Love the Strategist guides so far! Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see guides for the end bosses.
Very nice and explains the fight wellDang you nec :PEDIT: Oh gryphon you are always so quick to edit even when the "first" is an afterthought to actual thoughts
And you want him free so he can taunt the Life Sparks spawned by Searing Light. You can make do without the tank doing that, but your DPS is bound to take a few 16k hits you can avoid with a tank (or mitigate a lot). As a tank myself, I have found it easy to make a macro like this:The strategy that worked best for my guild was to have people with light sparks run to one side (opposite the gravity side, like usual) and have a ranged (hunter worked best for us) kite it.You have to have a back up ranged kite the spark if your main kiter gets debuffed himself. Then have all ranged turn and kill it.This way you can do the whole fight with only one tank (thus increasing your overall DPS). We just misdirect/tricks of the trade the pummelers onto the main tank and kill them really fast after we break the heart (and the main tank blows his survival cooldowns here).
That works too, I guess. We just found it easier with an OT - but then, our top DPS were really high, so we didn't suffer from lack in that department and could afford the trade...
Nerf Scrapbots seems to be missing from the achievements.
Hmm, I thought it was missing an achievement, but I wasn't sure which one. Added now.
Need to add another " to the end of the sound file scripts for them to work in-game ;)
Thank you, and fixed :)
nice guide :Pi think someone wants http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45868... i wonder who.
I've a suggestion, ArgentSun. I see you've been making many Strategists posts lately. Then why not make a locked post-it that references them all, since none of your Strategist posts are stickies? A bit like what Gryphon does with his Helpful Threads.
Dancing Deconstructor.Yes? No? Back to Randomness?

Ah. Yes. Not bad either ;)
Have your left-side-melee-DPS run to a designated spot to the left and drop their zones there, your right-side melee - somewhere on the right side, and your casters - somewhere far away from the boss, behind the group, towards the center of the room. This should leave your Searing Light victims enough room to run around and have their sparks taunted.No. All this will do is put void zones all over the bloody place. Have a designated side for light bombs, and a designated side for gravity bombs. For instance, my guild, Invicto, places void zones on the left, and we overlap them as much as possible to conserve space, whereas we move to the right if someone has a light bomb, with a paladin tank dropping aoe and the afflicted person standing in it (I used to do this as a Deathknight before we decided that a Blood spec tank would better serve as the MT). What this does is it gives the off tank aggro on the life sparks without even pressing a key, and it also puts him/her near them every time. Light bombs spawn so often in hard mode, especially in 25 man, that having the afflicted player just go wherever (because you've been putting void zones wherever) means the offtank is wasting a TON of time running around trying to pick them up. Time that they're damaging the raid.Your healers should be strong enough to be able to heal a single stacked up group of ranged and a single group of melee anyway, or you won't down this boss. If your raid feels the need to make multiple groups of ranged, it means people lack the raid awareness to move when they first get the bombs, so you have to split them up to mitigate the unnecessary damage, which is lethal in hard mode if not prevented by proper movement on the part of afflicted players.
I agree... partially. I see why you will want your Gravity Bombs victims to run to only one side. This is logical and it certainly helps. The only reason we do it so randomly and chaotic is because some of our raiders (especially the new ones) are having trouble improvising. So we used to end up with people running to the right with Searing Light, then as soon as they are out of the group, it hits them - "I should have gone to the left!", and now they run through the entire group, brainlessly, damaging everybody twice. But I honestly didn't have a lot of trouble with the Life Sparks, being the OT to take care of them. Yes, I did have to run around like a fool, but the 30 yards range on my Exorcism and Avenger's Shield made sure I grab the adds more surely than with Consecration (which is a spell I hate, by the way - ticks are so underpowered).I am not certain why you would want your melee stacking however. Let me look at an example quickly.Let's assume it takes a person charged with Searing Light 2-3seconds to get out of range. Gravity Bomb is not really an issue, as it doesn't damage the raid until after it detonates - and if people are at least half decent, it won't hit anybody extra. So if you have one melee group, that's the entire group being hit by Searing Light for 2-3 seconds. It shouldn't kill anybody, but it's quite a bit of damage for your healers to take care of. Especially during a Tantrum. If you have two groups, however, the Searing Light will damage only half of your melee. I understand that one group is easier to heal during Tantrums, but two are easier to heal during Searing Lights - and you get more SEs than you get Tantrums.Maybe the ultimate solution would be to have 2 groups that merge just before a Tantrum (so the Daze doesn't get them)?
That works too, I guess. We just found it easier with an OT - but then, our top DPS were really high, so we didn't suffer from lack in that department and could afford the trade...Well in 10 man we don't always have a shaman for bloodlust/heroism. so it helps to not have to worry about not breaking the heart.Edit: Actually we often are missing several classes in our 10-mans :(
/clapI've been waiting for the XT one :)Just a little typo I think... You keep referring to Searing Light as SE. Shouldn't that be SL? Or am I missing something?
