I like the look of this app, and i whenever i search wowarmory on my iphone its slow and sluggish so it will nice finally being able to search for stuff fast.
I think a lot of companies are still busy trying to shoot themselves in the foot via forcing people to take down their apps. If the apps are going out for free and are encouraging people to use their services in new, unique, and legal ways, it's only beneficial to them. I can understand that they'd want to get people using their new, official app. I do not blame them at all. However, forcing other apps (ones that are being sold for free) to close up shop is only going to hurt Blizzard in the end. It never sends a good message to your fans or your fan development community and it almost seems out of character for Blizzard.
Awesome, now we can stare at the same, non-updated page for 6+ days on our Iphone!
I think the app is nice, but very limited in use. Yeah, it's cool that I can be out and about and check on my hunter/mage/ect. but why would I really do that? I know what gear I got the other day in my raid, and if I want to check out another person I'll probably do it on my computer when I can actually also be in game. And since the armory is pretty slow at reloading people, it does me no good if the person is in their PvP stuff or in the wrong spec. Overall it is just like the current armory, a nice feature, but not really everything it could be. The only thing that could possibly be useful is the calander feature. Now if they cut that out of the overall app and let me put both my Hunter and Mage's schedules into one other app, then it would be nice. Then I could check if I have a raid, or if I can relax for the day.So cool beans to Blizzard for making an Armory app, now fix Blink!
Don't own an iPhone but it atleast looks pretty. :(
You locked my thread that came out 20 minutes before this one? Harsh! =PIn fairness, you have a blog to promote.
This would be great if it wern't for the simple fact that the Iphone sucks. Go with T-mobiles G1 or the new Mytouch that is coming out in august. I am pretty sure there is already a Armory program on that.
Just FYI:DOES NOT WORK BEHIND FIREWALLSSo just like iTunes and YouTube functionality you might not be able to use it at work :(
This would be great if it wern't for the simple fact that the Iphone sucks.I disagree. ;-)But to stay on topic: I really like this app. It has a lot of nice features and runs very smooth. It's very nice to be able to sign up (or off) on calendar events quickly without much hassle, no matter where you are.I hope Blizzard will be releasing more stuff native to the Iphone! =)
This is stupid, considering my friend has had an app which allowed access to the armory like this for a while. Yes, it was third party, but it has existed for months. Not to mention that the Iphone has INTERNET ACCESS and the armory is on the INTERNET.
The only thing i'm worried is: is it free?I know iPhone can have a #$%^ load of apps, but most of them cost something.
It is AMAZING!Everything was done perfectly i cant find a flaw, it displays everythin you could possibly want, very well organized, neat, and beautiful, it works incredibly fast compared to previous non-blizz armories for the iphone; everyone who has an iphone/itouch needs to get this NOW!BTW, its free
Not to mention that the Iphone has INTERNET ACCESS and the armory is on the INTERNET.Yes, quite. A good point. However, viewing a web page on a small screen that isn't designed for a small screen or an app designed for the small screen viewed on the small screen?Besides the surrounding graphics on the website take time to load if on 3g and on occasion on wifi. WIth this app the only thing that loads remotely I presume, is the data pulled from the database of the Armoury. The app is definately preferable over viewing the website on the internet via the iPhone.
Since I don't have an iPhone, are there plans to make something that will work on WM6 phones? Or is there something out there already?
OK the interface is super slick, and I will probably use this as an alternative for quickly armorying pug adds while maintaining full screen on my computer. My quibbles are mostly that the app is so isolated. For example, the talent calculator is ultimately kind of useless. Once you've put all the points in, you can't get a hard link to the calculator, or mail it to anyone. If they added that, it would definitely expand the functionality.Still, great offering.
I just downloaded it so im gonna try it out for a bit to see if i like seems like it could be useful since i schedule the raids for my guild.
iPhone users have all the fun... *Cry*
I LOVE it!
The only thing i'm worried is: is it free?I know iPhone can have a #$%^ load of apps, but most of them cost something. All in all, this is a really solid app—and of course, it's free.
Yes, it's free.(Which I suspect may be some of the motivation behind asking others to shut down. I don't believe any of them were free. There may be something to that.)
