Hmm it is all in all a glorious change. It is simple enough,If you have never seen the old content, you can still play it slow and enjoy it as i will keep advising every single friend of mine that starts a new char. But for us few that are tired of going through outland for the 5th time, or farming yet again those damn loads of gold for the skills, it is a glorious change.Plus the 5k gold epic skill will stay high and still be an achievement of sorts altho it is no longer as "mandatory" as before..I do not regret farming gold for those skills before the patch, neither i will refrain from buying riding skill till 3.2 is out, that will be a few months still, riding skills/gold farming was and is a nessesary evil, of minor significance and good to see that it is being fixed. As for those that claim leveling is now faster/easier it is not, it is just adjusted. They just make the leveling take the same time it did to reach a different goal.1-80 now is as fast as 1-70 was in TBC and as fast 1-60 was in vanilla. Makes sence no?
God damn I slaved away to get my 60% mount, still had it for a little while in outland! Now these young whippersnappers will have flying mounts in outland questing, jeezback in my day we walked uphill to school both ways in the snow barefoot !
All you QQèrs are like an old Monthy Python joke"back in the old days we used to stand up 1 hour before we went to sleep"Are you forgetting something, this is a VIDEOGAME its not hard and it never were. Barrens was never hard it was time consuming cause you couldnt move freely, that is not hard ok. Making gold for the mount, also never hard just time consuming. It doesnt change the experence either, like saying when elites went to non elites, that did change the experience since group quest now was single quests. And please be happy this is a dynamic game, and not a static one. If it were to become stale, and everything is/was like it always has been, then whats the use playing. Its like those sad people complaining about gear beeing available for badges, QQQ waaaa-waaa i did a BT boss once and and and i want to be recorgnized as the greatest ever....
@#$% YEAH! I have this terrible alt addiction where I fall in love with a class, lvl a toon of that class to mid 20s, and then abandon it. For Instance since Mages are like THE casters one time I decided to lvl a Mage. I got it to 22 and then found questing to be too long and boring, even with the occasional blink. I felt like I was going no where. So I ended up deleting my Mage to make a Shammy cause there wasn't rly any allure to lvling it anymore...then I got rid of my Shammy for a Priest....then got rid of my Priest for a Pally...and I'm kinda gettin bored with my Pally now, just made it 3 days ago and its only 23 and I'm already thinkin about leavin it...but if it were to get a mount earlier, that would be uber l33t hax. Maybe that would help me with my alt addiction, where I could lvl faster and feel like I'm actually going somewhere. I know I know that sucks cause it makes it easier for noobs to lvl and they don't have to face the hardships we did...but the first time I did the 'For The Horde' achievement there was no Stormwind Harbor so after killing the guys in ironforge and stormwind I had to fly to arathi highlands and ride down to menethil harbor and from there take the boat to auberdine and take the boat from there to teldrassil just to get to darnassus... OUCH. There are other routes but that one was fastest for my pre bc group. Alot of peoples had it easier because of expansion packs and new patches and all that, and some of those people are the same people who are all %^&*y about the new mount requirement lvls. Sure, noobs will have it easier, but I bet 50% of you had it somewhat easier for some things then those of us who have been playin since the beginin. And hey, its not just great for noobs, but great for those of us who dish out alts like murlocs dish out pure awesomeness. Thx for readin ^^Daethdaeth (My new main)<Wretched Saints>Aggramar
Personally, I don't care whatsoever about getting my gold back, but I don't agree with this change.I don't see the point of making an already easy game easier, I was all for lowering the basic mount training to 30, but this seems a bit excessive.
I wonder what will become of the paladin epic mount quest... one does not simply walk into scholomance at lvl 40.All in all I welcome this change, especially to the regular flying. 150% in air... finally, my ground mount won't be faster than my flying one on my alts. 1.5 sec cast? Great! Less coming within .1 sec of getting a mount up and rushing off only to get death gripped 5 times in a row by dks. Part of the reason flying mounts were only available to lvl 70+ previously was, in part, because they wanted players to experience the environments. That's pretty obvious in Northrend due to cold weather flying requiring lvl 77. Chances are that, at lvl 60, you're not gonna have enough money to buy a flying mount unless you saved every last bit of money you've earned (maybe not even that... might not be enough) OR have a lvl 80 main to supply it. The chances of the latter are much greater imo, so that means they already ran through the content and probably aren't gonna want to do it again... I know i didn't in the 6 dks I've made and deleted. A flying mount at lvl 60 will simply make it so that those who ran the content already are able to get through it as fast as possible. And if you want to explore the outlands again, far be it from me to stop you. You never actually have to buy the flying at lvl 60...
Reduced costs of mounts, levels changed for when you can purchase mounts, yadda yadda yadda... I really don't care.Reduction in time to mount up reduced to 1.5 seconds from 3 seconds?WOOT!Best part about it, really, for someone who can't be arsed to play their alts.
Hmmm this is interesting. I do like the regular flying at 60 though :D
Damn ... nice.
Great news for me. The altaholic blues were very discouraging.
epic flying is STILL way too expensive. keep the old mount prices on the rest, I dont care but honestly.....5,000g is incredibly hard for us folks who don't have 7 hours a day to dedicate to this game. 2500? doable! 5000? they should allow loans in the game from banks. It's very hard to get around storm peaks/icecrown with a 60% mount, making it frustrating. It gets to the point where you need an epic flyer to get an epic flyer
Um refund pleaseOne question is the dk flying mount available with the basic flying skill?or do you need epic flying for it?
I CAN FINALLY QUIT LEVELING AND GANK THORIUM! WOOHOO!And I feel happy not sad, because the friends I invited to WoW can enjoy! Why would anyone want a refund?
Stop complaining so much about the epic flying cost... I have 3 toons at 79-80, all with epic flying and about 7k gold at the server. And I play VERY causual, never had to farm any money. There's no 7 hours a-day playing here and I never had trouble with paying the two last epic flying skills. The first one was in Tbc and then I had to work a little bit more for the money but it didn't took long at all. It's just a matter of saving the money and don't buy useless things of the ah that u could buy the mats for and let some1 craft for one third of the price. Btw, I like this change, mounts dosn't make lvling easier, just faster and less time consuming :)
This change is great. Moving slowly is a PITA. Especially running back and forth to quests at lower levels. There is absolutely nothing to be gained by moving so slowly. This is a great change. I wish they'd patch it in before 3.2 :PIn addition, they should add portals to all inns that you have visited (like FPs) instead of just major cities :) That may be asking too much though...Oh, and yes, this change does make leveling easier. You can avoid mobs much easier on a mount (especially a flying mount).
easy mode activated.
