Nice guide Argent.Also:
Never seen Berubians, matey?Neither have I....
Nicely done on the Guide. love it!
Looks like we'll need the holy hand grenade for this one...
Rogues spec'd into Fan of Knives interrupts can still make this easy - but this cheat will be gone in the next patch, so don't rely on it too much. This "cheat" is no longer in the game.
I'll just give my 2cents on how we do things in our guild :)IcehowlIcehowl: Frothing Rage is not removable now.If that's the buff after he hits someone on his charge, it is removable. It wasn't at first, but it is now :)*Just checked patch notes, nothing about it there. But I swear we did it twice the other day!You will need 3 tanks for this. When Gormok is active, tanks will need to switch every 2 stacks of Impale - it is advised that you use damage reduction cooldowns and/or trinkets after the first full rotation. We use 2 tanks for this. Me as a paladin, and the other as a Death Knight. The DK starts tanking taking 2 stacks, then I'll taunt and get 4 stacks and the DK taunts back. I'll use bubble to remove the stacks, and the DK will take 4 stacks. To lower the damage on him, I use sacrifice on 3rd stack, and he uses some cooldowns on 4th. I'll taunt back, and give DK Hand of Protection. Then i'll tank the rest, and dead. This will free up a DPS spot, and that was very much needed for our guild.Lord JaraxxusWe noticed that portals and volcano's always spawns at the left side of Jaraxxus, so about 3 seconds before our melee DPS will go and stand ready. With only 1 Mistress spawning, the fight will go more smooth. When Infernals spawn, I'll tank the boss on one spike of the star, dragging him to the next if we get a infernal on us. This way our add tank have the middle to control the adds, therefor they cant run out of taunt range.Faction ChampionsWe tried CC. 40 wipes. Someone says on vent "Hmm, 1 warlock CC druid, rest zerg?" - Faction Champions down. Some guilds are better of CC'ing, others, like us, can just nuke.We still need to down twins and anoob, so nothing more here. :) My native language isn't English. I did misspell something, but if you didn't know what I meant by it, don't read it.
If that's the buff after he hits someone on his charge, it is removable. It wasn't at first, but it is now :)It can be removed on normal, but no on heroic to my knowledge. We tried CC. 40 wipes. Someone says on vent "Hmm, 1 warlock CC druid, rest zerg?" - Faction Champions down. Some guilds are better of CC'ing, others, like us, can just nuke.Might be an idea to get into your kill order or just who you zerged first ;)
For casters, make sure you have a spell from school you don't usually use (sorry, paladins, sucks to be you here), dragged somewhere handy. Hit it as soon as you see Mistress' Kiss on you - this way your least used school will be locked, and you will be able to keep on DPSing/healing.You can cast your Hearthstone and it locks that out instead so Paladins don't have to feel unloved.
If that's the buff after he hits someone on his charge, it is removable. It wasn't at first, but it is now :)It can be removed on normal, but no on heroic to my knowledge.I am talking about heroic. It seemed we did remove it.We tried CC. 40 wipes. Someone says on vent "Hmm, 1 warlock CC druid, rest zerg?" - Faction Champions down. Some guilds are better of CC'ing, others, like us, can just nuke.Might be an idea to get into your kill order or just who you zerged first ;)Alright, we took 1 healers first, shaman, and then nuke 2 DPS, prefer rogue and warrior. Then it's just random :)
I listed all the available cloaks (plus the one in the item itself) on the comments:http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47551Just in case anyone was curious like I was to the expertly vaguely worded "high level cloak" :DThey're not on Wowhead yet but the WoW Armory links work just fine.
I was not sure if it was 272 or 278 :P
Holy damn. Anub'arak Heroic Mode looks incredibly brutal.
A few things to be corrected. Some of this is 10-man specific, but still highly relevant:You have another 9 minutes to kill , otherwise he will enrage. This is ambiguous. I suspect what you meant to say is that you have 9 minutes total for all three bosses, since Icehowl will enrage after 3 minutes of being in the Arena. That means, in practical terms, he enrages on the fourth charge, so you have four "Stunned" periods before you will wipe. You will need 3 tanks for this. When Gormok is active, tanks will need to switch every 2 stacks of ImpaleI have to disagree with this. We run with two tanks and three healers in 10-man; we don't have any problems. One piece of advice is, if you have a Paladin in your group, when Gormok dies he should BoP the tank with the greater number of stacks of Impale, so that tank damage on the Worms isn't insane. You will deal with Snobolds depending on how much DPS you have,Any DoT classes can easily multi-DoT the snobolds and Gormok himself, working on the Snobolds as a priority while just keeping the DoTs on Gormok ticking over. There's no reason to ignore them -- "Ignore when X, Y and Z" creates complications that can lead to more confusion than you need from something that is already quite a highly focused fight. Besides which, leaving them alive is yet more healing that needs to be done. Your DPS will need to switch to the newly spawned Portals/Volcanos as soon as they spawn. This needs emphasising. Lots. It is the entire fight. Recommend a /tar Nether Portal macro, and start spamming it when DBM says there's five second left before a portal spawns. You can afford 3-4 Infernals, but you absolutely cannot afford two Mistresses of Pain (in 10-man) unless you greatly out-gear the instance.Twin Val'kyr changesThe Light/Dark shield that goes up when they start casting Twin's Pact will absorb more damage before breaking. It is advisable to have both of them tanked more centrally, almost on top of each other, so that things like Heart Strike and Chain Lightning can assist with the DPS there. Switching alignment for the purpose of killing an opposite-aligned shield should still not be necessary, though. Everyone just needs to be on the ball with switching and nuking.
Actually, I think it's a good idea to let the "Berubian" Burrowers... burrow in phase 3. This will reduce the amount of damage the OT has to take, but the OT will have to quickly pick them up if they come back up. Healers will need to keep an eye on the tanks, and the people who's been afflicted with Penetrating Cold, since that one ticks for 6k on 10-man. Wiping at 25k is never fun... >.<
You guyz don't switch the essence for dpsing when opposite colored Val'kyr shields? Can someone clarify this? We are losing a lot of time to change our essence.
Basically you have to choose wether you lose more dps by attacking a same color twin (ie 25 or 50% reduced damage) or by moving to get to the right color and then start dpsing the twin (ie you don't do any dps while you move + higher risk of being hit by wrong balls)
The best way to avoid the DPS loss is to tank the twins right next to the portal with the opposite color your DPS is using. So, if you're nuking the white twin and all your DPS are using the black color, tank her right next the white portal. The DPS can switch very quickly to white to nuke the dark shield or survive the AoE, then lose some time to walk towards the black portal again to resume DPS'ing.
The shield is a neutral colour in normal so you don't have to change colour. I assumed it was the same in heroic unless somebody knows differently?
Icehowl: Frothing Rage is not removable now.False. You can now use enrage removing abilities to get it off.
Only need 2 tanks for Gormok. I've tanked him multiple times in ToGC 10 with each tank never going above 2 stacks.
