Pretty sword model...
Its "Lic" and "h king", but yea pretty much what i was going to say.
It took me a while to get used to calling that being "the Lich King", and not "Arthas". I still catch myself occasionally typing "Arthas" when I actually mean the Lich King. It's a bad habit to have :)
I'm thinking perhaps this sword and it's massive strike will be the reason we can kill TLK in the raid version of ICC. I believe, and have thought for a long time, that he will have to be injured somehow before we could kill him. My first speculation was the plague at the Wrath Gate cinematic would have affected him. Then I thought perhaps Alexstrasza will assist in the battle somehow. Now I believe the giant 2M+ damage from the sword will make him flee in the 5 man, and force him to take up a defensive position within the frozen throne room. From there we will strike the rest of ICC, and work our way steadily up to his throne and conquer the now weakened Lich King, freeing the souls of Arthas and Ner'zhul and allowing them to pass on.
Wow, so far I'm liking most of these changes. Rogues begin with dual wield and 2 daggers; Possible Vanish/Stealth fix; Fire Nova now a spell that causes any fire totem to pulse damage; and nary a nerf to Paladins in sight!
The sword might maybe kill Arthas, maybe but it will not kill the Lich King. After all, bosses always seem to come back or their forces not totally destroyed. Need I remind you that the Burning Legion is still in fact still around and that they can always attack Azeroth at any given moment. Furthermore, by not killing the Lich King, Blizzard opens the doorway for more lore and just as important, more expansions.
They also have a new model of Arthas' father he will more then likely have something to do with the Quel'delar which has a different art style then the other lich king style weapons and the hall of reflexion is very relevant here too
That shadow damage looks too intense to be usable by players...I have a feeling that sword is going to bite players in the ass with that attack, don't ask me why or how though. And to the post above, what are you smoking?
I still call him Arthas. Deal with it. Technically, the Lich King is "bad" Arthas.
Arthas apparently "killed" Ner'zul, and merged with him somehow, thats all I know, they are now a single entity. This kinda makes me suspect more that in the final fight, this sword will be used on The Lich King, which in turn would either 1. Obliterate him completley, sunwel crap and 2 million + damage. 2. Defuse Arthas from the the Lich King, freeing his soul and all others trapped in Frostmourne, making some massive lore making scene, the other part of the Lich King does something and maybe pulls a Kael'ThasThats my guess.
True, they are a single entity. But there is no way no way that they will be able to separate or Arthas' soul will get redeemed.(perhaps his memory gets redeemed or some sh!te like that)Btw: I also call him Arthas on occasionEdit: the theory of the souls in frostmourne getting freed is an interresting one thoughEdit 2: It's also possible his body (formerly arthas') is destroyed but not his soul, still no freeing of arthas though
The Lich King is still Arthas, just the version of him that was corupted by Ner'Zul. In the end of Arthas: Rise of the Lich King, Arthas took out the other two governing entities that make up the Lich King. Think of it as getting rid of the little voices in his head, both the one urging him to do good and the one urging him to greater evil (and trying to control him). I personally think that his soul can still be saved because of Matthias Lehner. He is an embodyment of Arthas's childhood innocence, which was supposedly destroyed at the end of Rise of the Lich King. So maybe Ner'Zul is still around, too...Just my thoughts on things, sorry for the spelling.
With this whole "Sunwell" thing, my guess is you aren't going to have to fight a giant raid boss or anything, maybe a 5 man group or something, or it could just be teleporting you to the sunwell it's self and not have you go through the whole thing. I maybe be wrong but that is just my speculation.
