Sounds good, stops those people hunting for gear to drop group when it drops or it doesn't. And probably stops those wish to get certain gears without complaint! Finally maybe the ninja's have less of a motive to need too many times...
Don't even like the vote to kick option to begin with.. it just boasts elitists attitude even more.. "oh, i don't like that you're not pulling 7k dps on trash in a heroic" ~vote kick~The idea behind "vote kick" is a sound theory.. provided the people using the tool know how to use it, and use it properly for what it the intended use is supposed to be.Unfortunately, this is World of Elitistcraft, where if you're not pulling 7k dps on trash in a heroic, have 6k+ gearscore, or mouth off to anyone in party, they'll vote kick you out just because they don't like you. You could be one of the best players in the party, and they'd still vote kick you, just to kick you.The option to vote kick under those circumstances is a poor idea.. the changes following the 3.3.5 patch are decent, however, the cooldown on those that love to vote kick people should be increased.. by at least twice as much as what it is now.
Another great change. With so much diversity in the player base, it's necessary to play with a certain amount of patience. I do my best to educate the obviously uneducated when I encounter them in my group. It makes us all better team players.There are times, however, when it's better to boot someone than rack up plate-wearing repair bills without penalty.
I'm going to reserve judgement until this system is in action. In theory it will prevent elitists from kicking people, but honestly I've never been kicked it's usually the other way around where I leave due to verbal abuse or just bad mouthed players in the party that turn my stomach.Anymore too I have zero patience for high GS arrogance. I don't call it "nerd raging" or "rage quitting", whatever everyone is calling it. If I zone in on my 4.2k GS tank that is doing everything to hold threat, etc, and some 6k GS+ DPS is purposefully pulling off me, I just leave, it's not worth the frustration for me. Unfortunately, my options become more limited with this system.I also run into a gambit of groups where as the tank I'm the only lower GS person and everyone else in the party rags on you. In cases like this you usually find the healer or DPS pulling ahead of you and I kindly remind them that I'm pulling a) fast, and b) as many as I can reasonably hold threat on for the party and won't continue to make up for them if they continue. This usually leads to a series mean spirited statements from everyone else in the party, and so I leave. No need to put up with elitism, but now I'm penalized for the bad attitudes of others.I don't call it a lack of patience on my part, but rather a lack of patience on their part. If they want to pull the whole dungeon in a single pull then maybe they should group up with a tank ahead of time that can do that and not rely on a random tank that is gearing up to fulfill their desires.
Now if only they'd add an internal "blackball" that automatically prevents a person from re-entering a group they've been vote kicked from...more than once I've had some tool and his buddy go randoming and one of them will be acting ridiculous in the dungeon. They'll get vote kicked and then the buddy (who's also the party leader) will immediately reinvite them. The tard is now protected both personally (can't be votekicked more than every x minutes) and the group can no longer votekick anyone (assuming someone else is being an idiot, such as the leader in my example).It would hurt the people who get accidentally kicked, sure, but I'm going to bet those are fewer and further between.nilchitso: without sounding abrasive...stop wearing your feelings on your sleeve. You're going to hurt yourself in the long run if you abandon groups like that thanks to the internal stats. Put them all on ignore if you have to, or suggest that you run tankless (any plate dps in icecrown gear can tank heroics, honestly...throw on your "tank stance" and you're good to go) if the whole group is geared out and feels impatient. Running the dungeon anyway might even teach them a lesson about the fact that everyone was at that gear level at one time in their 'career', and it's not like they're going to have to put up with you for more than the next thirty minutes anyway.
I know I already commented but I personally have never kicked somebody for having poor gear or low dps and I kick somebody almost every dungeon I run for perfectly legitimate reasons. If the kick system isn't meant to kick ninjas and people who afk or spam profanities in chat instead of play, I'm honestly not sure what it's for. I'm really not liking the inability to kick many people if the situation comes up.
My battlegroup, Ruin, in particular is very very bad for arrogant and just plain BAD players. Im glad they are making this change as i am slowly starting to lose interest in the dungoens due to the fact of these particular players.
I can see this as a nice deterrent against vote-kicks being used frequently. Somehow, my luck and/or battlegroup is such that Ive only seen people vote-kicked because they suddenly go AFK or are DC'd.However, I don't see how this will add much disincentive to bailing out of a PuG than the half-hour lockout.
finely. have been in way to many dungeans where we did't finish, becouse of we couldt kick a bad tank or healer
i dont think "kicking players" and "abandoning groups" should be placed in the same container as they are the exact opisate.as a tank i kick people who arnt pulling there weight , and i feel that if people suck you should be able to kick them. (and i dont mean people with low gear score i mean people who arnt with you at all the pulls putting in the same effort you are)IMO the kick feature should be like a 3min cooldown on entering the instance and let you use it as much as you want, after all your group has to agree to kick people.you could put a 10-20 sec delay between trying to kick people so that anying people cant spam it.also i think it should say who was trying to kick who so evryone can make and an informed decision.
sounds like a good idea to me.hate those dam hunters who think they can do the instance by themselves and pull everything. But i have a rule for it.1st: i run up to them and heal them through the fight and ask them not to do it again.2nd: im already expecting its going to happen so this time i dont heal and either the die and leave group or the other dps pull them through.3rd: If they make it this far and havent got the idea yet i vote to kick.I think its a fair system i have going no need for blizzard to change anything.
