With all the new updates on what is coming up next with the inclusion of the next expansion I keep finding myself asking, "Why didn't they do this back in Vanilla/TBC/Wrath?"Granted back in the day when WoW first came out, they were different times and people didn't mind (as much) that things were being difficult or were implemented badly. This, however, is one of those things you think someone would've thought of ages ago, but whatever. It's coming soon and it'll be epic.
this looks promising :D
To explain the reasoning for the weekly cap on points for the higher tiers, this is for players with no self control :P But, hey, if it keeps raiders out of of 5-mans, great! Those people seem to make every effort to prevent other people from gearing up by skipping every boss possible.
That looks really good. A promising way of shaping the PvE really.I hope the cap isn't too low though.
again this is stupid why blizzard feels the need to break broken mechanics is beyond me why if i worked my ass off for say frost badges and im just about to spend them and the new teir comes out they are then converted to triumph thats stupid and another reason i am starting to shy away from this expansion the raid changes were the first now to find out that we have a cap on badges so that makes the fact that we get more from doing 25 man pointless as we will have to spend them immidetly so they dont get changed on us its stupid and blizzard is making me regret coming back to this game i was already disappointing with the arthas fight i expected a much more intricate fight but got an "yeah that was kinda cool" i never hear the exploding vent when after weeks and weeks of progression and attempts on this boss we finnaly down it and vent explodes with cheers, now its "oh we killed him....yaay..." maybe im just venting but with the new changes its going to be "we killed him whats the loot and can we just go do the others now but i need to spend these pointless points so i can get more" no love goes into this game anymore.
You can use emblems obtained thru PVE to purchase PVP gear so there is nothing new in that direction. However going the other way always involved a penalty, sometimes a pvp piece might be an upgrade to your pve set but it was never a good fit.
I might have missed it in the reading, not sure cause it's 4 am here and I'm kinda tired, but will these changes be efecting the current emblem system? Or will we still have emblems of conquest and frost after the expantion? In other words, does this change in the PvE emblem system only effect post cata content or everything?
lol this is so weird but i cant wait till cat comes out its gona be AWESOME hopefully
Hm, this looks promising... But only as long as Blizzard doesn't make the same mistake as in Cataclysm! They should not implement any points higher then this (in both PvP and PvE), and they should not change the initial rewards. Let people work for their gear again.I dearly hope Blizzard sees that... But for now, it looks alright.
The weekly caps are a good incentive to prevent people from playing themselves to death...again. Perhaps people will stop trying to choke down all the content in one month, only to moan on the forums how boring it is.If you spend 24/7 raiding, you don't deserve better gear. You deserve a visit to the job agency/school counselor/marriage counselor because you're obviously neglecting SOMETHING. Also, a shower and a pair of new socks. The ones you have now are filled with poop.If you really enjoy the game you'll find ways to entertain yourself even after getting the weekly cap(s). If you don't, you need to seek help because you're appearantly forcing yourself to do something you hate...willingly. Then again, we all know you won't. You'll just go to the forums to complain about it. You sad little man.
Honestly im a bit disappointed in this change. Removing requirements to pvp weapons and gear just means more idiots / noobs playing with lethal gear. Now good players can now just get swarmed down by a bunch of noobs. This currently was solved by having the latest season of gear to be sold with requirement and have 2 seasons down to be sold by honor points (example - wraith with requirements and arena points to furious with only honor points). This resulted in good player being able to compensate when being swarmed by a bunch of noobs with their better gear. I for one just think blizzard has dumb down the aspect of pvp to where the idiots can get the equal gear to a good player or decent player. In BC only good people were able to get the latest gear. Just look at what they did for WoTLK i have seen rogues in the upper 2k brackets that know no more than a static combo that end up easily kited and farmed resulting in rogues running to the forums to QQ i have seen noob restro druids who spam healing touch without any dots . Honestly just from reading this it seems that blizzard now more like gear > skill.
It's very interesting.Well... i love this changes =D
Wow, love this upcoming change. It seems Blizzard is finally coming around to reducing the horrid grind that was leading to burnout among players.Setting weekly caps on things = more time for players to do things they may enjoy ( in game or in real life ).go go blizz
Here is how I see this working, for all that are wondering. I'm making the numbers and names up, but the general point is what I'm trying to make:Patch 4.0 hits, and with it comes Tier 11 gear. You also have Arena Season 9 occuring at roughly the same time. Running daily random heroics or Tier 11 heroic modes will net Valor Points, and other heroics on non-heroic raids will net Hero Points. You can use Hero points on ilvl 300 PvE gear, and Valor points on ilvl 313 PvE gear. Similarly, doing arenas and rated battlegrounds gives Conquest Points, while doing normal battlegrounds and Tol Barad will give Honor Points. Honor Points can be spent for ilvl 300 PvP gear, and Conquest Points for ilvl 313 PvP gear.Patch 4.1 hits, and with it come Tier 12 gear. You also have Arena Season 10 occuring at roughly the same time. Now, daily random heroics or any Tier 12 fights will net Valor Points, and other heroics or Tier 11 fights will net Hero points. Hero Points will buy ilvl 300-313 PvE gear, and Valor Points will buy ilvl 326 PvE gear. Arenas and rated battlegrounds will still give Conquest Points, and normal battlegrounds or Tol Barad will give Honor Points. Honor will be spent on ilvl 300-313 PvP gear, and Conquest Points for ilvl 326 PvP gear. The cycle would continue. So when a new patch hits, you would be able to buy previous gear with it. While it downranks from Valor to Hero on a patch, the cost of that gear would downrank as well. So when Patch 3.3 hit, it would be more like all of our conquest badges would be converted into triumph badges (because the triumph gear, which in 3.2 would have been Valor gear, would be Hero gear in 3.3).
"I hate people who complain brag"-some random comedian I saw on tv:P
They've killed leveling, they've killed dungeons, but this made up for that and a little more!
