What about weapons that are more worth to sell to npc than to DE (blue weapons mostly)?Personally I do not like this change, just because it let's other people take control over my profession. They should let the enchanters decide themselves do they want to use this. And yes that would help enchanters themselves, because it prevents the market from overflooding with abyss crystals. Does that cross the enchanters mind when they decide to DE purples for the group, that they are actually lowering their own profits throught AH. Sure not all have to do this because they have alternative sources of income, which is currently my status.
I would support this if this change would ONLY be available if there is actually an enchanter in the group. Why would i spend my time leveling the damn profession if everyone is getting the items anyway? You don't need the enchanters anymore for that.Might aswell roll for the herbs/minerals if a miner happens to stumble across a vein.*EDIT*DOOOOOOOOOOH, read it wrong. This is already in. Good change
Im an enchanter and I love this idea. It's better then having everyone wait around to trade after the heroic.
This might be a helpfull addition in the war against gold spammers... if enchanting materials are more available to the average player then less people will need to buy from the Auction Houses thus feeding lvl 1s called "Discount" and "Blizzbank" and ultimately reducing the ease with which they can put together large sums of gold on a daily basis to sell to the unwitting (or dim-witted/just plain lazy) wow-player. I have been an enchanter since I first started my main, but at no point can I say that it has been a profitable proffession. People are just unwilling to pay for dissenchants or even enchants in the same way that they are willing to pay for a gem to be cut. I very quickly gave up trying to charge for enchants and just hoped that the person would be generous enough to tip 5 or 10g. There isnt even the scope to sell 'finished products' like there is with JC. Make a scroll and put it on the AH and you may just as well have given the mats away cos the guy who needs the enchant can just go get his own mats and get someone to enchant his gear for next to nothing.I say changes need to be made to make enchanting a valid proffession like JC. Make it harder for people to gain access to enchanting mats, not easier!
I think along with this there needs to be something that allows an enchanter to decide whether or not their skill gets used. Otherwise, lets just add something in that lets people craft things with a group mates skill and their mats.....Most of the time, I would like using this to DE for groups, but there are people who I will not DE for due to past experiences- I would like the option to 'revoke' my skill use.
Its only money making if ppl are willing to pay for enchants/dissenchants. In my experience if you ask for a coupple of gold to dissenchant someones items u generally get told to get lost. As I said before, scrolls domt sell because ppl can get their own mats, and they just arent willing to spend 15 - 20g per enchant. Hence, no, enchanting is not one of the most profitable proffessions.Perhaps it woul be more worth while if Dissenchanting was made a seperate proffession, and the vendor value of greens was was significantly reduced. That way there would be no other reason for other players to stop dissenchanters from obtaining the items they need in order to validate their proffession. Essentially, turning green items into herbs, mining deposits, skinnable corpses.I would happily drop my inscription, (for there is another much needed proffession ppl take for granted and wont pay money for) to gain DE as a second proffession, safe in the knowledge that I will have the opportuniity to earn a decent living selling my mats.Players need to stop looking at Enchanting as a 'given' proffession. In no other gathering proffession can other players benefit from someone elses skills in the same way they can with enchanting.
idd let us all roll on the arctic furs and epic gems and the we'll sell them back to you! :DOfc this isnt really a valid scenario. As ppl get their own mats the enchanter doesnt necessarily need to. I just think it stinks that no one is willing to see that because enchantimg is so important, it deserves recompense, not to be dead cheap!
I've been looking for the proof in the Blizzard postings where Greed roll = DE, but I'm not seeing it.The original information released was something like Need > Greed > DE (if eligible). This means that if someone does a Greed roll of an offspec, then there is no DE roll, and no DE happening. For the enchanters thinking that its their right to withhold DE services from the rest of the group, I guess you always roll Greed on the BoP and DE it later. You'll probably get kicked from the group, because jerk enchanters are jerks, but hey, give it 15min, join another random dungeon and do it again until you're on the ignore list of just about every pugger across 12 realms.Personally, I'm not that much of a fan of the DE thing for other reasons. In the usual groups I run with, we leave the DEing until last, and usually top roll gets the crystal, and everyone else gets a shard (for 5man heroics). With the new method, there's no balance. If we DE'd everything through the system, one or two people could walk away with all the crystals and shards between them.Though we'd probably come up with a workaround or gentlemen's agreement. i.e. since we're in a pre-made 5 man, we end up evenly distributing the crystals and shards anyway, or once you win a DE roll on a shard, you skip the others (unless its going to be a crystal). If Blizzard could offer something where there is balance for shards being distributed across a 5man, I'll drink the kool-aid.
Why would you need a Frozen Orb? :PWould definitely streamline shard distribution a whole lot more.
From what I can see from the screenshot GREED = DE so just pick whatever u want. U wanna sell the item, fine, greed else DE. I seriously doubt one person picking greed will make the DE option invalid for all. This is just your way to tell if u want the shard or greed item. ^^Only downside I can see from this being an enchanter myself is that the ench mats prices will most likely drop a lot on most realms, so selling mats will not generate as much money as it used too.Regarding the discussion about professions I think that most crafting profession most likely generate the same service fee income ~5-10g unless its a very rare recipy. Might diff from realm to realm but generally. So I doubt the fee will change after this patch, just mats income will probably become lower.
Last time I was on the PTR, Greed=DEI saw a person who constantly greeded (maybe the enchanter* >.>) but I also saw DE rolls happen all the time.*I mean an enchanter of habit since all premades are enchanters :)
Ive just been told that on the PTR the DE roll can only be used by enchanters and over-rides the greed roll...I doubt theyd let it go live but that would be awesome!
