The damn pet looks like Pengu ... only with less red eye.
Q: does it have to be actual working e-mail (i heve enough spam as it is) or it can be some BS address. and; do they verify it?
i got the pet, its account bound and can be mailed to another toon, but why after using it did it not disappear? alas all toons get one so there is no need for it to stay, right?I asked about this in game. Someone mentioned that it's to allow new characters to get the pet as well.In my case that's not very useful, because I tend to stick to one server -- although I have a handful of characters on a second server. But it's still a nice gesture, as far as I'm concerned.
Got the penguins yesterday on all my characters. The pet is nice. It's cute and my bankers having a penguin following behind them is fun. But I rarely use the other pets my higher levels they have. I always forget to summon them after they disappear. More trouble than it's worth. A lot of people I know are loving it because they collect every creature there is. As for the Battle.net. I merged when it first appeared on the page where you log into the game. I'd already created a Battle.net account when I ordered my authenticator. I highly recommend getting it. My husband's account was hacked when it was suspended. We think it was a keylogger. They were able to get to his email account too. It was rather bizarre. Blizzard said it may have had to do with his add-ons and they were able to reinstate everything. We got the authenticator as extra insurance. Quite a few people I know were hacked. One guild I was in wouldn't let you in the bank unless you had one. For six bucks and change it's a good investment. The merge went well enough but I do take issue with the Email account being used for the reasons that have been listed. Also for us, there's another problem. My two kids have their own WoW accounts but it's all under my husband's email (he pays for them all) so now we have to get THREE separate email accounts (one for each account) under this new system. That's a real pain in the butt. As for myself, I used my email addy rather than get a separate one. With the password change and my authenticator I feel it's ok but I'll probably wind up getting a new email address and changing my account name, if that's possible. I assume it would be because people change their email address all the time. I do think that having to use the email address is the worst thing about it. As to why they are doing it? Seems having the cross faction chat/friends list is the big thing and maybe with Diablo 3 coming out soon they want to streamline everything and have all their data in one place.
Pff i find this merging really lame.I did it last night, and now after almost 24 hours when i merged, i still cant log into the game. The server list doesnt show any server in it -_-Ive mailed Blizzard a few times, and no response.. getting a bit *!@#ed
This change makes it just like Steam. Now you can not only lose your WoW account but all your games under battle net. Look at the profits Steam gets from people getting their account hijacked then those people having to buy the games all over again. They make it extremely difficult for you to get your accounts back, requiring the credit card information from the original game purchase along with other information. I talked with a steam account hacker once, he was hijacking up to 200 accounts a week and with that information was able to compromise 15-20 paypal accounts a week. It was his full time job.I hope you reported him to your local authorities so that they can arrest and prosecute him for theft.or are you part of the problem and should I suggest that the moderators here at Wowhead report you as an accessory to multiple crimes? If I had access to your information I would already be pursuing the second option.
Hi,I had a problem with merging, when i press "Finalize Merging" i get back to the page where i should insert my WoW acc and password, but this time it's says that "This is a required field." Tried like 10 times...still same sh1t happening...Any1 else had this problem?
