you also might want to fix the link to alliance shaman in that pretty roster ^_^and i can confirm that the ret pally we had sure wasnt trying to heal, we had some serious wipes (god bless my shattering throw) also, have an MS at hand shifting to my prot ofspecc to arms was a blessing for our faction champ killsEDIT: nice summary tho :) never forget to thank people who help change the world (of warcraft)
I would fix it! But the NPC is not the in DB for some reason...Fixed.
We also put the Priest or the Shaman on top priority as far as the first kill goes, the Holy Paladin generally goes down after we've killed one or two of the dangerous DPS (mostly the Rogue and the Warlock or Shadowpriest). Our kill order generally goes like this:Priest/Shaman -> Shaman (if Priest 1st) / Druid (if Shaman first) -> Rogue or Warlock (haven't had the Retridin yet, so cant say how badly he hurts) -> Holydin -> semi-dangerous DPS -> DK as last target.Addition for the Shaman. About 10-20 seconds into the fight, the Shaman will use Bloodlust/Heroism. Have your priests Mass Dispell in order to get rid of it. A Heroism'd, Shadowstepped Rogue hurts for a lot :(
Just a small correction, the healing priest is in fact Discipline not Holy. They will cast penance.
Really well done, thanks! One tip: the slowing trap that the Hunter casts is Frost Trap, not Freezing Trap.
I knew I can't differentiate between the two traps, I checked, and still got it wrong! Grrrr...
odd, for my group the hunter was the first to die, then the rogue, then the resto druid, after that we kind of just burned targets at the GMs will. heh, hunters pet was the last one to die... we actually kited it around a bit lol.
Thank you. Very helpful guide and table.
Looks like you can't taunt these guys in heroic. :(
The ret pally is one of the more dangerous targets to leave running around, in my experience. He's difficult to keep under control because he keeps using Hand of Freedom, and he uses the old seal of blood/whatever the alliance equivalent is. He also uses repentance and hammer of justice. His hits aren't amazingly hard compared to say, the rogue's, but he can easily take out a healer if you leave him unchecked. He can also toss a Hand of Protection on his allies, so you need to watch for that.On heroic, the most dangerous opponents by far are the rogue and warlock. The rogue's blade flurry is currently seeming a bit bugged - she's shadowstepped a healer with it active and hit them about 8 times in the space of a second, for an insta gib. The warlock's hellfire ticks for about 8k a second before resistances. This is on the 10 man version, so 25 man is likely worse. Also, they can't be taunted on heroic. Might take a lot of wipes to work out a strategy that is effective for you.
The Ret pally is dangerous. Apparently he didn't get the notice on the burst nerf. The Enhancement shaman is not. He has some burst, but really not much. The reason to keep him near the top of the kill order is he'll keep tremor and grounding up 100% of the time, making your CC less effective. The Resto Druid can be nicely controlled by a warlock and another druid. Banish, Cyclone, fear, repeat with minor DR.
Revised to mention that the Retribution Paladin isn't as EZmode as I thought he was.
Sorry, I had only the blog fixed. All's dandy now.
Alright, now it's fine. =p
Let's see.A few things.Firstly, the Hunter is Survival. She will use Explosive Shot and Wyvern Sting. Also, she CAN Kill Shot, so try not to let people's health drop too low.Secondly, the Mage can Counterspell, and it's nasty because he loves using it on the healers. Also (because I've never seen any warlock I've grouped with do it), warlocks in your party should abuse their god-given ability: Fear.
