There's new races, the underwater stuff, Deepholme, new bosses, and a brand new side to talent points, just to name a few things. What WOULD you call 'new content'? Sure there won't be an entire new continent, but there will be some new zones and tons of zones changed to the point where they're basically new zones. Sure there won't be ten whole talent points to spend, but there will be that Path of the Titans whatever-it-is. I'm not understanding how this is same old, same old stuff.Edit: Thanks adamsm, fixed.
The way I see it, we got TWO new continents: Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.Just because it has names familiar we're with doesn't mean it won't be a completely new experience. Most of it may not even be recognizable. And I find that a good thing.
He's not too new, and we don't even know if we'll fight him yet. I revise my statement, the only "new" things are deathwing, the new races, and the sundered azeroth. It's probably guaranteed we'll fight him (he's Cataclysm's Arthas)We've got new races, dungeons, zones (not a whole continent, but the old ones need the update), a name for the new profession, new features (guild leveling, etc), and new race/class combos (troll druid, tauren pally, human hunter, gnome priest confirmed, more probably on the way)what more could you ask for at the FIRST OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT of the expansion?
The way I see it, at least 1/3 of the new expansion takes place in the elemental planes. That doesn't count as a new continent for you?Directed at Atathor.
and new race/class combos (troll druid, tauren pally, human hunter, gnome priest confirmed, more probably on the way)More on the way? Nope. Blizzard have released all of them already.
Gay grinding? As opposed to Heterosexual grinding. Can I grind on Spiders instead?
Deepholme not Deathholme, that's that place in elf lands.
My favorite quote--"Mastery System: As you spend points in a talent tree, you gain passive buffs (crit chance, dmg etc.). This is to remove the emphasis on talents that provide massive buffs and try and free points up for the more "fun" talents."I hate it how for some specs there are so many NEED talents, there's no wiggle room anymore. WHAT IF I want to pick up inmproved searing pain. HUH? HUH?.... xDEdit: Forgot me quotations. Edit 2: I put in an exclamation mark >.>
Guild talent tree sounds awesome. There's to much vagueness in this post though.
It wasn't meant to be a comprehensive guide. There are comprehensive guides up on the official site, at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/. This was written as it was said by the developers on the panel, with me tapping away on the laptop in the audience as they went. :P
Pretty obvious the radical changes are to compete with SW:ToR. Similar release times. I think Blizz just convinced me not to try it, too.
hmmm looks like blizzard is trying to get a head start in the competition with Aion and Star Wars: ToR
Well what to say?...!GIEV!...."GIEV MOAR!" ..."sounds of insanity"...xD
Deepholm? Skywall?HA! Take that elemental plane! We owned your earth and wind elementals!
Glad to see in the next expansion only 2/10 classes will be changing...
The entire blog was revamped and buffed. Quotes might appear later on, seeing that Mal loves them :)
No more Attack Power. Items won't have Attack Power on them. Agility-based classes (Hunters, Rogues, Shamans, Druids) will now gain 2 AP per point of Agility, much like >> Strenght << -based classes (Warriors, Paladins, Death Knights) get 2 AP per point of Strength.Just an FYI.I can't wait. It seems like it's going to be awesome! Plus all the revamped quests and zones, no more boring "trudge through Azeroth with it's poor quests and rewards" and all the changes. Fresh is always nice. :) Archeology sounds interesting. Just.... everything about it. Can't wait to experience the new zones. I'm gonna roll a goblin shaman as soon as Cataclysm comes out. Also, gratz on admin, ArgentSun.
The entire blog was revamped and buffed. Quotes might appear later on, seeing that Mal loves them :)Nice revamp. But there is a mistake with Uldum, which is being listed as Ulduar in every spot on the page it is mentioned.
Fun Fact: As I was editing the Ulduar-Uldum hiccup, it took me three attempts to actually write Uldum. I kept writing Ulduar, I guess because I've written it so many times, it's become a reflex...
Woah so if we get our boring talents reworked like +10%dmg does that mean we will see the same with our Hunter's pet's talents?well &*!@ i might get back into PvP seeing how we get so many BGs and they are RATED
