In the event of a tie, the last team to cap wins. Many on my battlegroup seem to be confused about this.If you're running a flag, don't outrun your healers.Resto druids:Root enemy FCs and pursuers. Dispelling crippling poison/curse of exhaustion is a very high priority.Hybernate works on catform and bearform druids. Particularly handy for would-be enemy FCs in your FR, or to get them off your back while you're healing your FC.When running a flag: Keep your HoTs ticking, even if it doesn't seem like you're being followed. Know where your swiftmend and NS buttons are. Don't forget about bash.
When defending your flag carrier, crowd control on the attackers and healing on your flag carrier is far more important than any damage you can do to the attackers. Use your instant cast cool downs such as intimidating shout and death coil (warlock version), because the burst in PvP, especially on your flag carrier when the attackers are frantic, can be frightening.-Rockinitup of The Underbogedit: on the "blizz is making us pay for free advice" subject: I believe that part of the point of not just directing people here is so that they can sift through the advice that's been posted and take the good and leave the bad.
Hurono-Exodar. As a flag carrier, grab flag and stay away from the red lettered people. Run like crap.Do not bubble, use nitro boosts, vanish, mount, ice block, invisibility, hand of protection, and any other of the plethora of things that will force you to drop the flag.Healers are your friends. Be a good friend and mooch off of their heals.Stay out of mid. It's bad when you have a large glowing blue/red trail behind you, k?The faster your teammates call incs, the faster your team can react. So call incs.Snare/CC whenever things look like they'll get bad, and keep defensive CD's ready. They can't hit what they can't see. HIDE!... But make sure your healers and team know where you hide, cuz they can't heal what they can't see.Just my 2 cents. =P
Get the flag, drop it where no one can take, enter into a friend's scooter, click flag. Now you can be mounted with the flag.elair-illidan
If we don't have the enemy flag, it's in the enemy base. Not in the mid-field. Not by our graveyard. Not by their graveyard. Not in the lovely little huts in the middle of the map. It's IN THEIR BASE WHY ARE YOU NOT GOING TO THEIR BASE ALREADY TO GET THE FLAG?If we do have the enemy flag, and they have our flag, we cannot cap until we retrieve our flag. They are likely hiding it in their base. You know, their base. It's the large building on the other side of the map with the opposite color scheme. They are not waiting in the mid-field. They are not hanging around the graveyard. They are IN THEIR BASE WHY IT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND THEY ARE IN THEIR BASE PLEASE JUST GO TO THEIR BASE AND GET OUR FLAG THIS IS NOT A COMPLICATED IDEA I MEAN THE GAME TYPE IS CALLED CAPTURE THE FLAG!
Some mage tipsYou are a flag runners 2nd best friend (first being healers of course), use frost nova, pet nova, dragon's breath, cone of cold, anything to keep the enemy away from your flag carrier. When your mates have thinned enough out, switch to damage.Rank 1 frostbolt, although it is mana intensive, it provides a nice fast cast slow when you need one.Keep up Ice Barrier, you never know when that rogue or feral druid will show up to catch you off guard. If casters are giving you more trouble than melee in a BG, change to Mage Armor, Ice Armor for melee and Molten Armor if you have no resilience since both of those armors won't really help so you might as well have more crit.Watch for tile changes on the floor, they can ruin your blink.Keep bothering Ghost Crawler for a moose.Xalgar, Eonar
Screw the flag, get that frag.
For Rogues with Preparation:Get the flag and try to hit the sprint buff in the tunnel, once you get out of the door, beware of enemies. Run normally until pursued. Once you get stuck, cloak of shadows (trinket if need be) and hit your skill sprint. Anyone coming in your way, blind/gouge them. Warriors/DK's would be the ones to blind. Use evasion to avoid hamstrings /rogues on you. Press Prep and have your sprint and evasion ready to go again. Use this in continuance to avoid mounted players. Glyph of sprint (100% run speed) will allow you to keep up to the same speed of mounted players. Use your sprints to make it to your tunnel for the last sprint buff. This tactic is very great for the last flag caps as it is very fast, and if executed correctly, the opposing faction will not see it coming so fast.Sapping their runner will keep them furious while you wait for your buds to come over and start on the flag carrier. For warriors:I use my charges as much as I can. I would charge an enemy, intervene to a partner, intercept to another person in order (hamstringing as much as I could. If you get overwhelmed, Intimidating shout + enraged regenertion and shield wall will help you survive huge amounts of damage.) Try to get a set healer on you.I hope this helps.WSG's vary with each group you get. So keep in mind who is going to run and who is not.Usually shamans/druids can do the job best with their shapeshifted running speeds and druids abilities to get out of snares.Kavik Level 80 Human Rogue <Slane Baanrit> - Silver Hand
If you have to pick up the flag with little support (when it's likely the other team are going to reach you before your compadres) then it is often best to stay within the horde base for a little while. Getting to the top tier is especially useful while waiting and tell your team to gather near the opposing teams gy so you can meet up with them.I'd say always waste the speed power up in your own base and waste the other teams unless your fc is likely to get it, as the one in your base is near useless to you.Free Action Potions are great, they now grant you 30 seconds of immunity from snares, roots and stuns.Tickles, Hellfire
here is what u do...get an awsome mm hunter or 2 regular 1's....lay your traps when they enter fr,a soon as they trip the traps hit rediness and lay your second wave of traps...y this time your flag should be heading back....opposing team will almost always go tunnel....so grab speed boost before opposition....by the time your team returns with flag u should be able to intercept flag in your own tunnel...easy first flag capped.....if ppl listen it works almost every time
Raves - Silver HandIf your carrying the flag, and know that the other team may be waiting at the end of the tunnel, never get the 100% speed boost, as you will outrun your healer(s) and dps. Its pretty much a certain death.
Don't die. All yah need to know.Layssar - Moon Gaurd
As a tanking class spec and gear yourself for maxim survival. Remember though none of you avoidance stats apply if an attack comes from behind. So take talents that passively mitigate melee/magic damage and increase your health armor. Trinkets and enchantments that free your movement, increase movement speed and reduce movement imparing effects durration are also a good idea. For all classes the best advice I can give is work together and use your assist key ( default is "F") to concentrate your attacks on the same target
I would say:Keep in at least an group of 5. Get some healers and an shammy or an rogue (Or an engineer with rocket boots) to carrie the flag. And the others should keep up. Stun/morph/flee as most members as possible. Cause they taking the flag is what counts. Some DPS to hold the enemy in action dosnt hurt either...But great that WSG are maby getting some action again =)Im sorry to say this, but learn to grammar. "and an shammy or an rogue?" You cant use rocket boots with the flag or it drops. and you cant pick up the flag while you have the buff.
you organize the 10 ppl in ur wsg grp in 2 groups, 1 group defends your flag, while the other team tries to get it. ive done this and managed to win 3-0 as me leading
Here are the basic rules / tips.- The first and most basic rule of Warsong Gulch of what not to do: Under ANY circumstances, will you fight in mid-field. (Unless you are attacking the Enemy flag carrier).- Have a minimum defensive group of at least 3, Because having all your teammates on offense will do you no good.- Pick a Buddy (I know this sounds childish, but everyone knows when your in groups, you tend to win more often).- Know your enemy, checking the opposing team's forces give you a bit of a knowledge of what your up against.- Offensive groups should be made up of at least a minimum of 5 people, and should always make an attempt to run STRAIGHT to the Enemy's flag room from spawn, unless the Enemy team has the flag, 3 should veer off and make an attempt to stop that flag carrier!- ALWAYS attack the healers first, believe me if they have a healer or two it's not going to get any easier, giving the opposing team the chance to counter your attacks.- Make sure, to call an incoming attack, with the information of direction or location of the attackers.- Stun, Slow, Stunlock, or any immobilization is quite effective against your Enemy flag carrier and their allys.- Do not be scared to use your cooldowns (Its a battleground everyone needs to beat the enemy).- Rogues and Druids may stealth to the Enemy flag carrier, to act as a legerdemain for your team, giving you vital info on the enemy's defense.- Please, DO NOT, Argue or bicker, that will only make things worse.- Recommended flag carriers may vary on their class, talent trees, or skill, for example, A druid may be the single, best class for Flag carrying, compared to a mage or rogue.- If you are being Graveyard camped, please do not be a ding-dong and run straight into the fray, that will only give your Enemy the honor points they want.- Never AFK out.- (I am not single targeting a class here) Make sure to stop hunters in their tracks, they can unload on your carrier with a barrage of shots to make your carrying a living hell.- Achievements should only be attempted IF you are residing in a Premade battlegroup (Unless the opposition is fairly weak in both numbers and strength).- Do not turtle after only one Flag capture, due to the recent changes of this battleground, it is vital to make the last flag capture.- If an enemy is in honorable combat with one of your teammates, do not stop to lend a hand, simply press on with your assault on the enemy's fortress, or if a (For example) Death Knight is Death Gripping your comrades off to the side, keep pressing on into the enemy fortress.- Speak to your group Pre-Game. This not only works strategically, but lets you get to know your group to reduce the amount of Arguing / Bickering, during gameplay.- Trying to be number one in killing blows does not tell anyone your skilled, it only shows that you are fighting in the middle of the the Battleground a bit more often than you should be.- Fight ON the flag.I Really hope this helps you succeed in your future endeavors.Regards to you WoWHead.com,Mistrunner / Sparklê / Gatoradë on the Earthen Ring Realm.Good Luck!
Syladind GreymaneHonestly, a great tactic my friends and I use constantly is to hide 3 or so people in the little room off to the left of the start area, the one with the one-way window. These will be your defense, and it's best to have a burster or two, someone who can CC (Slow, Stun, Pallies can stop an movement speed increases), a healer, and a Hunter for traps. Hide in there, and whenever someone picks up the flag, slow/stop/trap him and kill him as fast as possible. Then, run back into the room until someone else takes the flag or someone starts attacking you. This can effectively scare a lot of people if they see this, and whenever us 3 are on defense, they simply can't take the flag unless our stun is on cooldown, and even then we normally persue them until they die or we die. As for attacking tactics, it's best to stay with a dedicated group for what you are attempting to do (Take the flag, kill their flag carrier, or hold middle ground for dominance.) and go straight for that. Alert your team if you see anyone incoming, say what to attack, etc. Communication is how you win anything, you never see a top end raiding guild or a 2500+ arena team not using ANY form of communication. On another note, use everything you can. Cooldowns are there to kill your opponent, not to use at the last moment and waste. As a boomkin, I pop treants and starfall whenever I start attacking someone. However, don't use them randomly like an idiot. Save them for big moments (Saving your FC, killing their FC, pushing mid back, etc). Finally, just have fun. Odds are if you aren't having fun, you probably aren't doing your best. Don't get mad when you die, think of how you could have beaten them (if you could have) and better your playstyle through the analyzation of your mistakes. Having fun is what this game is about. Spend a few gold and respec your offspec to a fun PvP spec, such as Body and Soul holy Priest, Typhoon Boomkin, Subtelty Rogue, etc. It's always satisfying to push back the entire group of opponents away from your flag carry when he's about to die, or give him that extra speed boost he need, or pop double sprint through preparation to get that flag back ASAP.
Jonnysniper-DarkspearDon't be a midfield camper.
Diegest - Demon Soul1. Never run right down the middle of the field, especially if you have the flag. Way to many people do this.2. Many people will take the flag to the roof of their factions building. Search there quickly if you need to find their carrier.3. When you get the flag and can't hand it in yet take it to your graveyard, from here you get the most support when you are attacked.4. Never outrun your teammates when you have the flag. You get too far away for them to help you.5. Always call out in the chat where you and the enemy are taking the flag, a quick "Coming down right side to our GY" helps your team know where to meet up with you.6. Try not to get distracted by the other faction, if your running down to grab their flag don't stop to kill everyone you pass.
In my PvP guild, we have a very simple yet effective stratagy. We get 1 tank 4 heals and 5 dps which equals 10 total. when the game starts we seperate two healz on the 5 dps, and 2 healz on the tank. the 5 dps and their two healers run into the middle Distract and kill all healers then their damager's this buys plenty of time for your tank. Mean while the tank is running up the ramp with the two healers to get the flag. when all horde ( yes we are alliance) are dead, we the middle fighters run to the bottom of the ramp and support the FC tank, we then run back... kill their FC which in this case is VERY VERY simple because all horde are just rezzing while we are already at our base also this is of course if anyhorde get by us. We then cap the flag and repeat, every game is a 3-0 win within 8 minutes. so far we are 45-0 with this strat with man acheivments to compliment.Qeroca of Darnassus--Burning Legion Relm
