Usually I buy the CE of Blizz games just so I can get the soundtrack. Now there's even more reason to do so. W00t!
As for the price, $60 for the original game is a bit much considering that it's technically only 1/3rd of the game that you're getting, but hopefully it'll have more than enough content to justify the price point.Wings of Liberty is expected to have 28 missions and 45 minutes of in-engine on-the-fly cinematics. From here.Even though Wings of Liberty is just 1/3 of the game, it's about as long as the original game or longer. I can't remember the number of missions in the original right now . . .Queggy its around 45ish missions for all three campaigns on the original and another 20-30 on the expansion. give or take 10.
I personally find them selling each campaign seperately to be a shameless marketing scheme....Specially when each will be looking at costing 60dollars....That's just an outrageous price just to experience the entire game from all 3 standpoints. Even if the Protoss and Zerg campaigns "only" cost 30dollars a piece, that's still 120bucks just to have an entire game, when they gave us all three standpoints, through 2 games, for less than 60bucks depending on when you bought it....That kind of gimmick just to make a buck is distasteful and an insult to those of us that have loved the SC franchise ever since it's release in '08. TL:DR; Not buying this unless they drop with the bs and give us a full game for the 60/100dollar price(reg and CE). I have no problem waiting a day for the torrents to show up -.-
Only, ya know, they said all three campaigns will be the same length. For clarity, campaign/mission count wise, they're offering SC2, SC3, and SC4.
Every time I look at the Thor unit or even the Goliath unit from the original Starcraft, I see the villian in Robocop. That didn't stop me from doing goliath drops at 3 dozen at a time on bases though. ;-)
Think of it this way: if you play WoW, you can get your new Thor pet to blast zergling pets to bits (maybe. We can only hope). If you don't play WoW, you can eBay off the pet code and recoup some of the CE cost.
As long people aren't unreasonable about the price of the pet I'd be more then willing to help someone recoup the price of a CE as even with the sheer amount of stuff in it I don't have enough reason to pay that kind of money seeing as how I don't want anything but the pet and maybe the dog tag drives as the game itself doesn't really interest me.
Chances are the pet will be bound to your battle.net account and by registering the CE of Starcraft 2:WoL, it will be automatically added to WoW accounts on that battle.net account.Similar to how you get a Core Hound for having an authenticator attached to your battle.net.
Blizzard clearly likes the Thor, if they're making that the pet. That being said, they need to buff the ingame unit, lol. Right now it's not good enough to warrant 300 minerals and 200 gas...shortening the build time may have helped slightly, but it needs to be either less expensive or have more health.
So like, i just pre-ordered :D
