Rantage mode enabled.That's right, I'm not amused by Shadowmourne.The drop rates of those shards you need. Seriously? Why are you making this so easy for DPS to obtain, while DPS is already the easiest task in the entire game? Honestly, if Val'anyr was that easy to get, I would've already gotten it in the Ulduar patch.In fact, this may be late, but I'm really sad to see yet another DPS Legendary, and I sincerely hope that this will be the very last DPS Legendary weapon to ever appear in World of Warcraft. Stop spoiling the DPS, and give more to Tanks and Healers, who pretty much do all the work nowadays.
well, valanyr was just collecting 40 shards, for shadowmourne you first need 25 primordial saroniteso you need a guild willing to sacrifice getting crafts and stuff and sacrifice badgegear yourself to get enough, then you need to kill all 3 hardest (excluding LK himself) bosses and after that LK himself...i don't think we'll see much scrubs with this, maybe in cata, but that'll be the same as ppl getting glaives or thoridal now
I also think it's rather stupid that DPS get another legendary, which is something we obviously don't need. It sure makes sense lore wise to have a weapon to strike Arthas with but it honestly doesn't help that even more DKs/Paladins/Warriors are tempted to go DPS to get the legendaries.There should totally be a legendary shield/staff or something to encourage people to tank/heal instead of just DPS. Same with Quel'Dalar, no tanking version? what?

I agree, another legendary dps weapon is pretty stupidbut it some what makes sense. If you can tank/heal w/e it may be for this weapon to drop, you don't really any better gear. Healers and Tanks, in a sense (and don't take this the wrong way), just "stand there." With out DPS nothing happens. Its a stale mate. Yaddimean? w/o DPS, what is there? nothing. The better the DPS the faster things die, the most stuff you get to do, consiquently. (things die faster, you do this, this, and this faster, which leads to this done faster, which leads to you have time to do this.)Yes, every class should be able to get a legendary item, but they benefit DPS far more than any other roll. If they made, say a legendary shield for tanks, that means what, they'll take less damage, and let them do.... what? Nothing, stand there long. It won't really give them better aggro, it wont make things die faster. Sure they could swap their tank weapon for a dps weapon, and.. dps?If they make a healing weapon for healers, its going to accomplish better heals, less use of mana. Sure this is nice, who wouldn't want to have more mana.. but if you heal for an extra, lets say, 5k you're going to use the same amount of mana. Don't most people spam heal for the most part? Sure, maybe you'll get your mana back a bit faster, but they're not going to really over do mp5, or spirit.Unless they give the tank/healer legendary items procs their benefit over all will be minimal at best.

Sinespe posted moreorless what I was going to. The shards are not that rare, but yeah you don't even get to start collecting them until later in the chain. Shadowmourne-ers won't get to use the weapon for very long before Cataclysm, but it's a nice carrot on the stick.
Am I the only one who noticed that in armory the shards are 1) showed as legendary (orange color) and 2) more important, marked as BoP instead of Quest Item?
