<333 love your strats
Great strat, a really easy boss to be honest.
Thank you for the Boss Quotes from her. I find them especially hilarious over other sound files. Another superb strategist from Argent!
Warriors are the best choice to tank Auriaya because they can use Berserker Rage to avoid every Terrifying Screech, and then interrupt the Sentinel Blast immediately.Great guides for up and coming guilds, thanks Argent :)
Explosive trap is a much better (and faster) puller than Snake Trap, from personal experience.Otherwise looks fairly solid. In 25 man we just keep all the sentries together on the initial pull, have tanks pop cds, and AOE them down before the first fear. Also found a spot missing a word.. First, the pull. You want to do a line-of-sight pull, where hide behind one of the short columns on either side of the circle. Triple edit lol, on the trash: I've never known people split dps. We usually just burn one down to 15 or so percent, then burn the other one down.
My guild just starting raiding Ulduar (10 man) again about three weeks ago (previously we'd only gotten as far as XT, then stopped raiding for a few months due to lack of interest), but haven't had much trouble with Auriaya. Got her down two weeks ago, on the first night that we attempted her, and then we one-shot her again last week.We pile our dps and healers into a little niche that's beside the stairs, and keep them there mostly the entire fight. I think this could help with messiness that you're encountering. Doing so keeps the dps from becoming too spread out when Fear happens and it also makes the positioning for Sonic Screech a little simpler.edit:Triple edit lol, on the trash: I've never known people split dps. We usually just burn one down to 15 or so percent, then burn the other one down.Yeah, we do the same. All dps on one until 10-15%, then switch to the other. You still on Malygos, Zeaket?
This is the one fight I always find myself fighting on zombie mode. Just like the big floating brain-like creature in H-VH I tend to just throw my spells and not even realize what she was doing. So thanks for the information, now I actually realize what I'm doing.
Oh, don't get me wrong. Auriaya is not really hard for us, but we wipe less often on Hodir, Thorim, or Vezax. It just seems like sometimes we get very unlucky in the beginning, all four Sentries Pounce a random person, or something else happens... After the first 5 seconds of fighting, it's all under control.
This fight is rather simple, the thing that makes it unforgiving is all the RNG involved. There are several (uncontrollable) factors to the fight that can result in a wipe. For instance:
This is one fight which I dare say it much, much easier on 25man, simply because you tend to have more of the same classes. Like, having 3 hunters makes the pull a breeze, having more than one shaman laying down tremor totems help enormously, having more warriors breaking fear (not to mention, humans/undeads) and interrupting Sentinel Blast. As for the Crazy Cat Lady, one thing to make it a bit easier, is picking out a spot where you want to have the sentinels die and having everyone stacked right on top of each other. Since the pounce has a minimum range, it's much easier to control the sentinels and you don't have to chain stun them etc. Yes, it requires a bit more movement, but it beats having the sentinel die in a random spot because the stun wore off before it died.
Im not sure if you're only having trouble with the pull ArgentSun or during the fight as well. The pull is obviously chaotic. Ive not met a group thats really declared completely that the pull doesnt give them a few grey hairs still. However, if you're having problems once the pull has been completed you might consider encouraging you're melee not to be behind her ever and stand on the tank. All ranged should be stacked on him as well and hunters tucked in as close as they can while still being able to shoot. We've noticed this VASTLY reduces the Feral Defenders ability to pounce and thus it can not stun or lock spellcasters out of their schools of magic. A badly timed pounce on a healer locking them out of healing can be devastating.Another note. Paladins can bubble and mages can Iceblock out of the guardian swarms. As you mentioned they arent a big deal anyways but every little bit helps. Id suspect BoP on the afflicted player would also be effective but Ive never remembered to test it.
We have plenty of priests in the raid and usually do a Fear Ward rotation on a disc priest. This means he is immune to the fear and once the her casting bar for fear comes up, he prepares with a Mass Dispel. 0.5s cast time and then another one the second after gives us 20 free players on 25 man (if he is fast enough).Works with a shadow or holy priest too, but their Mass Dispel is a bit slower. However, it is a lot better than nothing.Macro something like:/target YourPriest/cast Fear Ward/tell NextPriest I just Fear Warded %t. After the next fear, you do it!/targetlasttarget

It just seems like sometimes we get very unlucky in the beginning, all four Sentries Pounce a random person, or something else happens... After the first 5 seconds of fighting, it's all under control. We had problems with this for some time. We found a totem pull works best for us. There is a little area that is a 45 degree angle corner just outside LOS. It's important to have the off tank there to immediately use AOE when the kitties are in range. I usually wait for the kitties to get in range and just thunderclap. If someone else is getting pounced it's because the off tank is not far enough forward to pickup the adds before they get LOS on the raid. Vig on the shammy isn't a bad idea either because of the totem we've seen the kitties aggro to him right away. We've also found you can lose a healer if they cast a huge heal on you. For the off tank picking up the kitties it helps to pop shield wall, etc. like the strat says. Then the healers can wait until you have aggro.Great strat but I also wanted to add if you are having a hard time on her it can actually be a good idea to burn down the feral defenders whenever they spawn. This gives the healers a break and allows all the dps to focus on the boss. We tried ignoring the feral defender at first and found it much easier the other way.
