character that we really love and we want others to love them too, retcon it. (Wolverine) 3. The character has gone too far from their roots, is in a direction we don't want it to be in; it's either drop the series or retcon it.(Batman) 4. We want to do this, we don't care that it doesn't fit in with lore, so retcon it.(Spiderman)It's fine and well that WoW is a lore intense game, you're going to run across lapses in continuity, it's inevitable; case in point, the Eredar. Blizz made a mistake with them and retconned it away and made no bones about admitting to it. Varian how ever, pertaining to Onyxia; was simply blizzard slapping together (via comics) some retconned lore about a character. Blizzard took a raid that was available at release of the game, and after all of 'vanilla' and TBC just stuck in, "oh Varian killed her". Frankly it's a boot to the teeth of any player that saw the content when it was relevant, and plain lazy writing on blizzards part.
