This was such a bad idea of blizzard. It totally dumped the economy of enchanting mats.Overall price reduction of 50% and all for the comfort of enchanters? Yeah right..
i dont get this chanters roll greed on everything so screw you, first if your lvl 80 no one needs a green item or atleast shouldn't. think about it if everyone selects to de the item, then outside of the chanter none of you actually need it. to say well its 2 profs in one. think about lvling a chanter all the items we get from quests that everyone venders instead we de. making gold as a chanter until you get to over 300 you cant really sell anything to people outside of twinks and most of them get their chants from guildies or another char they control. So right there we lose out on money. think about this a chanter can sell the mats for more than the cost of the items which more than half of the people would just vender. Now on the few servers i am on the costs of chants and mats both went down because now people can just do a day of dungeons and have enough mats for their char and all they have to do is get a guildie, an alt, or pay a tip for a chanter instead of going to the ah buying mats or buying a chant. Heck its almost not worth it to buy vellum because you cant make a profit. Im not talking a mild drop. talking lvl 440 chants that were 200+ now worth only 30 gold. I don't know about you just the 5 servers i play on, but i know some people who have already dropped chanting because they cant run the costs anymore. granted most were tanks so they have alot more repairs bills than i as a dps. sure alot more people can get chants at cheaper prices , but for us chanters we are losing out on the moeny we can make. I dont know how that makes us as chanters jerks when we picked this as a proffession and you didn't! it doesn't really help the last week ive run atleast 25 dungeons a day and only won a de roll 7 times! how is that fair to me. its bad enough before people would cry when i get an upgrade item and de my old item because i should let them roll on the shard of my old item. now you want me to lose money, lose time to lvl, just so you can have an easier chant. maybe id like to have the higher end jewels from jc, or extra socket from bs! think of the abyss crystals we cant even get those outside of a dungeon or a raid. we have to go into them...every other prof can farm mats solo. we cant! and dream shards which we use to buy and to make chants we have to get those in a dungeon aswell. so it comes down to wow i have to buy mats for my own prof , because ive lost the ability to roll on items no one wants. sure the mats are cheap, but to buy the mats and the vellum its not even worth it half the time
5g to anyone who can read the entire post above this.i only made it about a quarter of the way in lol.
5g pls. *eyesbleed*we have to go into them ...every other prof can farm mats solo. we cant!Which is exactly why the others in your group are allowed to roll on the shards. You need them to get your mats, and you can't expect others to pay your bills (indirectly, by losing the gold they would otherwise gained from vendoring the item). So the compensation is that everyone is allowed to roll on the mats which come from the gear that dropped anyway. People need to stop treating Enchanting like a gathering profession. It isn't, and it never was. It's a crafting profession with the built-in ability to gain mats from gear nobody wants instead of vendoring the gear. And since the gear dropped anyway, everybody has the right to roll on it. Sure, Blizz could built in the ability to opt-out for Enchanters, but that means you only get to DE the things you've won anyway. The only thing that changed is that Enchanters are essentially forced to DE things, whereas before they would have volunteered and distributed the Shards and Crytals at the end of the run. The result is exactly the same. The only thing that's different is the propability to get a Shard/Crystal in one run (where before everyone got something most of the time, you can now theoretically win all DE rolls in a single run), but it evens out over time. Face it, the price for Crystalls was ruined the day ToC was released. Not since the implementation of the DE roll.
This was such a bad idea of blizzard. It totally dumped the economy of enchanting mats.Overall price reduction of 50% and all for the comfort of enchanters? Yeah right..As an enchanter, I like the overall changes with enchanting. My favorite part of the change is the overall reduction in mat price.Leveling enchanting was notorious for being expensive to level, ever since vanilla wow. I think the price reduction was a much needed change for enchanting. It allowed me to level enchanting at a fraction of what it used to cost. Thought it messed AHers a little, the drop in price allowed me access to higher level enchants, and helped my guild with less worry on the cost of enchanting materials.
The only thing that changed is that Enchanters are essentially forced to DE things, whereas before they would have volunteered and distributed the Shards and Crytals at the end of the run. The result is exactly the same. Which is why I think the ones crying about it are the ones who have a tendency to roll need on items to DE them and keep the mats at the end of the run. The ones who actually share them love the idea as it means less work for them to do,
