All those times I killed tigers there...Terrible explanation on Blizzard's part though.
*goblin voice*hmm... interesting!
All those times I killed tigers there...Terrible explanation on Blizzard's part though.Yeaaaa... I'd have to agree.
Interesting indeed. Well, I like the explaination. It doesnt explain the reason of Troll Druid (since they always existed, just check ZG and ZA), but explain why we didnt see them fight on our side until yet. Just like NE druids goes into a deep sleep, I dont see why troll druids could not have been low profile for sometimes. That thing make sense.
Thought they said it was due to the Shatterspear tribe?
I like it, it at least explains why there are tigers there and pretty much none for hundreds of square miles.
All those times I killed tigers there...Terrible explanation on Blizzard's part though. That doesn't imply the tigers are disguise druids. She is the matriarch that was hidden all this time. As the other Druids are, probably in other points of the world.
Thought they said it was due to the Shatterspear tribe? That was just speculation from a screenshot in the press kit from BlizzCon 09.
I always thought it had something to do with Loa spirits and what have you, like what is found in Zul'Gurub (tiger boss) and Zul'Aman. Guess I was wrong.
What is this, I don't even...

geez i see alot of bad comments about this, i think its freaking awesome, and if that screenshot really is the troll druid cat it looks alot more kick but then the lil NEs
Interesting stuff. I'd been wondering which angle Blizzard would lean towards with this.
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/9412/trollcatv.jpgTroll druid cat form screenshotPlease let this be a sick joke from blizz......My thought is that it's a fan-made image. It never turned up on any of the major blogs like other Blizz-released material, which is a major hint that it is likely not legitimate... and while this may just be an illusion I'm perceiving because of the textures, the model of the body (especially the face and legs/hips) looks extremely high-poly compared to other models we've seen. The curves are smooth to the point where individual polygons are imperceptible. This doesn't mean anything definite (graphics are absolutely going to be improving with the expansion), but my gut feeling is that it's either fan-made or an early concept... not a game-optimized, finished model. As far as the actual "Lore" of the post... I'm not sure it really counts as background Lore for Troll Druids. Sure it announces their acquisition into the Darkspear (or at least, the Horde)... but the actual beginnings of Druidism in Troll cultures comes from somewhere else, as others have pointed out. I sincerely hope that new Troll Druids will have some sort of race/class specific quests that explain that lore, because it's an interesting (and if it does indeed link into Loas and the the Zul'Gurub/Zul'Aman/Zul'Drak animal gods) massive opportunity for some in-depth, exciting storytelling quest chains.
So they were hiding for all this time? How original.
There are druids in the Amani tribe, so it's not unrelistic for a troll to be a druid.
