It would be pretty cool if the city was like Wintegrasp in a way. Occasionally it gets overrun and players have to take it back if they want access to certain buffs, vendors, or dungeon / raid.
gnome: ok guys, i got a new system that will power our city!gnome2: isnt it dangerous?gnome: nah, watch this!
yay for gnomes!
Maybe Gnomeregan could be retaken, and then be used as the new place to train professions for Alliance.the same would then have to apply for Echo Isles for Trolls.I could certainly see Gnomeregan as the new city to be in, at least that is what i hope will happen to the city.
There have been many jokes about the gnomes not being able to take their capital Gnomeregan back, despite the fact that there are quite a few gnome NPCs will level and gear sufficient enough to obliterate every single trogg and leper gnome in immediate proximity.with* If gnomes get their city back then that's all the more reason to kill them.
http://www.wowhead.com/?forums&topic=125007I did post this before... hehehe.I guess greens get more attention! :P
The gnomes deserve thier home back, Tinker town is already ignored enough.with the lack of people running Gnomeragan and the gnomes never getting respect, they must get it back. im sure a few bombs here and there wont hurt
Since both Gnomeregan and Echo Isles are so close to the major capital of Alliance/Horde, the introduction of them could ease the lag in both cities. If Blizzard was to make them, that would probably be the reason why. Plus that it would be pretty cool. That's what I was thinking. IF is a major hub as it is. Maybe gnomer could have a small ring of reclaimed area that serves as an alternative to IF or SW?Then again... maybe something catastrophic will happen to Ironforge with an eruption of fire elementals and gnomer will become a capital that the dwarves share?Something that blows the core out of IF and you end up with the old iron forge area open (the sealed of areas) .. redone as dungeons or raids. Not likely.. but would be kinda cool to shake up things every now and again like that. After all, if we are still playing 10 years from now and no major city has been destroyed.. it would be kinda boring!
Just another city to raid.I dont mind at all.EDIT: Cata will take place in Azeroth, Im not afraid of it being unpopulated. No more "sanctuary" cities, please.Well, that's just the thing. It IS taking place in Azeroth, so why wouldn't people still want to use Dalaran for ease of transportation to capital cities? That is, of course, assuming they won't add a new central hub in Azeroth. They already said they would be adding one.at blizzcon.
saw it com'in!
I hope they round up all the gnomes in the game, take them to the opening of GnomereganII.. then seal the doors, pied piper style. The only good gnome, is a dead gnome. That's why it was irradiated in the first place!
I was going to say "make gnomer the gnome starting area" but to be honest it's their city so I guess it would'nt feel right. Maybe they could do like they did with Ogrimmar and have an instance situated inside the bowels of the city. Some of the lower level instances (eg. deadmines) are being tuned for lvl 80's+ so somewhere down the line I see gnomer being remade for 80's+, perhaps with an ongoing phasing battle with the troggs. Or a small midget world event.
I was going to say "make gnomer the gnome starting area" but to be honest it's their city so I guess it would'nt feel right. With the introduction of phasing in old-world-Azeroth, you could actually make it the starter zone for gnomes as well as their capital city. I can see it, you start deep in the city, and have to make your way out of it. With every quest, a new area of the city will be unlocked and new quests will be available. If you finish all the quests down there, you may have access to trainers / profession trainers like in every other capital city. Problem here is, as already said , Horde would have problems to raid it because of the phasing.Or, you could just make it the starter zone without it being the capital later. Make your way out of the irradiated, fiendish depths of the once-cherished Gnomeregan up to the sunlit, snowy paths of Dun Morogh. That would provide a new levelling feeling to the gnomes. I hate sharing starter zones with another race.
With all the talk about it being too close to IronForge... what makes you think IF will still be there? Perhaps IF blows up.Edit: BigMiker73 posted about this first, but I didn't get a chance to read them all. same wave length :)
If the trolls are being pretty much shunned from the center of Org I would think they would go to Echo Island and take it back, or at least find a new home.
Just another city to raid :Dbut what happends to tinker Town?
i think it is awsome go get a new capital city, but i don`t think gnomeregan is the right place. it is way too close to IF. it would be better with a new capital south in Kalimdor. It is lame to fly all the way from darnassus when the lv 40-50 are training in Feralas, Tanaris or Un goro crater. If gnomes should get a new start-place, it would be cool. a new place go get quests and a new inn.
Just another city to raid :Dbut what happends to tinker Town?Ignored as usual except for Horde jumping back and forth from SW to IF to hassle some lowbies?O wait, that's what it is now...
Gnomes should get their city back! Im tired of making a gnome alt and starting in Coldridge Valley ><
I believe that in the start of cata (or more likely some months after in the patch after its launch so most ppl would have lvl 85s and actually have time to spend in it) we will experience a 1-time event like AQ War Eff and Scourge Invasion. Through a series of daily quests and stuff we would ACTUALLY (caps cause we already killed lepers and troggs tons of times) the gnomes getting rid of the troggs and lepers in some part of gnomeregan, cause a capital cant be that huge and it would be cool, as said above have a trogg/lepers vs Gnomes/Alliance fight once a while and rebuilding the city. Or, if this is not going to happen at least i'd love to.Just my 2 cents.
