I think they should have stick with their first idea of -30% healing/damage. Would have been better imo.
I hate that you need two different sets of gear depending on what you are doing. I don't see why you can kill the final bosses in the game in reasonably small groups...Godly characters... and then get your butt handed to you by a freshly dinged 80 in Wintergrasp because he used his honor on ilvl 200 glad gear while you used it on gems for your ilvl 245 and up gear.

Instead of coming up with a nerf to healing, how about just use the counters that Blizzard made to deal with healers?Interrupts, stuns, dispels, mortal strike effects, crowd control.A healing debuff would be too much since must arena teams have a mortal strike effect in their build anyways, so another healing debuff would just lead to frustration on the healers. They spec into healing to heal... why take that away when there are plenty of counters against healing.
This change is great because I wasn't punching my screen enough with double plate teams.
Much as I dislike the idea of a global buff to Resilience gear, I also have to remind myself that PVP gear isn't as hard to get anymore if you do VoA and farm lots of Emblems. The days of farming BGs to get S1 gear are thankfully over. And the fact that I like a buff to Resilience better than I do a global damage/healing nerf.Otherwise it could be like playing a mage in RagnarokOnline's guild-level PVP. "Ok, so all damage in PVP is reduced by half, and magic is reduced by a further 40%.... of what was left after the first reduction. So all I exist to do is slow them down so our hunters and knights can kill them?"
The change will double the value of resilience in reducing damage done by players. So depending on their current amount of resilience, characters might experience a 10 to 20% decrease in damage taken from other players. The critical strike chance and critical strike damage reduction components of resilience will remain unaffected by this change.doesn't this mean crits will still hit just as hard as they do now?
I think a few people are getting confused about the part where critical strike remains unchanged. This change basically means that non-crit hits will hit a little less hard now...but that crits will still be the same as they are now. Example below:Old Resilience:10% damage reduction - Ferocious Bite hits you for 9k (instead of 10k)20% crit damage reduction - Ferocious Bite crits you for 12k (instead of 15k)New Resilience:20% damage reduciton - Ferocious Bite hits you for 8k (instead of 10k)20% crit damage reduction - Ferocious Bite still crits you for 12k (instead of 15k)Before I get flamed from all the feral druids out there..I don't even know what ferocious bite hits and crits for these particular numbers were used to simplify things.
Because farming honor in BG's with 0-300 resil was fun.
It's funny cause it's obvious nobody here has ever played a team like Rogue/Mage beyond 1500. There is no overkill. This season was hell. You either barely get a kill against a goddamn DK team or you lose and try again. This isn't a burst nerf, it's a double-DPS team killer. If I didn't have such a problem getting even to the rating of Death Knights who are terrible players but get carried by healing, I wouldn't see a single problem with this change, but Rogue/Mage just won't make it any more, and the first idea of balancing was absolutely dreadful for the same reason.
hmm at least it makes pvp geard players stronger vs. pve geard folks u think there awesome pvper just becuz they hit for 20k burst -.-
