I am increasingly of the opinion that Lunar Justice is intended to address mana issues while leveling. It will have some minor boost to some PvP comps but I seriously doubt that the few melee that would benefit from this in a Raid would absolutely need it to be present and the Boomkins would lose considerable dps to move in range of this effect within that environment.
Push back has been shown to give an increase to DPS by fair amount. Before Imp. MotW got is 2% stats boost it was better to place those two points into Nauture's Focus for that exact reason. I would not be surprised to see it become a trully effective dps boost.As for Moonglow. We are losing some mana regen strength in many areas and while we will still gain the buff from Dreamstate and Euphoria's Eclipse based 12% total mana boost I suspect Moonglow will be a standard presence within our tree as a starting Cata raider. It is not strong no but untill we have more info I would err on the side of caution.It has 3 points in that location but you can easily drop that to 1 point as we see now.
Not happy with the Tree of Life or Boomkin either... Tree of Life should be a permaform like all other shapshifts. And why decrease the armor contribution from Moonkin Form? I like it for boosting friends in higher level dungeons(ramparts for example). And why would Starfall require Typhoon? I mean Typhoon is less effective in raids
Not happy at all with the whole tree of life thing 45sec and 5 min CD? and reduces movement speed by 50%? and increases damage you dont use any attackes in Tree of Life? Thats the only reason i have a druid is because i like my Tree of Life! The new spells and healz are really good like whild growth. But still doing alot of :( things to my druid and i dont like that much. Balance spec looks very nice though and i do like dps'ing on my druid!
I have spent ages looking at forums and the talent calculators. I play Moonkin and Bear and so have done sample specs for those.Bear - http://cata.wowhead.com/talent#0Zi0IfRcbtcfubGz0to0E0t- This spec leaves 1 point to spend- Fury Swipes is not only good for aggro but also rage management (which warriors and bears will have to do in Cata).- Improved Feral Charge will be amazing for aggro especially if you do it on a pull with King of the Jungle up and then Berserk.- Pulverize will be great for aggro and so I think Endless Carnage is more or less non-negotiable.- I think the last point will go into Primal Madness although it could go into about five different talents. Again, we are not going to generate as much rage as we have before so rage generating/saving talents are valuable.- I love Perseverance. This should stack with Protector of the Pack which will mitigate magic damage nicely. Obviously we have Barkskin to help as well.- I think we are really well placed in terms of survivability and TPS and think bears will look good in Cataclysm.- The other talents in this spec I think are no-brainers.Moonkin - http://cata.wowhead.com/talent#0EMfod0qIdhIkcdbZbxczb- I think this will be the cookie cutter spec and it leaves 3 points to spend. Well, when I cookie cutter you could avoid Owlkin Frenzy or Gale Winds or Fungal Growth but I think everyone will take these.- I hope the Eclipse mechanic and Mastery benefits are good becuase we losing a number of abilities and dps-boosting talents.- We have lost (a lot of) armour which is going to make pvp hell again and affect raid survivability.- We have lost the spirit -> spell power conversion from Moonkin Form.- We have lost the Int -> spell power conversion from Lunar Guidance.- We have lost crit (Starfire) and damage (to wrath) as Improved Insect Swarm is gone.- We have lost 3% crit from IFF.- We have lost part of the spell damage debuff from Earth and Moon which is now 5% lower.- However, Starfall on single target is being buffed (which is a straight up buff because the splash damage is only really useful on trash and some fights with multiple adds).- And the Eclipse mechanic change and mastery may be a very nice dps boost, so let's not get too pessimistic.- We also get a some fun new abilities like Starsurge and Solar Beam and Wild Mushrooms and Fungal Growth that comes with them.- We also will not be penalised as much when we move, with the eclipse bar and they obviously want us to Moonfire spam more.- Most other talents are more or less cookie cutter. You could play around with the points in Owlkin Frenzy or Gale Winds or Fungal Growth but I think most people will pick those up.- I think the remaining 3 points will go into Lunar Justice or Moonglow for mana regen or maybe into Celestial Focus or Nature's Focus to avoid pushback, or maybe even Brambles for fun.
